Hahahaha Incidentally, according to a book that lurks in my bathroom that is read in the bath, a Spartan king was once fined for marrying a short woman and subsequently producing 'kinglets,' as they were described at the time..
  5. He is a sinister fiend master who plots and schemes all kinds of diabolical stuff. He used to blow people up with terrible cunning before he worked out the more I was thoroughly pissed off would directly equal a distinct lack of supper on his behalf during the course of the evening. Now he lurks in the shadows, devising hideous stuff, such as the mutilation and downfall of mankind, with apocalyptic vengeance and machiavellian cunning... *shudders* Anyway, I give you the Chamelephant: Clicky for more boredom I had at work with the same pic
  6. I laughed my head off!
  7. http://www2.b3ta.com/host/creative/9805/1174910761.gif Actually he-who-shall-not-be-named was last seen in London Zoo's reptile house, causing havoc as usual..

  9. Yay! Motion passed! Mad and me made a new rule! All obay or we'll send round some guy we know called Ahmed: http://www.onmovin.com/FILE/amaj3.jpg He's a bit of a nutter..
  10. I must confess that I don't have the time to click on posts with multiple links. Which is a shame given i'm probably missing funny or interesting stuff. Perhaps we should limit our 'random' links to one per post, and with a brief description of what it is in order to make the thread less of a hectic headache..
  11. Budious neglected to point out that Hezbollah, crossed the Israeli border and murdered Israeli soldiers before their kidnapping. An act of provocation or what! I can't say I was surprised a lot of Lebanon was reduced to rubble as a consequence. And despite the rather un-victorious Israeli withdrawal, Hezbollah shot themselves in the foot in the lon run over this one, given all it will have done is make one of the world's finest armies restructure it's order of battle and make it a far more efficient killing machine the next time Israel is attacked by the Muslim world. Given the Muslims are currently killing themselves, despite the Saudi so called peace accord, in Lebanon, Israel will further have the time to assess what went wrong in their justifiable retaliation against Hezbollah and the nation that harbours them. The current situation is different. The UN has just past further sanctions against Iran for it's insistence on it's nuclear programme, and it's economy is already in serious trouble. The kidnapping of British personnel is a typical reaction of a regime in trouble, to divert attention from an ailing economy. We shall see what happens. The Iranians know you guys and my lot are bogged down in Iraq and Afghanistan fighting religious lunatics, so perhaps they are testing the water as to how they can go.
  12. 'Bringing it upon themselves,' being the point to stress I think. I seem to remember the Iranians pulling off a stunt like this not so long ago, and we got our service-personnel back after three or four days. But we shall see..
  13. Nice one B-fella! I shall look into this tomorrow when the pub has worn off..
  14. That's actually an excellent read D-fella , and what nordwindranger said, I shall now catch up...
  15. Your link only works if you're in the UK Why is content available to UK residents only? Hey J, can you setup a proxy for us? Emm.. a proxy? I wouldn't know where to begin Tex. If it's something I can do via my web space at jahled.co.uk, then feel free to present some instructions (a genuine idiot could follow) and i'll give it a go..
  16. Our lives are complete! Does this mean SOCL, that you got a job at the Smithsonian National Zoo? Well done dude! The Duke of Edinburgh (the Queen's other half) will be opening our new Gorilla Kingdom exhibit at the end of the month, with the usual very small chance he'll want to visit the library.. (actually, perhaps that's why I had two detectives interview me a while ago over some minor incident with a visitor, I remember thinking it was a bit of an overkill at the time.. ) Completely off topic lovely link Basically, you rotate the earth and choose somewhere, like Australia, and it zooms in highlighting various short films about nature. Good stuff for an idle or bored twn minutes at work.. Right, back on topic...
  17. Good grief that little fella is cute! Wierd to think they grow to be these huge great big tall things capable of ripping your head with a single swipe. Clicky to make your own
  18. I'll quote myself again to try and help you understand what everybody else understood, Budious! It's not rocket science I've said previously i'm no scientist or expert on the subject, and I very much doubt you are, and if I could be arsed could undoubtably post loads of links 'proving' what i'm more or less inclined to believe to be the case (global warming is real, and humans are almost certainly to have been the cause for it), or links discrediting the arguments I disagree with. Oddly enough, given the volume of your anti-liberal rhetoric concerning the subject, I can't be arsed, because it's ultimately pointless, and certainly can't be arsed to invest the time. But it is ultimately this use of the term liberal which turns me off to any further interest trying to discuss the subject around here. Why am I a liberal for having a concern for global warming, and coming to the conclusion humanity is ultimately responsible? The majority of the world scientific community have come to the conclusion global warming is real, and that humans in some aspect are more or less responsible; how does proscribing to that belief make me liberal? Use of the word brakes down into meaninglessness in this context. I'm not, and I very much doubt SOCL, is some long haired anarchist hippy smoking dope 'appreciating,' woodland as some kind of 'cosmic experience.' I simply enjoy wildlife, and I guess you do as well dude! On a personal note, I get my kicks out of spending my lunch hour watching London Zoo's animals and their antics; the Otters are my favourite, and never fail to please! But on a wider note, you're average Joe family man, perhaps life long Republican voter, more directly appreciating North-America's wilderness and wildlife with his kids, perhaps bonding with kids shooting at some of it, is still going to be pissed if none of it is there because of climate change, or some industrial development destroys large swathes of his rural backyard he grew up with (and btw, I recently read in a journal we get, USA, Canada, Europe, and surprisingly China, are at the moment taking the lead in protecting forest reserves); but with your argument, would he be a liberal to protest against the destruction of a habitat his own father might have taught him how to shoot in as a kid? Ultimately: 'conservation'/'concern' for gloabl-warming doesn't = left wing politics ..sort of thing
  19. I was refering to the Encyclopedia entries we've got when you drop the Rebellion menu above this post, along side where it says Welcome Budious! Not that most experienced players would need it during general gameplay, but it certain situations it would serve it uses..
  20. I guess we've been waiting the 'travel distance' graph for years Tex, or for someone who could be bothered to do it! No seriously, good stuff Any such thing i'm sure would deserve a place on the site's game FAQ or encyclopedia I guess!
  21. Hurray! This calls for a WOO

  23. But with the Imperial Commando image third in!! And with swrebellion.com as the source! I've been meaning to approach the 501st Legion web site and see if they will let my mittens on some unshopped images of their members for a while now, loads of them must play Rebellion, given it is my suspicion a heck of alot of Star Wars fans still do, given RebEd's capacity for virtually unlimited editing in so far as the SW universe goes.. perhaps i'll see how bold i'm feeling a little later.. Back to your maintenance thought, even something as subtle as 50 changed to 100 would make the game very interesting indeed, I reckon. Anything to much over would make such stupid events as the AI blockading a system with a loan Gallowfree Transport, or even more absurd, with an unarmed Heavy troop transport, to dire..
