The latest news, updates to the beta, can be found in the Beta Testing subforum, which you will get access to soon, and which also has a thread detailing how to download the beta via SVN. For other news, aka. everything unrelated to the beta, our Moddb page is the best place to look.

I will check the moddb-page from time to time and wait until the public release is out. As you stated on the moddb-page on 12 September

it will likely be later this month, but no guarantees.

This mod looks truly amazing and I would love to be able to help beta test it.

I would like to be setup as a beta tester for SOGE. I have been playing it a little lately, and I am also setup on SVN. Just let me know if you need someone.

I download the files off of moddb, but not sure they work, I'm defeated instantly upon starting regardless of the settings. Looking forward to trying a more recent version!

The moddb Rebellion download is not 1.04 compatible.
