Lavo offered to help, so I've added him to the staff. He's done quite a lot. To quote him:

"new planets and bonuses (with help from Chimaera), rebalanced the Defense AI, fixed up the Research AI, fixed the missile techs issue, added in a Vong picture, created a set of NR ship icons, added in NR and Vong ship techs, added in new population techs, and others"

 

I don't really expect to get another update for Diplomacy, even though that seems to be the most requested at this stage. But if anyone is interested...
