yea the final battle will really be the climax of the war, followed by a steady decline of the losing force. By the time you get to the last fight you will be sick of the game cause you spent the last 30mins-1hr stomping out your enemy.

With what has been said about losing the game if the Emperor or Mon Mothma gets killed, I would imagine the final battle being around a planet that houses Mon Mothma. The rebels will try despirately to take out the Death Star and if they fail, the game will end with a dramatic destruction of the planet she is on.

i really hope that isnt true, i would hate to accidently blow up the emperors ship when the game is just gettin started kind of a waste. Atleast if they add this i would hope they can make it so you can change the victory conditions.

Well, if you did lose him like that, that would be a very instructive game and you wouldn't likely do that again.

i meant if i accidently blew up the emperors ship.  As in when the game just started to get good your opponent bring the emperor into battle andyou win by accident.

You know what is cool?  From some of the internal file definitions, a common win goal is for the last rebel planet to be destroyed by the Death Star  ...  I guessed pretty good I think.

I dont think the final battle will be that good either, when each player has about 50/50 planets each , that will be ace . sort of like the start of emp 3.

If the person only has one planet left I can't see it being a huge battle since this person must have lost everything just trying to hold what planets they had left. I think it all has to do with the player though, whether or not they have a fleet remaining.

Anyone played Risk?  If one person pushes someone down to.. Australia usually, they then use their extra armies from holdings to put an impenetrable wall there that they can maintain indefinately... I can see the same thing happening with EAW.  Funny if you have the holdings, very not funny if you the one with only one planet....

I wouldn't care much, but I would like the last battle to be the most epic battle in the game. Also, I want to command the galaxy after I've taken control of it.

Final Battle of Garm Bel Iblis will take place on the planet Tangrine. The Imperials do not relise this is the final battle, they have ships everywhere, why should they fear the loss of some backwater planet?

As Garm's faithful Bothan ally, Borsk'Feyln arrives on his ship, the Peregrine, a small imperial shuttle appears before them. Borsk nods"The Empereor and his pet have arrived. That is them"

"I see, the death of them will crumble the Empire, this is our chance. Bring the fleet in now engines hot turbobattiers charged I want his shuttle dust!" Garm yells to the Tactician.

  "Jump in 5 ..4..3..2..1"

When they come out of Hyperspace an A-wing scout nearly crashes into a very suprised Imperial Shuttle. "All guns FIRE" comes the call.. and all that is left is a lone Dark Black Helmet."Victory is ours, send a message to Mon Mothma informing her that I have saved the Rebellion and that when she is ready to apologize I will be willing to fight with her agian."

As the Com Antenna is charging up 12 Blue flashes appear roughly    120 Kilometers infront of the Peregrine. "Cancel that transmission.. Thrawn still lives..."

To Be Continued

LOL! Now that would be great! Of course the emperor would come back in the game. >
