5 Q&A - (Delphi pick up)
NightmareKato replied to Ghostly_Substance's topic in EAW General Discussion
Give the poor sap a break, he's probably been too busy drooling over the Playstation 3.... -
Venator is out... Officially
NightmareKato replied to Grand Admiral Thrawn 889's topic in EAW General Discussion
*pops open a bottle of vodka and chugs it in less than 60 seconds* Okay. All of you shaddap and deal with it. It's a game. Deal. It's a world. Deal. And people are idiots. Deal with it. Now shut up and go kiss an Ass. -
Don't forget. There will most likely be the 181st, and those suckers ARE in TIE Interceptors, although we're likely to see them in just Fighters.
-
If he means a clone wars expansion, I'd think Petroglyph would design the game with the ability to operate various campaigns, for example one of them being "Galactic Civil War Campaign", and another being the "Clone Wars Campaign". It makes perfect sense because it makes adding expansions a lot easier.
-
Mods are not ready. Will be, the first full mods will probably start releasing about six months after the game release. And of course, Hapan Battle Dragons are one of the most nastiest ships I've ever read about. Very unique design worth talking about.

HIlarious, indeed. Although I didn't understand the reporter, I did get the joke.
-
I'd like official word on subtitles for cutscenes and such in the game, though! Waiting....
-
Since I'm deaf, and there's likelihood to have voice-guided messages or cutscene, will we have subtitling? If not, I would be VERY displeased....wouldn't work out for me very well. In Rebellion, I keep seeing that the droids are saying something. But guess what? No subtitles...so it was very frustrating to keep on the ball. Side Note: I was the one that influenced The Suffering: Ties That Bind to have subtitling.

it's BORLEIAS, YOU DUMBASSES! Not Borealis. Jesus CHRIST. Get your spelling right. Blackmoon was freaking BORLEIAS.

It's been CONFIRMED TEN TIMES OVER that the SSD IS NOT (censored by mod) IN THE GAME. It will be modded in by Legacy of War and other mods. So shut up about the SSD. It's a question that gets asked more than a hundred times a month and it gets annoying in a short amount of time. Next turd to ask about the SSD is going to be recommended for a ban. You could but maybe I should recommend you. Yes I know that December is here but its a time for happiness so if your mad go punch a punching bag.

I say the Devs need to do a little more legwork and save themselves the trouble of actually coming up with ships that can fill in roles that are already filled in by ships that are in the Universe. Dreadnaughts for one, are Pre-Clone Wars. Definitely HAS to be in, otherwise Petroglyph will end up pissing off a lot of SW purists out there.
-
And fourth. Stop dissing Lucas and Star Wars in general (that includes EU and canon), it gets old fast.

First, katana fleet is a valuable asset. Second, we at LoW will not make it easy to find, mind you. How we'll set it up, that's for us to know, and for you to find out when the mod comes. And third, shut up about the fleet. It's a good way to suddenly tip the balance of the losing side into winning if you somehow come across a fleet of Dreadnaughts in space out of pure luck, or through sleuthing. (More likely it'll be tracking it down, and such).

Capital ships or fighters?
NightmareKato replied to General Ackbar's topic in EAW General Discussion
To answer your question about the Sun Crusher. It is an experimental ship loaded with Nova-Buster Missiles, designed to cause a system's star to go supernova and incinerate everything. Also, the Sun Crusher is invulnerable due to its construction. There was an excerpt of the Hydra, one of Daala's Imperial Star Destroyers (not a Deuce) being torn apart by the Sun Crusher by simply ramming clean through the Bridge. The Hydra then sank into the Maw. -
Capturing ships?
NightmareKato replied to Grand Admiral Thrawn 889's topic in EAW General Discussion
If you look closely, that AT-ST looks like it has a more elongated cabin and a barrel on top. This is most likely Clone Wars vintage, probably. -
Still hope for the B-wing and Interceptor
NightmareKato replied to Nevets's topic in EAW General Discussion
Quick note about the B-Wing. I'm surprised nobody thought of this yet. Space is COLD, dudes. The engines will naturally be kept cool unless pushed beyond the limits. In atmosphere, you don't get the "coldness" of space, thus the intakes. Anywayyyy....this of course brings into question the B-Wing's effectiveness in hot systems. -

NightmareKato replied to Nevets's topic in EAW General Discussion
Bryant. Shut up, and get off the forums if you're going to start being a dick like that. That kind of behavior isn't welcome here at PFF. Anyway. One point of contention about your little B-Wing model... TOO. MANY. POLYGONS. Remember,t his is a RTS, not a heavily graphics intenstive game like a space sim. You don't want to overload your game with high detail stuff that would have been better spent processing data from an ongoing space battle. Besides, not many people will bother to look at the B-Wings up close and personal. -
Capturing ships?
NightmareKato replied to Grand Admiral Thrawn 889's topic in EAW General Discussion
Yup. It would add a psychological level to the game. Plus it was possible for the Rebels to capture an ISD. -
Also, Yaga Minor is where the Ubitorquate base is. As stated in the Hand of Thrawn duology.
-
I'll name my flagship ISD: The Crystal Fire.

Planets that may be in eaw ....
NightmareKato replied to ISD PRIDE's topic in EAW General Discussion
Pride actually supplied us with nearly all the planets that are known in the Galaxy. Definitely NOT going to be in the game, booyah. Anyway, this topic is a bit overdone. -
If you ask me, it looks a lot more like an Ugly. (Uglies are more commonly attributed to being B-TIE's, TYE-Wings, and X-TIE's. B-Ties = TIE Fighteres with B-Wing parts. TYE-Wings = TIE Ball cockpit with Y-Wing Engines X-TIE's = X-Wing with TIE Solar Panels.

Borleias and Thyferra (that is the correct spell!) are definitely going to have to be in. Wayland? Not so important, but it IS a place with cloning vats that Thrawn used. And Honoghr. A place to gain Noghri warriors, definitely!

My first EaW video: "The basics of Rebellion". It'll basically outline all important points of fleet warfare...then moving onto more advanced tactics in future series. The series will probably be aimed at teaching newbies in EaW the fundamentals of tactics. Teaching manuevers such as the Ackbar Slash and Thrawn Pincer, among others. The series name: TBD (Suggestions welcome )

I noticed that the starfighters looked "too big" for them to look like they could even enter a capital ship's hangar safely without tearing its wings off. I realize this is a game mechanic designed for the player to easily see where all the starfighteres are, but what I'm curious about is, to keep things more realistic for the sake of "simulation" or machinima film production... Will there be an option to "re-scale" the starfighter models to an appropriate size relative to their capital-ship counterparts? With this option turned on, the starfighters would be barely discernible, but for pre-scripted events with camera control...wouldn't be a problem. It SHOULD be a toggleable feature if you want to "watch" how the fight plays out under the AI control, and if you want to take charge yourself, the game toggles the starfighters to the "easy to spot a hutt" size setting. Thoughts?
