Dantooine (25th Anniversary patch)
Dantooine is a temperate Outer Rim North world of lush forests, grasslands, hills, mountains, oceans, lakes and rivers, inhabited by Humans and producing technology, luxury goods and food.
Dantooine is a star system in the 25th Anniversary patch 3.0.9770. It takes the slot that the original game gives to Despayre.
History
Dantooine served the Rebel Alliance as a base from which operations against the Empire were coordinated. Its distance from the main routes and its capacity to sustain life made it a fine hiding place and planning ground for the Rebels. That same role drew Imperial forces to it, intent on wiping out the Rebel presence there. Even so, Dantooine stayed valuable to the Rebels throughout their war against the Empire.
In the game
In the patch's default ("compatible") galaxy the system keeps its slot's sector and map position. The patch calls its sector the Outer Rim North sector; the original game calls it the Atrivis sector. The patch also has an optional "accurate" galaxy that changes map positions only.
