Pakuuni
Pakuuni is a remote, inhospitable world. Records give no details of its geology, species or trade, but it is known as a refuge for criminals avoiding the major powers.
Pakuuni is a star system in the 25th Anniversary patch 3.0.9770. It takes the slot that the original game gives to Arkania.
History
Pakuuni stays a refuge for smugglers, pirates and other criminals avoiding the galaxy's great powers. Its distance and hostile environment gave ideal cover against Imperial scrutiny. Despite the lawlessness, some residents learned to cope with the harsh surroundings and built improvised communities. The Empire and the Rebel Alliance sometimes raided the planet to disrupt crime and gather valuable intelligence. Even so, galactic politics mostly left it alone, and its underworld flourished in the disorder after the Death Star's destruction.
In the game
In the patch's default ("compatible") galaxy the system keeps its slot's sector and map position. The patch calls its sector the Tingel Arm sector; the original game calls it the Glythe sector. The patch also has an optional "accurate" galaxy that changes map positions only.
