March 23, 200620 yr I grew up with Special Edition stuff The only original stuff I saw was the Christmas Specials and Thanksgiving Specials of "Return of the Jedi"... Before I even saw ESB... Still, interesting stuff to note, there. My band teacher wound up showing us the original ESB and ROTJ last year, so I have seen them, just not as much as the special edition crap. March 24, 200620 yr I never got why people bash Lucas for the changes he makes to the OT. I for one like them. They enhance what really should be seen. My only gripe is Jabba in ANH looking nothing like he does in ROTJ (Why not just make him the same size?) March 26, 200620 yr Some things I wish they would change... 1. The scene where Obi-Wan's lightsaber doesn't have a blade and looks like a stick. I thought they should have corrected it in the Special addition release back in the late 90's, and they most definitely should have fixed it on the DVD release. They attempted to fix it with the DVD release, but it still doesn't look right. If it can't be fixed, the should cut out that one tiny bit of the film. It just doesn't look good. 2. Darth Vader's robes and shoulder armor. In Episode III, V, VI, Vader's shoulder armor is not covered by his robes. However, in IV it is. What did he do, not dress himself correctly that day? LOL. It is not that big of a deal, but I think it would flow better if they changed that. I'm guessing with all the stuff they can do today with special effects and editing they could change it. 3. Luke's green lightsaber in Episode IV on the DVD release. ???? How did this happen???
