Crait
Crait is a hot, dry and remote world dominated by salt flats, with no recorded native species, and its mineral resources include rhodochrosite and sodium deposits.
Crait is a star system in the 25th Anniversary patch 3.0.9770. It takes the slot that the original game gives to Filve.
History
Crait rose to notice as a concealed Rebellion base. A distant and mostly empty world, it offered wide salt flats and a web of caves below the surface. The Rebel Alliance converted a disused mine into a secret outpost that served for a time as headquarters for operations against the Empire. Later the Rebels went elsewhere and Crait was left empty once more. Its historical importance still drew interest from scholars and collectors, and many people sought relics such as artifacts and gear the Rebellion left from its stay.
In the game
In the patch's default ("compatible") galaxy the system keeps its slot's sector and map position. The patch calls its sector the Outer Rim South sector; the original game calls it the Dufilvan sector. The patch also has an optional "accurate" galaxy that changes map positions only.
