Been watching the post quality drop dramatically since the first developer chat announcement brought in new people. I have to say, I am quite dissapointed. I enjoyed what felt like a bit more mature forum atmosphere than what is available on the LEC forum circus, but that seems to be going down the drain as of late. It has alot to do with the people coming over from those forums, but it also has to do with the lack of useful information about EAW. I had my hopes up quite a bit for the developer chat, but they were quickly dashed. Not much solid info came out of that chat, and some of the questions that were allowed through were simply unforgivable given the limited time available for the chat. Another issue is the list of questions that we had sent in. They have been out for more than a month now, and no telling if they will even be answered in a useful manner or even returned at this point. Too much about the game is hush hush this close to the release too. I can recall many different games that had full tech trees and/or unit lists available on their websites before the game was out. And it is very dodgy that we had to find out on the forums the correct information about the true timeline of this game at a time after the original launch date!

Anyway, I am taking my leave of these forums for a while. I haven't had much desire to post on most of the current topics anyway, so have been lurking for the past week or so. I am sure a few of the older members know what I am talking about in the section above. Hopefully something will show up on the Petroglyph web site or the one at LEC. Given the lack of info at these places, I probably won't be doing anything but checking every once in a while to see if the demo has been released.

Anyway, I am curious if anyone else feels the same way about the info being release (or not being released by Petroglyph/Lucas Arts).

Be sure to post why you voted the way you did.

They need to release more info, I'm not saying that because I want more it's just we are being kept in the dark, which can be good but not this much, even the devs rarely post now so we are going like this.

"This happens"

"No this happens"

I think it has everything to do with lack of information. At this point everything that can be discussed has been discussed, now it is just new people coming and talking about the same thing but lower quality.

The information trickle for this game is miserable compared to what I am use to even for an LEC game. On top of that, the info we do get is sometimes wrong and misleading.

and I would have to go with both the 2nd and 3rd option. More info should be on the official boards but at the same time we need more info in general.

Megajames can you please calm down with the post counts. Please stop posting random stuff like the second post above. Thanks.

With the Release date only a few months away we still don't have a full unit list, Planet list, Hero List......

There is a massive Hole in the community at the moment. Makes me wonder if LucasArts are bothered about the success of the game.

They seem to hardly acnolage that the games exsistes, there to interested in battlefrount II

exactly, they were fully devoted to bf2 before it came out and paid little attention to EAW, you would think that after BF2 was released they would pay a little more attention to EAW, but so far it doesn't look like it.

I think it's somewhat ok, but they really should have had most of this stuff up on the official site.

What's wrong with say, a Feature Friday, or whatever they called it on SW:Galaxies? Release a tiny bit of info each Friday up until release. Once in a while profile a unit, talk about strategy/technical info, things like that.

Would keep the community busy for a while, without drying up the subjects completely. It's been, what, three months since we've had new screenshots? There was the trailer, of course, but it didn't really show anything truly new, only improved graphics on stuff we already knew about.

I think that they are making sure that BF2 is going solidly and then they will release more information. It is surprising however to see them still not giving out more information (unit lists etc.) even three weeks after the release of BF2. With the demo supposed to be out in December they (LA) need to start giving the information out and soon at that.

Mhh... Feature Friday. Sounds good to me.

Well, I'm very curious about the game too and i also collect every singe info about it but with the release far far away i have to be patient and have to keep myself busy to avoid me thinking of the game...

But if anybody of the developers read this post in his freetime he's welcome to post some secret insider-infos

Yea I have been saying that for awhile, friday features are nice. They always hyped the community up in SWG. Profiles of units and heroes would be nice, but if you are pressed for time the feature could always be a couple screenshots, something is better than nothing.

They play the game lots every day, is it to hard to press the screenshot button and post the pic.

Eh, its not up to Petro, it is up to LEC to release info and screenshots.

Then they should ask LEC if they can every fri add five pics.

Yeah, it's really boring yust to repeat topics and discuss the same things, but LEC doesn't reveal new info, at least New units, and all the planets, really, some peaple will find this stuf boring if this continues like this, I mean, what's the problem if they reveal at least, AT LEAST new units, planets...that's all!

Well, i just think they are concentrating on BF2 now; even when its out.

Right now I could kill who ever made BF2 for ruining empire at war fans.

Well, they might be concentrated in BF2 now because it's the sequel to the best selling star wars, but the could also make info for EaW, they are to many, they could devide in one group for BF2, and another for a little info for EaW, in BF2, every 15 dais there was new info, even if it was small, it was!, here, like 2 months wi don't have new info(Excluding the trailer), really, if it wasn't for Delphi, who revealed some features.....but he rarely presents now.

I'm going off to cry,

But now the only thing they need to concentrate on with BF2 is just advertising, there is no new info to release. With EAW they need to do advertising and more info to be released and plus they have their own advertising department, meaning their PR people are just setting on their asses pretty much.

Lucasarts has lost its mind. And its business sense. Give it the one chance it needs to disavow the cruddy 'Star Wars milk maid' reputation it has gotten from all of its usually-inferior quality Star Wars games, and create a potential LANDMARK in gaming history with an equal potential for a 5 year+ fanbase like Diablo or Starcraft...and they shit all over it.

Yes, truly. Lucas Arts is terrible inepet at marketing/making computer games. This is someing I have seen sence I became a Star wars fan. The last good game I played was X-wing Alliance. I hope that petro isn't being hindered to much with the game play aspect of the game be lucas arts, because if so, A great game studio will be producing a S*** game instead of a incredable space stratagy game.

SWBFII SUCKED!! The graphics were horrible! It looked like they took the orginal and just added some content! Not even enought to keep me interested for more than 10 minutes! UnInstall!! EBAY...

So, if they are still working on that game they are crazy! They have to be gearing up for EAW!

Its not that bad, much better than the original, graphics aren't great, but doesn't matter still pretty fun to play, it has kept my interest longer than most games.

LEC said about a month ago that from now on it will only produce about 2 games a year from now on so that they can focus just on them and make better quality games. Let's hope EAW is one of these.

Of course EAW is one of them since they bumped the date remember? Well graphics aint everything but you sure do need a recent graphic style to make the gameplay or it would be someone weird.

Yea but they weren't bad enough to ruin a game, just not as high as some games have been recently.

Yea, they pushed the date back, but will it be enough?

just from the slow info leak we know the game isn't what we first thought it was going to be. I'm sure it will be great, just hope they don't cut to many corners.

Well, I can see how SWBF2 was somewhat fun! You have to try and rationalize yourself for buying the game ... I mean be realistic, I have bought and played Far Cry, Half Life 2, F.E.A.R, just to mention and few, and the graphics are 10 times better! Just face it they took the xbox version (733 Pentium, 64 Meg G-Force 2) and copied it to PC. They didnt' buff up the graphics one bit! If I wanted to play something that crappy I would install Solider of Fortune or something from the late 1990's. Also, the figther controls were horrible! I could really go on for hours!!! So, I'll stick with the games that have good game play and graphics and try to salvage what money I wasted on SWBF2!
