  3. Lets get EAW out first and then we'll discuss the future. =)
  4. In the game, will the Venator-class be used more as a fleet carrier or as a conventional "all-round" warship like the Imperial-class? It is a general warship. Keep in mind it is considered old tech, so SD's are far more powerful.
  5. Delphi: you're sure that what you're talking about is the Venator, and not the Acclamator? We will actually have two Clone Wars-era Star Destroyers? I'm sure since we have both.
  6. I'm courious - how can be mods supported by the devs ? Depends on the company; more specifically Lucas. As a designer and ex-community manager I believe in the mod community and longevity they add to a products life. Myself and many others at Petro are looking forward too seeing what you guys create and how we can better support you for the future.
  7. This is of course possible, but I think that the way Petroglyph is doing EAW with the extreme moddability, there will not be a need for an expansion. Mods are nice, but they never seem to have that official feel to them. So do we have something planned post EAW, you betcha! Instead of focusing on the future though, I rather zoom in on the present and make a fun solid strategy game fans can enjoy. =)
  8. Hey i have notepad, but i don't know how to mod EaW, that is the thing im most confused!! When the game and editor are released, we'll make sure to have plenty of info for you.

I understand people being a bit disappointed, afterall info has only been slowly leaked out so it's hard not to want specific units. =) Keep in mind we are working to make a very fun game based around the episode 4 time-line. Also, we do have a variety of old tech units (EP 3 Venitor) in the game. Just hang tight, Lucas will release more info very very soon. In the mean-time I leak as much as I can.
  10. There are no official expansion packs announced yet, anything being created is third party. As for editing XML, notepad is fine, Visual Studio is better. =) I'm sure you can download some freeware programs that work much better than notepad.
  11. Always happy to work with you guys. I just want to make sure the correct info gets out and our game is positioned in the right spotlight. I'll check in later, have a multiplayer Dagobah map to tweak and polish.
  12. This kind of drops EAW to the level of modding Star Wars on top of an existing RTS. I was hoping for something more inovative and complete. The game is going to be very complete and a lot of fun. But we are very aware that not everyone can be pleased. We'll do our best though.
  13. How then do you justify the inclusion of the Century Tank (also nicknamed the TIE Tank and TIE Crawler), which was produced for the first time in the period following the Battle of Endor? Easy, we have Tie Maulers developed before Tie Crawlers. It is easy to get them confused, as it happens a lot here.
  14. From what I could tell, the Death Star in EAW is not a complete separately modelled ship. If it was, you would be able to select a target for it... unless it has turbolasers and the system destruction is a special feature tacked on to it. If this is the case, there may be hope for taking pieces of that to construct a mod DSII. Who knows. Actually it is, but it is not designed to fly around a tactical map like an X-wing, Mon Cal, or Imperial SD. The DS takes time to position in galactic and is slow to move in tactical. Heck if you want to make it a DS II go into the XML and adjust the size by half. Instant DSII.
  15. Is the milestone part we were told about finished? Yes, but we have one two left. Beta, and then a race to the finish. =)
  16. If it ends at Ep 4, why do we see the scene in Ep 6 with the Emperor coming aboard the Death Star 2 in the trailor. Keep in mind, the first Death Star went through a contruction phase too. =)
  17. That sucks. Its a really short game then Crying or Very sad Not really, the game does take place 3-4 years before EP 4 and ends at EP 4. We've added a lot of stuff and fiction to keep fans happy. =) Though it is one of many missions, aquiring X-wing technology is pretty darn cool. =P Man, I better stop with the info before I get a whip too the back.[/i]
  18. Keep in mind, many powers from the Germany preview have changed. Some powers were either renamed or replaced with something more fun.

  20. At the end of the day our goal is to make the units fun and combat fast, fun and strategic. So if we have to deviate from the movie balance some in order to make a fun game, than so be it. =)
  21. Not at all! Fighters entangle each other much like the movies. At any time you can pull them out of combat to a safe area.
  22. The game ends at the Battle of Yavin (episode 4)
  23. ... or the Timeline is completely wrong ... We just go by what we are told from Lucas lore. =)
  24. Ooh! I can answer this one! Umm, lets seem ObiWan (General Kenobi) has force protect. =)
  25. Sorry you're not a fan of the tech. Sadly, this is a lore issue. I will say there are units in the game we created that are new and fresh. =) Besides, there is no reason fans can't mod in their own units.
