Malastare

Malastare is a temperate world of forests and rocky ground, inhabited by native Dugs alongside Gran and Humans, and known for exporting Pixelito and Malastarian fuel.

Malastare is a star system in the 25th Anniversary patch 3.0.9770. It takes the slot that the original game gives to Cathar.

History

Malastare enjoyed a stretch of relative calm. Its podracing events kept attracting spectators and racers from all over the galaxy, which gave the planet an air of normality despite wider unrest. Its government worked carefully to balance the many competing interests on the world, among them powerful corporations eager to exploit its resources. As the war dragged on, Malastare's leaders tried to keep the planet neutral and concentrated on internal development for the benefit of their citizens.

In the game

In the patch's default ("compatible") galaxy the system keeps its slot's sector and map position. The patch calls its sector the Mid Rim South sector; the original game calls it the Abrion sector. The patch also has an optional "accurate" galaxy that changes map positions only.
