You know why there is a billion of space units and only a few land?

Space = warlords conversions.

Blame that again.

Yes, not many people can ANIMATE, which is needed for land units.

If you know how to make a cube, you can make a borg ship for space. (lol)

No animations, no nothing whatsoever.

However, the most basic land unit needs about, 5 - 6 animations. Much harder.

"That was fun"

Besides the fact that to make anything htat has legs escelates the difficulty dramaticaly.

Sorry not to post, but I'm in a hurry.

I don't think we need a 100 mods in the community anyway - we just need a few good ones that have the quality and the clean coding that will play with out errors on anyones PC.

Anyway thats all I have for now on this. I support the Warlords conversions - if people want to do them and learn how to make the best possible conversion I don't see the harm in that. If people make bad quality ones - well it doesn't matter either - people have a right to learn from their mistakes and try again. If its on a Trial Version - then its more obvious why the model is bad quality. - Just not enough time on a trial copy to do a good conversion maybe ? - especially if your learning from scratch.

Sadly you are too focused on your own little world. The mod mods the come out actually reflect the actual numbers of modders in the community. You want ALOT OF mods, it shows diversity and helps people think of new ideas. You're thinking about me me me, oh I only want a few good mods. Well the majority of people don't. They don't care about the high quality stuff, they care about the much it adds to the game.

If you have a 30 day trial version, you'll be hard press to learn the basic terms and concepts of modeling to rig with Max. Swgbex tutorial isn't exactly the guide for noobs.

I encourage the learning experience, sharing the knowledge even better, yet the large number of public models do absolutely no one any good. People take for granted that people keep free releasing things. It's sad. Actually most people just take the models and stuff from mods anyways so why does free releasing matter? I know modders with this super uper duper personal mod with everyone else mod included in it.
