Commenor (25th Anniversary patch)
Commenor is a Human-populated world of cities, mountains, oceans, deserts and deep canyons, valued for its closeness to major trade routes through hyperspace and known for its technically skilled people.
Commenor is a star system in the 25th Anniversary patch 3.0.9770. It takes the slot that the original game gives to Caprionril.
History
Commenor began as an Imperial holding whose value lay in sitting near important hyperspace lanes. Its technologically gifted people favored independence and neutrality. Once the first Death Star was destroyed, local leaders pulled away from Imperial allegiance and quietly aided the growing Rebel Alliance. As the Galactic Civil War widened, the world turned into a center of spying and clandestine activity, with hidden networks and safe houses moving supplies and intelligence for the Rebels. The Empire tried to regain its grip, but the population kept up its defiance and helped, in the end, to tilt the balance of power across the galaxy.
In the game
In the patch's default ("compatible") galaxy the system keeps its slot's sector and map position. The patch calls its sector the Colonies sector; the original game calls it the Dolomar sector. The patch also has an optional "accurate" galaxy that changes map positions only.
