It's okay to be excited, now you get the joy of making your own version of Endor with the mission editor, with loadsa ISD's facing off against Mon Cals, and you stuck in the middle.

And eventually installing new fighters and ships to the game, and making new missions for the game.

Being creative is so good!!

Emm... My bloody experiance of XWA is not being able to progress past the 'containor inspection mission.' I ask you, what more boring mission could you include in a game. The last time I attempted it, I got so frustrated I turned my guns on that 'sister' you have in the game, just to hear her panic and yell lots about taking lots of damage...

 

If anyone has got a saved game file of just after this bloody mission, I will promise to be their best friend for at least a fortnight.

That mission had a bug, you had to install the v.202 patch to get it right.

It wasn't a particularly hard mission, though. Anyway... Check your mail!!!

I heard that the mission had a bug before, but I could complete it without and with the 2.02 update, weird.

 

Anyways, if you simply can't beat a mission in XWA and have already used your 'skip this mission' slots, then you can simply tell the game to run another mission. How ? Editing of course

 

In the MISSIONS folder you'll notice a Missions.lst file. It's a text file, so open it up with your editor. Now you'll have to find your mission, I mostly look for the name that was also in the briefing.

 

The strucure looks something like this:

 

Description

Mission number

filename.tie

....

 

Now, if you delete the parts from the mission-entry as much as there will be the filename.tie from the next mission under the mission number from your current, the game will use this one instead.

 

Hint: you don't have to do this too often. I could beat every mission without editing the mission itself or skipping it

The bug was that the mission would be passed after you checked 97% of the containers instead of 100%.

AlliEd is the best tool for editing missions. After I beat the game without editing I used the prog to change the pilots craft from stupid Y-Wings to B-Wing, or the Moldy Crow, and my personal favorite. The TIE Chiss.
