But they could have small fast ships, mad tolled me about a Millennium Imperator or some thing like that, it is supposed to be faster then the Falcon and the private ship of the emperor.

Hyperdrive only works in hyperspace, at sublight its just as slow as an Impstar.

Yes I absolutely agree, it seems exactly like the emperor’s vision of things: “as long as we can shoot them down, it is ok"

Well I also believe that they had no need for super fast ships because after all it was the Terrorists--excuse me-- Rebel alliance that was doing all of the running.

The other thing is the all mighty dollar - even in Star Wars, things are expensive

 

Imagine trying to outfit a fleet of hundreds of already expensive warships with extremely fast, and extremely expensive hyperdrives - it just wouldn't be feasible, even the New Republic ships only have a hyperdrive rating of 1 as standard. Not too mention that the Empire was in the habit of having very expensive projects going as well

By the way, the way the hyperdrive rating works is it's a multiplier - ie. if it takes 1 day for a specific jump with a rating 1, a rating 2 will take 2 days and a rating 0.6 would take 0.6 days and so on - basically the lower the number, the faster the ship through hyperspace.

Yes and I suppose that when episode 4, 5, 6 where made, G.L. didn’t know of the Republic Assault cruiser, because they came in "later". I mean, I don't think G.L. had invented or designed that ship before he made episode 4, 5, 6, because he may haven't be expecting such popularity and wasn’t planning to do anything more about SW.

But I still think that he was stupid to put a faster ship in an episode that is supposed to happen earlier.

Gl had actually written ep 1,2,3,4,5,6 all in a row but he cut them up.

Because it is always better to start in the middle of the action. While he not "write" all the Episodes before doing A New Hope, he did have a good background on the themes and history he wanted to explore. His first idea was a series of 12.. later 9 then 6.

 

A New Hope was given the "Episode IV" title to reflect this as the middle of the series. With the movies success, Lucas was able to continue with Episode V and Episode VI. For more background on this history, I would read the appendix of the Star Wars Timetales or the Star Wars Annotated Bibligraphy.

But I have a question, a am TRYING ( I repeat TRYING ) to make a TC on the clone war, but I don't know a lot more about it than the film 1 and 2 shows, and I read these big descriptions books. but I would like to know what is the list of capital ships that where used in it, I know a few but I need more, even if they where only prototypes.

Oh and does anyone knows where I could find a texture for the republic assault cruiser, or who can I make one. if any one that has already done one has a hint for a beginner and a true novice in computer programming, I will open a topic on outside interests to receive any answers if there are any because I think the admin wouldn’t want me to do it in general discussions. Any picture of about episode 1, 2 and if you have any 3 are largely welcome. And can any one tell me why when I try to download the card of the republic cruiser, it says that it isn’t found, and if it is normal, can any one tell me where I can find it.

Oh and does any one know where do I have to go to change the card of planets, missions and there resolution cards? IF we can change them. That will by all otherwise I think that I will have an other moderator and the back!
