Quermia

Quermia is a temperate world of gardens and oceans, home to the native Quermians. It is known as a centre of advanced learning and medical research.

Quermia is a star system in the 25th Anniversary patch 3.0.9770. It takes the slot that the original game gives to Elrood.

History

Quermia stays largely unaffected by the galaxy's bigger conflicts. It keeps its name as a hub of higher learning and medical research, with institutions devoted to new technologies and scientific advances. Though the Empire's influence reached everywhere, Quermia held on to some autonomy and concentrated on study and research. As hostilities between Rebels and Imperials intensified, its people protected their knowledge and expertise and so kept their society progressing.

In the game

In the patch's default ("compatible") galaxy the system keeps its slot's sector and map position. The patch calls its sector the Tingel Arm sector; the original game calls it the Glythe sector. The patch also has an optional "accurate" galaxy that changes map positions only.
