Florn

Florn is a temperate world of jungles and oceans, home to the native Lamproids. It is a little-known planet, a fact that has shaped its quiet history.

Florn is a star system in the 25th Anniversary patch 3.0.9770. It takes the slot that the original game gives to Fornax.

History

Florn enjoys relative stability and growth. While the wider galaxy sank into war, it used its obscurity to concentrate on internal development and defence. Locals worked hard to strengthen infrastructure and promote self-sufficiency. Florn also became a sanctuary for refugees and displaced people fleeing the chaos, and its inhabitants welcomed them, folding them into society and fostering togetherness and shared support. This period of solidarity left a deep mark on Florn's history and made it a symbol of hope in hard times.

In the game

In the patch's default ("compatible") galaxy the system keeps its slot's sector and map position. The patch calls its sector the Tingel Arm sector; the original game calls it the Glythe sector. The patch also has an optional "accurate" galaxy that changes map positions only.
