Neimoidia
Neimoidia is a humid planet of deserts, fields and rainforests, home to the native Neimoidians and some Duro. Its economy yields technology, food, medicine, botanicals and starships.
Neimoidia is a star system in the 25th Anniversary patch 3.0.9770. It takes the slot that the original game gives to Balfron.
History
Neimoidia lost prominence as the Trade Federation weakened. It had been the homeworld of the Neimoidians, who were central to the Federation's operations. As the Galactic Empire kept consolidating power, the Trade Federation was dissolved, leaving Neimoidia and its people to cope with a changed political situation. Many Neimoidians lost wealth and influence, and some resorted to illegal activity or joined other factions to get by. Even so, the world endured and adapted to the shifting circumstances as the Rebel Alliance and the Empire fought on.
In the game
In the patch's default ("compatible") galaxy the system keeps its slot's sector and map position. The patch calls its sector the Colonies sector; the original game calls it the Dolomar sector. The patch also has an optional "accurate" galaxy that changes map positions only.
