Saw it for sale at target yesterday, almost bought it.... but wasn't sure if it would be worth the buy.... any recommendations Mad? or anyone else?

I consider it to be a very good Z-movie! Quite a few scares, a nice story and a few fun kills. All in all worth a buy if you like horror movies.

I was so disappointed about "Return of the living Dead 4". I saw the trailers for that movie, while it was just in production and I thought that must be an awesome movie. Than I finally got a DVD-Version, the german version , and it was full of cuts.

Return of the Living Dead 4! I wasn't even aware they had made one.

They made "Return of the Living Dead 4 - Necropolis" and "Return of the Living Dead 5 - Rave from the Grave" in a tandem-production. I wanted to link their trailers, but I feel they are just for adults. The german DVD-Version of part 4 was totally cut, allthough it´s the 18 version. You even don´t see any shot! So I refused to watch part 5 till now, which shall be the better part of those two.

We saw the new Ben Stiller movie "The Heartbreak Kid" this weekend. I hadn't heard much about it, and when my gf told me the name of the movie, I thought it was a biography for Shawn Michaels. It was not, and it was pretty lame. Avoid it.

Recently, I watched a classic fantasy movie, Conan: The Barbarian. It is one of my all-time favorite movies, and it is a shame its sequel Conan: The Destroyer was crap.

 

I'm not sure what the status on it is, but there was talk of a third movie called King Conan: Crown of Iron. If made, hopefully it will be as good as the first film.

Will Arnold still be in it? If Harrison Ford can be in Indy 4, I dont see why Arnold cant be in Conan 3.

There is talk of Arnold being in it, and I can't see anyone else playing Conan. I've heard talk of that wrestler Triple H being in Conan, so perhaps they are looking for someone new.

HAHAHA! That would be awesome. Triple H was in Blade Trinity and I loved him in it (I also loved him as a wrestler back in the day when I watched it). Maybe Arnold we be like his dad or something...

Arnold has said that while he is The Governator he would not do any movies, other than cameo appearances with him "as the Governor of Kalifornia" (use Austrian accent for italicised words).

 

When he decides to step down, he would definitely fit in for the "older" Conan with other adventures. Have you read any of the stories/books? They are quite good (with some better than others, and a couple of ... slow ones ... here and there. But definitely good overall )

Yeah I have read some of the Conan stories. Awhile back I bought The Coming of Conan The Cimmerian, which is a collection of some of Robert E. Howard's original stories. Stories such as: Queen of the Black Coast, Tower of the Elephant, and The Phoenix on the Sword.

 

Well, if Arnold did play Conan again that would be great. I just hope Hollywood makes it authentic and not cheesey. Conan: The Destroyer had some consistency errors, and seemed to be watered down.

My aunt owns a large collection of them. When I saw them about four years ago I was briefly under the impression that they contained soft-core porn due to the covers. And my, there were some strange ones!

I'll wait and see what others think. Horror movies are so hit and miss these days.

 

What I am looking forward to is Sweeney Todd. Johnny Depp + Tim Burton= great chemistry and awesome movies.

I beg to differ, Rob. I would say that horror movies are just misses these days. Even that isn't very accurate, IMO. They've always just missed.

Just got back from seeing 30 Days of Night.

 

First off, I'll say this: No, it did not scare me. Most "horror" films don't.

 

However, this is one of the few films I've seen in a long time where they tried to make vampires "scary". Most vampire movies portray them as romantic, elegant creatures who wear goth clothes and go around spouting off melodramatic gibberish.

 

In this movie, they were pretty gruesome and vicious. If I had to compare it to something it would be like Night of the Living Dead, only with vampires instead of zombies.

I have to see that movie!

I finally saw (part of) Edward Scissorhands last night, and to be honest I wish I hadn't. Why? Because I saw the tremendously climacitc end and not the beginning and so I only had a vague idea what was going on. Fortunately for me FoxMovieChannel showed it twice more in a row after that, so I recorded it and plan to watch it when I have some more free time.
