It's very complicated, but there's only an ozone hole for 4 months, and that's during the dark season and ONLY effects the center of the continent where nothing can live. The ice re-freezes during the dark month, and only melts in the warm area. There's not really anything to worry about with Global Warming and Ozone depletion. October 23, 200619 yr While it could be a problem EVENTUALLY, right now it's not that much of a problem. It's caused by an increase of wind and Chlorine in the air, and that's why people banned CFC's. The Chlorofluorocarbon's that we produced as sterilizers, fefrigerent, and fire retardent, are banned because people found that they were in the hole. The reason is because they don't react with many substances, but because of the special conditions of the Polar Vortex, they only deplete ozone there. And it only DEEPENS the hole for the 4 months it's there.
