Ghorman (25th Anniversary patch)
Ghorman is a Human-inhabited planet in the Mid Rim South, with no terrain or economy recorded, and is remembered for the massacre that took place there.
Ghorman is a star system in the 25th Anniversary patch 3.0.9770. It takes the slot that the original game gives to Ukio.
History
Ghorman went through a time of unrest and upheaval. The planet is historically significant, above all for the notorious Ghorman Massacre, and the Galactic Empire kept a heavy presence there to suppress any dissent. Tighter Imperial control brought more surveillance and security, which raised tension among the population. In reply, underground resistance movements grew stronger and worked in secret against Imperial rule. Espionage, sabotage and secret missions became more frequent as the resistance tried to weaken the Empire's hold. The inhabitants endured, adapting to new political conditions while keeping their cultural identity.
In the game
In the patch's default ("compatible") galaxy the system keeps its slot's sector and map position. The patch calls its sector the Mid Rim South sector; the original game calls it the Abrion sector. The patch also has an optional "accurate" galaxy that changes map positions only.
