  1. Im Back! Sorry people, Ive been incredibly busy lately, you know, college AND Im actually programming my own RTS game (got bored with modding, decided to create my own from the ground up)...My EAW mod is on hold for now, but Ill still be hanging around. What bug did you need my help on, 1upd?

    Lavarider, this forum is falling apart. Could you please specify somewhere else to talk? Was your mod ever released? Could you help fix up a model?

     

    EDIT: Wow, it actually posted! Last time I tried it gave me an error message, several times.

    Yes I know. I already sent VaderEclipse an email through Empire at War files, but Lavarider doesn't have an email set.

    Everyone's account was moved and sync'd up. Hopefully there shouldn't be any problems... better, if they had multiple accounts, it is now one account.

    lol, yeah. I always get disoriented when boards get moved. I hope the mod supporters from the old board find this topic again. They'll probably see the bugless version of the mod when I put it on Filefront, either way. But there was one bug I think I need Lavarider's help on...

    EDIT: I think my email notification isn't working anymore, do you know how I could fix it?

    This small texture mod gives many land infantry and heroes special "Halloween Costume" skins. Some are just supposed to freaky, but most are actual costumes.

     

    Extract the mod into your FoC folder, if you have something in Data/Art/Textures, you should back up the folder. To uninstall, just delete Data/Art/Textures.

  5. I'm pretty sure there's already a fairly large Halo mod going on, but I don't know what happened to it.

     

    How much do you know already? You're not going to get very far into a project like this without experience. I would suggest starting out with just minor changes you'd like to see in the game.

     

    .ALO format is currently only supported by 3D max, which is not free and there is currently no workaround whatsoever. If you want to model, you'll have to pay. But if you model really really well in a free program, like Sketchup, Blender, Wings, or something like that, and you know a nice professional modeler, he might be able to convert the models over to .ALO.

    btw, i think it may be a good idea to give samus's ship some minor laser cannons as well. i was playing today, about to attack the eastern energy signature on bryyo, when i scanned it to attack, it said "your ship's firepower is insufficient to damage it". from that, it can be asumed there are some minor laser cannons, methinks.

    Hmm, you're right. IDK, I don't really think it's that big of a deal. Her missiles kind of replaced them anyways.

  7. I just wanted to say I'm taking a break from working on the Metroid mod and I'm working on a small halloween mod just for fun.(I wanted to call dibs on the idea :)) Hopefully I can get it done today or tommorow so that EaWfiles can get it up in time.
  8. OK, we are encountering the same issues!  made custom map, saved it.  it is in the directory, it is set to multiplayer.  We exited out of EAW, went back in - no map...  We have the 1.05 patch.  Any there ideas?

  9. Haha...cutting polys is easy.  Take this example, I just cut a 600,000 odd poly model of 86 megabytes (wow) down to a 4 megabyte (I forget the new poly count)without losing much quality.  I can do the Samus model for ya, no problem.

    Ok. So who's going to convert the Samus model, Dr. Nick or Lavarider? BTW, how's Quadraxis/Ridley comming?

    Yes. But ultimately that's for the modeler to decide. I can't model myself, but I assume lowering the polies isn't that easy. The GMod model is Metroid Prime quality.

    don't  know if garry will let you use it. he's the king of source mods, is't he? i have a few, but never got my head around Gmod.

    Garry didn't make that addon. We'd just need permission from Grim R3aper and Nexus_Elite.

    Really? I didn't think so. Big shoulders, helmet, guns on arm, it's ok for Samus.

    Maybe we could work something out if you got me that CGI model as a reference model to build around  :D

    YES! Thank you. I'll try to find a good Samus model tommorow, but I've got to go now. I think Lavarider might be interested in that too.

    I must have forgotten to reply! I'm not sure if I should tell you yet. ;D Ok, I was planning on having an Ing Hive structure in skirmish on the outpost pads and possibly in Galactic Conquest as a building that requires a grounded leviathon to build.

    Yes! Good one! I have a currently unused reskin of geonosians to look like Ki-Hunters already. I have the perfect place to use a luminoth warrior as well. But to prevent having to push the first release date back, I'm waiting to make this particular feature until the 2nd version.

  15. It's special because I meant to confuse you guys into speculating so I could laugh until I finally decided to explain myself. Instead, you just got confused. No speculating. Oh well.

     

    In the original Samus addon(Which is already up) Samus is bought in skirmish from the Hutt Palaces for any faction. So, since I added Sylux and almost scrapped IG88 and Bossk, I decided to do that with all the hunters, both Metroid and Star Wars. Yes, I'll probably be adding some more Metroid hunters for that reason. But now any faction can claim Boba, IG88, Bossk, Sylux, or Samus. (Weavel doesn't really count because he's a pirate)

    Did you even look at the screenshot? Does Boba look anything like a GF trooper? No, Boba is Boba. That's what's so special. Notice that he isn't firing on the pirates. And no, he was not corrupted by Phazon. Though I suppose he should be by now after working with the phazon-covered pirates.
