Dark Empire SPG is a mod team focusing on the Dark Empire Comics. The comic is a series on how Emperor Palpatine returns shortly after Thrawn's demise. 6 years after Endor the greatest Sith Lord has returned in a fresh young body and has plans to rule the galaxy with the Dark Side of the Force. Byss was his test world and now the center of his pursuit to conquer the entire galaxy.

Up to date we've added new units, planets, galatic conquest campaigns and done a trailer.

Mostly right now we've been doing rigging of the warlord models and reskins of units. We are progressing into the stage where we are modeling models.

I have already seen the the Space Station in another mod but I am really looking for the Eclipse and the World Devastaror.

Does it "eat" ships like in the books??

there is no eating animation, but it does auto destroy everything underneath the mouth area and produces a truckload of tie/ds

Right now We went through a slight shift in administration, Roskov is now Co-leader and I am Mod-Leader.

Things we are planning to add

20-30 planets have been mapped and ingame

10-20 gc maps, possibly more, including unique gcs for operation shadow hand

Plenty of new space units, all will have deathclones.

Adding sfxs for all new unit.

Replacing victory ingame movies because darth vader is dead already

Looks good. What it lack are more lights on the hull as probably most of the new-made or converted ships.

I kinda like the darker skins.. Seems more realistic to me.  All those lights just dont make a lot of sens to me on a warship.

If you could see the eclipse bridge, the bridge has lights.

 

Also our mod is more progression. Most don't have deathclones and lights and gloss yet, they eventually all will. Just takes time.

 

Personally, empire ships don't need many lights, the rebels should have lights.

Fair question:

 

Super star destroyer has lights but the Imperial Star Destroyer doesn't have lights, it's white, it doesn't need to be illuminated, glossy yes, luminate no. Where would the lights be? It's a giant white Ship.

 

In space is a dark area so white clearly contrasts blackness of space thus shows 3d models better, however rebels ships typically have a worn darker looks thus they need lights to show 3d model better. Now take a stealth ship such as the Eclipse it's meant to be dark and doesn't need lights.

 

Just an opinion.

The Assault friagte has lights, just not on the main hull, and you cant see them that well cause Roskov made that into a .JPEG and they suck.

I am sorry but still don't understand why ISD hasn't lights.

In the stock version it has and they give the ship a very attractive appealing.

The Warlord converted ones doens't have much.I asked just because I didn't know which was the most right version.

Typically a warlord conversion lacks many files that a standard one has. Gloss, lights and other things, also the bump maps aren't as good. Look at Swgbex conversions... they are like 20 times better than in stock version. Our conversions have been improving since he joined our forums to advise us on how to do them properly.

Ah now it's clear. So it's a problem of files lack.

No offense to AGD Team, but AGD V3, was rushed and it showed.  The models were an example of sucky conversions, swgbex's models look incredible, truly incredible when their use to be screenshots of his works.  Dark Empire falls decent, we aren't rushing because FoC is coming, taking time adding sfxs to units, planning hero clashes, going to start filming. A trailer should becoming out soon.
