Well, I'm sorry but: Delphi seems to have enough time to post things like: But he hasn't got the time for a short update, some news regarding promised features like replay functionlity, map editor and modding tools? -

Long overdue? It's 9 days since Delphi made his last posting in these forums... Devs, what about an at least weekly update? No news to report? No progress on Map Editor or Modding Tools? -
Re: What do you think of the balance: MULTIPLAYER?
Sven replied to Jameswgm's topic in EAW General Discussion
Ok, Delphi, then you should change the behaviour of the AI in terms of producing lots of 'rubbish' units. What I mean is: I played GM yesterday and, with a Spacestation Level 4 in planetary orbit, the AI kept producing Tartans en masse and no other type of unit. I allowed the AI to produce 28 Tartans before I went to take over the planet and I was wondering why no Acclamator or any other ship was present... -
Some of our forum users at cncforen.de are reporting that they lost a hero or fleet completely - means that the icon on the right top is gone and the hero won't show up ever again (if a hero is affected). It seems to happen when a fleet or hero is placed on a specific slot of a planetary orbit. Saving immediately and reloading this savegame appears to solve the problem but it appears to be a bug, as the slots sometimes are acting as a black hole. See a screenshot one of our users attached: http://www.stiboloki.de/bilder/eaw.jpg In this shot, the right slot on Hoth seems to be the one but there are reports for other planets as well. Did anyone of you experience this also?

After i read this posting from darth_torpid-pg on lucasforums i'm wondering if the game has already gone gold: If no more changes are possible that means its code-freezed and that can only mean it's gold already or at least very, very close to being gold.... What do you think?

It doesn't seem like anyone posted this link yet: Starship Dimensions

I asked wether there would be clan support, it even was accepted by the moderation (was the fourth (or so) posting) - but no one answered Anyway, we have translated most of the transcript (focused on the new things and the stuff the community is currently discussing the most) to german. Here it is: http://www.sw-eaw.de/index.htm?&shownews=260

Feedback collected from our forums (cncforen.de)
Sven replied to Sven's topic in EAW Issue Reports and Tech Support
As Nevets mentioned, these comments are from users of www.cncforen.de. And as they are german, austrian or swiss, many of them don't speak english well enough to tell you what they found. So maybe you should re-read my posting? I'm talking about the users there, not here.... -
As the majority of our users can't post in english I opened a thread on www.cncforen.de, in our SW:EaW forum, to collect the feedback from our users. We made a general outcome and here it is: I apologize for not keeping the format that is required in here to post any errors but as our single thread is of a completely different nature than the ones in here it had to be this way. I also do apologize for spelling errors - but I had a hard time translating all this stuff and I simply refuse to correct any erros right now... Though, I hope this is a kind of help to the devs I especially point out these two occurances: Having a platoon of infantry in space Being able to view the entire map by using the cinematic view You can view the entire 'Bugs and Feedback' Thread here: http://www.cncforen.de/showthread.php?t=66088 (7 Pages, german, 30 posting each) To devs: If you are requiring more information, please contact webmaster@sw-eaw.de and include my name into the topic. I will try to act as your interpreter and to make more information available from the individuals who experienced bugs or errors (screens, reproduce....)

Well, does it take the proprotional amount of time to produce new units for your assault? I mean, if you can buy another fleet or 2 or 3.... they can repair their base, don't they? Also take this into consideration.

Please give us an interface on max. zoom out
Sven replied to Sven's topic in EAW Issue Reports and Tech Support
Remember Tiberian Dawn? There you were able to hide the bar -
I had retreatet on Tatooine after I destroyed 2 of the 3 larger turrets and the device that actually makes the shield (not the generator). When I came back with new troops, that device was not rebuilt but the turrets were.

Topic title says it all.... It's absolutely great to have the ability to zoom out that far, it's just fantastic. But why the heck did you remove the interface in this view? Would be just unbeatable if you'd put it in for the game itself, Devs All: Please support this topic if you also want the interface on max zoom level

I wouldn't be surprised if the old C&C modding tools would work

Official Thread - General Positive/Negative Feedback
Sven replied to Delphi-PG's topic in EAW Issue Reports and Tech Support
Here are some first comments from the users of cncforen.de. We made a thread to collect user input and comments from german players who prefer to post in german. So I'm translating those and posting them in here: My personal comments: On both, space and land, using the highest zoom-out (great that a zooming factor like this was implemented at all ), triangles are appearing at the edges of the screen, flashing towards the cursor. As soon as I zoom in again they are gone. I experienced the same while playing HL2 and I assume it's because of WinXP 64bit (as I haven't had that using WinXP 32). But I'm going to install the demo on WinXP 32 as well to make sure it's related to the OS. Next thing: The engines suffers from high objects on planets, such as rocks. It stucks a little then while I'm scrolling. But this is something every 3D RTS Engine has. And one more: Using the 'Auto Detect' button in the video settings will set a resolution of 1024x768 with with details in the lower third of the bar. Having an AMD Athlon 3200+ 64bit, 1GB of RAM and a GeForce 6600GT this is weird. I'm playing on 1280x1024 with full details and it's running flawlessly. Besides this it's a great game as far as I can tell from playing the demo. Petroglyph made their promise come true. The game seems to have a lot of the good things that the name 'Westwood' once stood for. I'm very, very excited and can't wait for the release of the game! Compare this to Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth 2? LOL! -
Great one... Picks up Westwood tradition and mixes it with the Star Wars universe
-
It's just 6 minutes - but the time is wrong.... Someone should fix that (when there are few users on - may cause errors if done at a crowded time -> Postings getting mixed)

This was just posted on pcgames.de: Translation: PC Games is one of the best known german gaming magazines so the news should be real. Anyway: They also refuse to name a specific date for the release. Link: http://www.pcgames.de/?article_id=442820 Another popular german mag is posting the same information: http://www.gamestar.de/news/pc-spiele/strategie/30736/ So it should be real
-
I'm wondering why you don't simply order an own domain for the forums... Something like pff-community.com or whatever.
-
Take a look over here: http://www.sw-eaw.de/chris_rubyor.htm The picture on the site is showing Chris while working for Westwood Studios. So It's not a new one but shows him as a portrait
