November 30, 200520 yr As you know, we still are searching for our main voice actor, the Mon Calamari advisor for the NR. Until we find one, I've tried to hack my X-wing CD version, where Ackbar speaks a lot during the briefings. He has his sound files stored in: XWINGCD\TALK\ACKBARThe file extensions are hidden under such: .p01, .p02, .p03.....I've tried to play it as .wav files, but that didn't work. Does anyone know, how to convert it back to wav files? Here's a file: ackbar.p03 I assume, these files are compressed.
November 30, 200520 yr OOOHHHH... *Shakes hand vigorously* I d/l your file to desktop, and renamed extension to .wav and loaded into winamp, plays it just fine "Imperial shuttles are to rendevous with the Frigate (Vingham?)" "In the future it will become easier for old negatives to become lost and be 'replaced' by new altered negatives. This would be a great loss to our society. Our cultural history must not be allowed to be rewritten." - George Lucas, 1988. [u.S. November 30, 200520 yr SWR Staff - Executive Its a specific Creative sound file, I had a converter at some point. If Winamp can read it, you already have a codec for it, just output to a wav or mp3 then Evaders99http://swrebellion.com/images/banners/rebellionbanner02or6.gif Webmasterhttp://swrebellion.com/images/banners/swcicuserbar.png Administrator Fighting is terrible, but not as terrible as losing the will to fight.- SW:Rebellion Network - Evaders Squadron Coding -The cake is a lie.
December 1, 200520 yr Author I've managed to open it with Goldwave,it seems they are stored in "voc" format. It can play the files perfectly. Well anyway, this is the voice we are looking for Thanks for the help
December 1, 200520 yr Speaking of sound files, and forgive me if I asked this before, but does anyone know of a way to convert wav files to something far less large? I copied some x-wing alliance tunes onto my HD and the file-sizes are huge. http://www.jahled.co.uk/smallmonkeywars.gif
December 1, 200520 yr Well you could convert them to .mp3 or .ogg format using Goldwave. That should considerably reduce there size. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
December 2, 200520 yr If Goldwave isn't free, you can also try Audacity - which requires free plugin to convert to MP3 (the instructions are on the site). http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/1778/reloadedbannerdu8.gifhttp://img152.imageshack.us/img152/1333/3dartistbanneranimationws1.gifhttp://img154.imageshack.us/img154/4026/rebellionbannerdi2.gif
