  1. i believe you are right what you saw, idk what that means exactlly, but i think when it says 1/6 so and so, it has been upgraded once, kinda like in RoN campaign where the cities were certain levels determiend how upgraded they were. i figured there'd be some form of build slots and building upgrades for EAW.
  2. well, after i analyzed that 47min video on full screen. I noticed there are build slots after all. Looks similair to how it was in rebellion, how they would put used slots and remaining slots on the same bar and such. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v511/_Giallorossi_/wmplayer2005-06-0220-35-13-51.jpg well anyways, there looks to be build slots afterall, on EAW btw, i have good reason to believe there will be weather effects in the game. time on movie when the screenshot was taken: 28:26 - marcus
  3. if i personally was fighting against some1 who likes to mass fleets, first i would get him on the defensive by attacking several planets very early, make him have to split his fleets early is the only way he would stop me. So therefore a super fleets type player would have his plan turned inside out by me ^^ The Empire's main power comes from it's overwhelming numbers in its Fleets, the rebels can counter that by making him spread out, that is the only way i see the rebels able to win on MP 1v1 galactic campaign. lol it'd be a dream come true if a rebel tried to match the empire in fleet power.....i'd crush him like a bug
  4. if they want to mass fleets, thats their own mistake. If they leave planets unguarded, they will surely be invaded. After they lose alot on MP they will realise that there generally is no master strategy, everything has a downside to it :\ welcome to the forums
  5. blah...pop limits suck. Plain and simple, if you allow your enemy to make super fleets, it's your own fault for not attacking him, and forcing him to use resources to prevent you from taking over his planets.
  6. and what about that virus which was invented to kill aliens on coruscant?
  7. there are some good AoE3 E3 videos out.
  8. hmm that site was informative....thanks ^^
  9. allright, i palyed SW:Rebellion and Thrawn was an imperial admiral. but explain to me what exactlly he did over his course of lifetime. didn't he like betray the empire or somethin? ~
  10. Faction: the Rebellion...ofcourse Goal of the tactic: Reduce the power of the Imperial Fleet by keeping them occupied behind their front lines with diversionary attacks, which i will then setup with a major offensive at their most prized planets. Opening moves: whomever played SW: Rebellion knows what i am talking about if they have ever palyed as the rebels in that game. And that is you start out hidden from the Imperials. So you are able to launch hit and run missions on any imperial planet you wish, aslong as they dont have a fleet there to stop you. I am also basing this strat off of the possibility where you can send rebel fighters in hyper space without having a capital ship along with them to provide hangars. Well anyways, back to the tactic. I plan on making mainly x-wings and y-wings at the beginning of the game, while fortifying my planets that are closest to the imperials. Then before the imperials can close all the holes to their hyper space lanes, i will want several fighter wings and a few cap ships allready behind their protected planets. I want them to think i am directlly tragetting their facilities, and that im not trying to hide my plan. The more resources they direct towards fortifying their planets and not on those fleets protecting the hyper space lanes, the better it is for me. Cuz i will try and get a massive fleet together and break through their fleets one by one, while they are seperated from each other. 'But what if they keep their fleet together and not fall into my trap?' then i will continually destroy their shipyards and stuff that they value, until he decides to look for my planets, or tries to hunt down my rogue fleets behind his lines. The whole purpose of this tactic is to weaken the imperial fleet by keeping it seperated. Cuz lets face it...the rebels can't over power the imperials, it will take true tactics and stealth to beat the imperials. Weakness: I think that a defensive imperial who leaves fleets behind his main front lines, can prevent me from raiding. Or an Imperial who effectively takes over my planets one by one. Which would then cause me to divert production to my main fleet early on. - marcus
  11. i prefer to do strats that can produce huge numbers of QUALITY troops, or rush and keep my enemy from getting to the same numbers of quality troops i want to be at, but early on i think quantity will matter over quality. speaking of which, i will now begin to type up my Rebellion strat that i have. - marcus
  12. allright, next question. I read on theforce.net about how there was this virus that would kill aliens only, soem guy wanted to make the rebellion look bad before they took over as new republic, explain what happened, and explain the person who invented the virus plz. - marcus
  13. i'm an aggressive person in RTS games. I'm allways willing to rush the opponent, get them on the defensive. I learned it the hard way when i first started playing RTS games over Multi Player. I was allways put on the defensive, thus the opposition could dictate the pace of the game and raid me relentlessly. But then i learned to be aggressive, and thus i beat most ppl cuz i was able to get them scared and making useless defences ^^ even if the rebels dont make a fleet and switch to a defensive mode (which i hope they do), then my strategy will have worked. It will destroy the rebels sneak attacks. and it will hurt their chances of ever taking over any of my planets. Without a huge opposition fleet, i can cut costs on my own fleet, and switch to making armies and researching far advanced technology then the person who is constantly building turrents and other expensive buildings
  14. ok...what's this about somebody found a way to unify the force after being tortured by the vong or w/e... and about how there is no such thing as the dark side..? the new jedi order
  15. i know almost nothing about the Expanded Universe (EU) -.-
  16. thanks and yea, no resource gathering is really good. I allways hated doing that in other RTS games
  17. hyper space routes create choke points, so the only way a fleet will be able to get through my blockade, is to defeat my main fleet over that planet, and then defeat my reserve fleet that is hypering to the battle scene, then and only then will they control my planets ^^ idk if they will let just fighters hyper into a battle, it may require a cap ship to bring them to a certain place. i will be thinking of a rebel tactic and post it tomorrow ^_^
  18. well, actually to land your land forces, you have to defeat the defending fleet entirely.....i THINK. i'm not totally sure on that, but from the vids that is where i got this information from
  19. i got joshinator to come and explore these forums ^^ i must've been doin somethin right, to get an active poster like him here
  20. one last order to issue, GET more ppl to come to these forums so we can have even more feedback on topics
  21. The graphics for the base shields looked spectacular. I also liked that rebel artillery how it launched all those rockets and black smoke everywhere. It looked as if it was a big warzone after the battle had ended. The rancor killing an ATAT seemed a bit strange tho....ATAT's are much too big and heavy to be taking blows like that. Other then that, it looked pretty damn good. - marcus
  22. ah, so the EaW noobs should post their questions here and we reply to them the best we can i guess ^^
  23. Faction: Imperials Goal of the tactic: to stop Rebels from sneak attacking at locations which are unguarded, like what happened in SW: X-wing Alliance. Opening moves: what i would do at first is be aggressive and keep the rebels on their toes for the first half hour, i would try and dictate the pace of the game and the battles. Then i would try and secure all the hyper space lanes that are directly linked to my main planets, very early in the game. This will reduce the effects of the rebel sneak attacks to only a minimal threat. Once this has been achieved, i will put all my resources into producing larger and more powerful fleets then the rebels, instead of investing in ground forces. Thus i will only have 1 thing to spend my money on, rather then ground and space...which would eventually weaken my strangle hold on stopping what the rebels are best at. If all goes well, i should have much larger space fleets then the rebels, then i'd start to produce ground forces, to invade the weakened rebels, who must reduce spending on ground forces to make space fleets to try and match mine. Weakness: by my calculations, if this strat isn't done early enough, it will fail. Also if the rebels mass a huge fleet early on and bust through one of blockades, it will cause a collapse. The way to stop this is to have small reserve fleets that can come in as reinforcements which are behind your front lines. What i based this tactic off of: World War 1, how they would fortify front lines and have reinforcements behind that. So if the enemy broke through, the reinforcements would quickly fill back the lines. Thus eventually weakening the attacker to a point he could no longer launch offences any feedback that you think could improve this strat, is very much welcome ^^ enjoy, marcus
  24. this part of the forum is for letting ppl know about EaW, sort of liek this category is taking over the rold of the general discussion, adn the general discussion will be about more advanced issues of eaw, such as speculating what will be in the game, not what really is in it.
  25. hehe, the 2 wolf's on this forum moderating same part of forum what should we discuss on this part of the forum anyways?
