Duro
Duro is a temperate, jungle-covered world with toxic conditions, home to native Duros, Humans and Rodians, and trading in food, labor, ore, high technology and starships and parts.
Duro is a star system in the 25th Anniversary patch 3.0.9770. It takes the slot that the original game gives to Ando.
History
Duros are known as gifted starship engineers, and as the galactic struggle deepened many of them ended up working for each side. The spread of Imperial power brought tighter control and exploitation to Duro, whose once flourishing cities were turned into fortified strongholds. Under that harsh rule, native Duros formed resistance groups and quietly passed intelligence and supplies to the Rebel Alliance. After the Death Star was destroyed, a surge in demand for advanced technology and capable pilots fed an underground trade in Duro starships and flyers. The planet's people became ever more divided between backers of the Empire and supporters of the Rebellion.
In the game
In the patch's default ("compatible") galaxy the system keeps its slot's sector and map position. The patch calls its sector the Core Worlds South sector; the original game calls it the Fakir sector. The patch also has an optional "accurate" galaxy that changes map positions only.
