February 5, 200818 yr There´s a guy who is called an artist and who is living just a couple of meters from my house away, where he also has got his workshop. There are lots of sculptures stored of which you can´t be sure what it looks like. I never considered to call that arts and never believed that there´s anybody who buys his stuff. But yesterday I´ve read the newspapers and it looks like that this guy and his team won a competition for ice-sculptures in Colorado. Of course with an abstract sculpture, while others rather tended to build elephant-heads and other nicer things. http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/1822/bridgeoftolerance380sr8.th.jpg(source: badische-zeitung.de) The sculpture is called "bridge of tolerance" and shows a bridge of my town which leads over the rhine to france: http://img259.imageshack.us/img259/9250/dreilaenderbrueckenr9.th.jpg(source: badische-seiten.de) Call me ignorant, but I just could recognise that it´s a bridge after I´ve read it. Who cares at all?!
February 6, 200818 yr I have never liked abstract art (except for a few exceptions). I just find it outrageous for people to pay millions for something that looks like it took an hour (or less) to make! http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
February 7, 200818 yr There´s a guy who is called an artist and who is living just a couple of meters from my house away, where he also has got his workshop. Of course with an abstract sculpture, while others rather tended to build elephant-heads and other nicer things. So I suppose Banksy is an artist, too, yay If everyone painted/sculpted elephants/horses/etc. it would get boring pretty fast. Besides cute animal heads and human figurines limit the artist in what he can express with his art. Btw. bridge isn't just that thing connecting opposite sides of a river, but it's also a symbol of connection between two (possibly different) people and cultures. This might be what this guy had in mind. -rebellion2 enthusiast-Terra Reconstructed
February 7, 200818 yr So I suppose Banksy is an artist, too, yay Poor animal! So it´s that easy to do something artsy, call it a bridge and name it with some words like "freedom" or "tolerance" and everybody will like it and you will receive a price?! Who cares at all?!
February 8, 200818 yr The catch is in that "everybody will like it" part. You have to be really good in order to receive anything. I checked the original article at badische-zeitung.de and it seems that the competition was a bit tricky. They had to create a sculpture from an ice cube in a given time. They proved that they can do that with great skill and unlike the others dared to create something more, something with a symbolic meaning (and imho quite good looking too). The point is that creating something abstract doesn't mean one is not able to create something photorealistic. Look at Pablo Picasso for example do you think he couldn't draw a simple portrait? -rebellion2 enthusiast-Terra Reconstructed
February 8, 200818 yr Well I don´t doubt that for a second. So, Moribundus, also german tongued? I´m impressed. I just wonder how these guys practiced all the time, though thanks to global warming it´s not that cold here anymore. It´s even two years ago since we had snow. Who cares at all?!
February 9, 200818 yr Haha, no, that was mainly work of the miraculous Babel fish Atlough I learned german at grammar school, I forgot almost everything, so without a dictionary I can't put together a single correct sentence Yeah, snow is rare here too, and even if we have some few days a year, it's not enough to make a simple snowman, not to mention a buffalo or elephant. Perhaps they had some training tours to the Alps. However it must be very depressing to watch all those sculptures melt away after the competition -rebellion2 enthusiast-Terra Reconstructed
February 13, 200818 yr For once i have some pictures to show. Here is a background I am working on for a fan film. Its supposed to be the outside of a hangar in the lower areas of Coronet city.http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/coronetoutsidehangarwip.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
February 13, 200818 yr Very nice! Is that a SW fan-movie? I´m just asking because I´m not familiar with the name of that city. Who cares at all?!
February 14, 200818 yr Yes it is a SW fan movie. Coronet is one of the major Corellian cities. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
February 15, 200818 yr Ok, thanks. So is this a full animated movie or is this just a background, which will be displayed behind real "actors"? Who cares at all?!
February 16, 200818 yr lol- nice use of quotes there, Eagle. Impressive looking, Mad. That's at a bare minimum video game-quality 3D, and for one person that's most impressive. 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
February 16, 200818 yr It will be added behind real actors. I'm still working on adding detail to the background. http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
February 16, 200818 yr lol- nice use of quotes there, Eagle. If I wouldn´t have used quotes, though no knowledge about Mad´s budget for that film, you could have thought that there would be someone like George Clooney or Edward Norton playing a role in it, instead of just his mates. Who cares at all?!
February 19, 200818 yr Leontopithecus suricatta:http://www.jahled.co.uk/Leontopithecus_suricatta_b3.jpg The Meertamarin Also: This is going to be one startled duck when it resurfaces..http://www2.b3ta.com/host/creative/9805/1203261175/Lunchtimelossy.jpg I think the tiger is already reaching for the Hoi-Sin sauce http://www.jahled.co.uk/smallmonkeywars.gif
February 20, 200818 yr Beautiful! http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Palpycard.gifhttp://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a359/Mad78/Spamkinguserbarcopy.jpgCLICK HERE IT IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!Click here is you like Trance
February 20, 200818 yr What a beautiful tiger! Did you shot these photos, Jahled? They are both photomashes. The photographer of the Golden-headed lion tamarin with a Meerkat's face is a professional photographer who normally does war-zones like Iraq but gave us (ZSL) a discount because he likes working with wildlife as a medium when he's not working with the army. The bottom piccy I simply found on a google image search for 'swimming' and added the duck, with some cloning of the water and some added Impact-Photoshop filter refelection http://www.jahled.co.uk/smallmonkeywars.gif
February 20, 200818 yr Now that you say it, I can see it. First thought there was a duck swimming in the pool of the tigers cage, but now ... Who cares at all?!
February 25, 200818 yr Rob ought to enjoy this. 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away

February 26, 200818 yr Nice pics guys. I've been a little distracted by work lately but fixed up this pic this morning. http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h293/Defender_16/CorellianFrigate.gif Rob ought to enjoy this. Ah yes, the leaked Colbert/ Tod Lockwood pic. I heard there was some huge legal issue regarding it's comission so it was leaked to the online comunity since it otherwise would never have appeared.EDIT: Right, it was made for a trading card game but was rejected. EDIT2: I keep forgetting that the edit button is at the bottom now. http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h293/Defender_16/ImperialDestroyerEscort.gifA light Escort Cruiser design built by Damorian Manufacturing Corporation based on their much earlier Carrack Cruiser. At 365m in length it is only slightly larger than it's older cousin but does spupport a launch bay with room for two full starfighter squadrons. The ship suffers from reduced speed compared to the Carrack but has noticeably more powerful shields and retains the Carrack's formidible weapons. February 26, 200818 yr Who in their right mind would reject that image? It's practically part of American History just by existing! 12/14/07Nu kyr'adyc, shi taab'echaaj'la Not gone, merely marching far away
