Thanks Man, ill start looking for an extractor EDIT: Ok i got a program here that extracts each individual ALA and ALO (or whatever) files from the Meg file. Now... Is there any way to convert other 3d file formats into that format? Thanks!

How do you go about editting it? I assume this is how we go about modding the game but the file is so darn huge, i cant open it in notepad, the only thing i tried was opening it in an html document but it took forever, it is of course close to 700 Mb and im not on a crap computer. Is there a special program for editting the meg file? Or is this not the way to mod the game? Also what format (if anyone knows) are the 3d files for the game?

I just remembered when we used to hypothesize our demise after the release of the game. Now we were of course just joking around but i just thought it was funny, its out, and were still here, and havent been overrun with n00b questions/problems... Yet jk lol Hope everyones doing well!

I was actually about to make a post. I have always loved submarines and have never played a sub-sim game. I was actually making a little flash one, not much but the same concept (you control the sub through its bearing, speed, depth, etc. You dont actually move it with the mouse or keyboard arrows, etc.) Anyway... Ill keep my eye on this thread. I would love some suggestions

Well first you guys need to realize that this would never happen. It's too big of an industry. Let's not get started on US politics because then i will go at it trust me on that . Some of you who have been around for a while saw the arguement myself and anothre member got in over the war in Iraq. I dont agree with this bill first of all. People who commit violent acts from video games have a mental disability. They are not able to distinguish reality from a video game, they need psychiatric help. Secondly most parents in this country need a scapegoat. They say "My child would never do that! They are an angel ( : )! Its the video games fault!" Or "Its the televisions fault!" or "Its the internets fault!" etc. Parents in this country need to own up to the fact that their children are not perfect and blame THEMSELVES. After all who influence more than 95% of a childs opinions, thoughts, actions, etc. Their PARENTS! On a side note, parents need to beat their kids more. No one hits their kids anymore or disciplines them for that matter. Thats a major problem in this country too. My 2 cents.

Hi all, this will just take a sec. As many if not all of the Bs members know today our Fleet Admiral made some changes that pissed everyone (including me) off. And now that we all argued he has destroyed blacksquadron. Last i heard Gravity and KaBoom are working to remake it better than ever. Yeah, i havent got the demo yet... friend of mine mailed it to me, should get it in a day or two. But i am definitely getting it. Although i dont think you can really put EaW and Rebellion on the same level. EaW is an RTS. Rebellion was like a grand strategy game. Just my 2 cents. Rebellion was good though dont get me wrong

I cant play it well, cause i still have 56k, i must be the only person in the world, and the phone company doesnt look like they are going to put new lines in for DSL for a while (even though they said it was supposed to be done months ago ) How is it to those who have played? My one friend is downloading it now. Anybody wanna mail me a CD of it? lol

Just wanted to comment you guys on the good job you did! They look awesome, i just watched (literally just now) the new style get uploaded, it booted me off in the process but thats ok. I like the new look. Sounds good! I will see to it that the link on Blacksquadron.org is fixed. Hopefully the move will go well, our forum server update on BS did not, lol we have been offline for like 2 weeks, but were back up now! I hope we dont have anything like that happen to us here. Cross your fingers everyone!

Cool, i like the idea, it also changes the game a little to the effect that maybe you want to capture a planet for the species there (Noghri Death Commandos anyone? )

I HATE pop caps, but as was said earlier hopefully they will be modifiable through the XML files. That'd be nice
