Jakku

Jakku is an arid desert planet inhabited by native Teedos and Uthuthma along with many other species. Its economy rests on salvaged technology, scrap metal, minerals, water and food.

Jakku is a star system in the 25th Anniversary patch 3.0.9770. It takes the slot that the original game gives to Corfai.

History

Jakku is a remote, desolate desert world that the wider galactic conflict largely passed by. Its isolation gave some shelter to people escaping the Galactic Civil War, although the harsh climate made survival hard. Scavengers lived off the wrecks of ancient battles, salvaging whatever was valuable. Exiles, outlaws and others on society's edges found their way there, and the planet stayed at the margins of the wider conflict, well away from the main fighting.

In the game

In the patch's default ("compatible") galaxy the system keeps its slot's sector and map position. The patch calls its sector the Deep Core sector; the original game calls it the Corellian sector. The patch also has an optional "accurate" galaxy that changes map positions only.
