excellent.. so your tellin us that there is an expansion to the game.... bitchin, when does it come out? and what's on it? can that pet of delphi get that info? or is it too early to know since the game hasnt been constructed...

I don't think there was a doubt in any of our minds that there was going to be an expansion.  ;)

Now to just hope for the features that we want make it in, like diplomacy and create a hero.

I just hope it doesn't conflict with the Petroglyph/Sega Project.  Seems like this will divide the team up a lot.  Sega project, EaW patch/map packs/editor tools, and now an expack.  Unless it will be work on later.  But I don't know how things are run at Petroglyph,  so It could work.

What we want would be nice (Or not needed),  but what we need is more important.

I must not fear

Fear is the mind-killer

Fear is the little death that brings total obliteration

I will face my fear

I will permit it to pass over me and through me

And when it has gone past, I will turn the inner eye to see its path

Where the fear has gone there will be nothing

Only I will remain

Whilst this is excellent news I would say this will take a while. I for one am going to get any expansion for this game. I do know that much.
Let the money printing begin!

No offence, but this is like telling me I get a desert with my $15 meal at Tony Romas. You know, how after you spend the $15 for what you hoped was a good meal, then they bring you the desert and it's a bowl of ice cream.

I don't know what that even means, but to me what is the point again of announcing an expansion if they aren't going to announce it? They haven't even fixed the problems with the current game and they are already talking about releasing an expansion?

I'll tell you what, how about you send me the expansion for free, that way maybe my current version of the game won't just sit on my HD unplayed. I'm sorry, but this stuff gets me a little ticked off. What I want to hear is, "Delphi announced they are releasing a patch that will fix all the current problems, add in some features that people have been asking for, and it'll all be for free!"

Delphi's pet Chiken told me in chat.

The PFF administration is not accepting this source of information. In the interest of saving "pet Chicken’s" skin we declare this information to be only a rumor and btw ...we are not 100% sure that Delphi is Delphi-PG ;).

Um, there are very few things that are as horrifying as that picture.  Although I will say that the current Rebel vs Empire balance would look like that if it was a picture.

Are we going to have to wait for the expansion pack for the current balance issues to be corrected, are they going to be fixed in a patch, or are they not going to be fixed at all?

In other words, what does this expansion entail?  Is it going to be more content on the top of the current game only or will it incorporate fixes as well, at the exclusion of fixes in the mean-time?

>:D

One would fervently hope that they would not waste their time on such a worthless endeavour such as a clone wars expansion.

As a matter of fact, Delphi-PG has stated that a clone war expansion wouldn't make sense given the starting point of the current game.

If at any point in the future, a possible expansion was to be announced, I think you would all be theoretically very pleased and intrigued as to what it would be about.

IF that were to happen, of course.  ;)

And IF there were to be an expansion, you can bet it wouldn't be the Roma's "dessert scenario".

But it's all just heresay at this point.  Just crazy wacky theories, brought on from dessert-induced Roma's binges.

Cool mod. Nice to see extensive modding. The mixture of technical and design creativity reminds me of the old days of game development where the programmer was also the designer. Another side effect is that we can see design experimentation which helps with future expansions/product development.

I do hope that all the EAW game designers will play the TIE-Fighter game before starting to work on the expansion.

As long as it is not a strictly clone wars expansion I will be happy, but from what I have heard it doesn't sound like it wil be with hints of the tie interceptor and Dathomir.

I never said anything about the CW, just the AT-TE. :)

Theoretically the AT-AT should make the AT-TE obsolete, but in the EAW universe, that would probably not be the case.  I would be all for a technology progression that started out with all classes represented with the updated units (AT-AT) being at the end of the chain starting with the (AT-TE or whatever), but not they way it currently is where the older units are not replaced.  The way they do the Z-95 in the campaign is how it should be, not how they do it in galactic conquest where you can build that and the X-Wing.

do we uh.. have a lrge guestimate on the release date of the expansion? do we have to download it, or do we have to buy it at a store....

Bah, I shoulda known this might not be true, at least not yet.  Uh, considering its in general discussion?  If it was official, I'd assume this thread would be in the stickied news section right?

Anyway, here's hoping there'll be an offical announcement soon about it so we know what's what.

Chiken told me cain this ain't rumor.

Yes it is only a RUMOR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! remember that (and be smart)

Or else! ....Or else this guy will come after you to explain better ;)http://www.wonderlandparty.co.uk/acatalog/24086_1.jpg

R2-Opus2 - yes ... this is just a simple rumor debate nothing much. That's why I am not deleteing ...

Theoretically the AT-AT should make the AT-TE obsolete

Not really, since the two designs have different uses. The AT-AT (first seen in the CW, alongside the AT-TE) is a main battle tank/APC combination best used in wide, open terrain. The AT-TE is more of a medium tank/APC combination that can be utilized in areas where the AT-AT has trouble operating (i.e narrow city-streets and jungle). The only vehicles we've seen the Empire use for those purposes (A9 Floating Fortress, Sabre-class tanks) have been repulsorcraft and would be useless if encountering shields in those areas. Even the wheeled A5 Juggernaut would be big and bulky and might have some problems manouvering.
