Hehe i was having anice mod game and enterd the hoth system with 5 SD's 2 VSD's Interdictor 4 tartens and 2 Aclimators, now I forgot the system has ion cannon and the rebels have 3 Mon Cals and few other ships yet, i still won

 

Thing is with ion cannon they cna disable your ship etc but not throught the battle unless the same ship is hit, i had my first SD ionized and a few mins later or a min later it was fully functional again, luckely i could bring in reserves into the fight with m other SD's but at end of battle the 2 VSD's, 1 SD, 2 aclimators and 3 tartens had been destroyed thats heavy loss imo, but a fight to remember, that even with an ion cannon the situation isnt hopless if your well prepared, also use your bombers to take out mon cals ion cannons and or stations hanger by other wise you got alot of fighter swating to do.

 

But yea leason is here that ion cannon isnt as bad as it sounds but it can be if your not prepared, thaught id share my thaught and experience.

I certainly hope they don't spell dome.  That would be very odd if futuristic light wave based weapontry formed spherical architectural structures when used.

It would certainly make the battles interesting. 

I dont know..if you stare at the crackling energy long enough it might just spell dome...you may have to be under the influence of alcohol for it to happen but its certainly probable for it to happen.
