  1. My suggestion is to partition your hardrive and install 98 on one, XP on the second, and Vista on the third (Or put Vista on C: if it's your main system). I still use 98 to play Rebellion because it works best on it. On XP it doesn't work for me worth dirt.
  2. Thanks a bundle!!!
  3. I'm looking for the download for the more accurate galaxy where Coruscant is in the very center and the core worlds surround it. I had it a few years ago, however I'd like to get it again. Cheers! Admiral8Q
  4. Ah crap, I missed the meet Better yet, send me an email But you know, DSL can't play with DSL
  5. I'm back at playing SWR again. I'm supprised no one has tried these firghters out. I found they work better than the original ones. I recomend playing them! And I would still like comments!!!!
  6. Has anyone tried these fighters? If so, I'd like to know what your oppinion is
  7. I'm still in Gamespy, sorry I was webbrowsing and missed you Oh Sihsboy, if you join a game through TCP IP it shouldn't cause a problem
  8. I've modified the fighters to balance them out more. TIE fighter - 33% cheaper to build and maintain. This makes them still useful to produce in large numbers even when the Interceptor has been researched. TIE Interceptor - No change TIE Bomber - Ion cannon 20% stronger TIE Defender - Ion cannons added. It always bugged me that the Defender didn't have Ion cannons in SWR because their design includes two Ion cannons. Y-Wing - Ion cannon 20% stronger, shields 28% stronger. This makes Y-wings, although old and slow, still somewhat effective later in the game. X-Wing - Unchanged A-Wing - slightly faster and more agile B-Wing - Improved shields and a slight increase in agility. Less than an X-wing, but more than a Y-wing I've uploaded the cards here. Try them out and tell me what you think. I had to cut the zip file in half so I could hotlink it. One has the Rebel starfighter cards, the other the Imperial ones. http://admiral8q.250free.com/rebellion/rebfighters.zip http://admiral8q.250free.com/rebellion/impfighters.zip Oh, these are to be loaded in RebED. Unzip them to a new folder, then load them one by one in RebED. Feedback would be apretiated. I've play tested all the modifications except the cheaper TIE fighters. It all seems to work well so far. I sent a Nebulon B frigate to an Imperial planet with 4 TIE interceptors and 4 TIE Defenders. My two A-wings dealt with the Interceptors, but the four Defenders completely knocked out the shields of my frigate before I had killed them all. Enjoy!
  9. Don't make the same mistake me and a friend made. He was hosting, but after 400 days the game crashed and he hadn't saved since about day 100 It's good for the host to save every 10 turns or so, just to be safe
  10. Yeah, the "New energy found" only gives 1 or 2 squares, whereas the "natural disaster" whipes it down to almost nothing. It's a serious flaw in the game
  11. I'm just installing Gamespy now. I should be in within the next 15 to 20 minutes EDIT: Ok all set. I'm sitting in the Rebellion room as Admiral_8Q
  12. Now doesn't that just plain suck
  13. Is there any way to shut off natural disasters? It's damn annoying.
  14. Thrawn90, I don't know if you still check these forums, but I'd be happy to play a game with you. I could give you advice as we play and point out any mistakes I see you make. There is alot to learn in SWR, hell I'm still learning strategies and tricks
  15. Ok I recieved you email I should be Admiral8Q in Gamespy, if I can remember my password By the way, it's 2:00 PM when I make this post. What time is it for you?
  16. Sounds good Viajero! 10 pm 0 GMT is 6 PM my time, about 4 hours from now. I'll meet you in Gamespy between 10 and 11 your time this evening. I have stuff to do right now, but I'll hopefully see you then. Are you under "Viajero" in Gamespy? I'll check back here in the forums also
  17. Cool, alot of people know a good strategy game when they see it. Rebellion, though old, I find still to be the best one out there. I don't use MSN or aim or whatnot. I only log into yahoo chat whn I'm actively going to chat, or meet someone. I don't like leaving it open when I'm not using it. Well, I'll be sending an email to all of you who posted here. Just tell me what days and times you can play, and tell me your timezone, (I'm at -4 GMT) I've played multi for the first time last week, it was intense! We played on a small map, I'm not too fond of the small map in multiplayer. It's really tough for the rebels unless you form some house rules. On Small Map we played with: 1. No assassination missions. 2. No abduction missions. (Only allowed on Mon Mothma, Luke, Vader, and the Emperor) 3. The Empire is not allowed to bombard any Rebel planets for the first 200 turns, (Assaults are ok) Anyways, I'm available for a game all this weekend (Oct 28 to 30) As long as we're not playing on a small map, then everything goes, no house rules are needed for fair play. Although I'm still not fond of assassination missions since there is only a limited number of characters. But we can talk about that before we start If you have Yaoo Chat, then we could meet there to set up the game. Or we could meet in Gamespy. Anyone is welcome to contact me for a game. Either reply here, I'll check back often, or email me at magellan{at}canada.com (replace the {at} with @) I'm looking for a long session, 5-10 hours of play. Admiral8Q
  18. Hey budious! I'm up for a game. I've sent you an email Please tell me you're not a small map fan Cheers!
  19. Ok, I'll be on the computer all night and morning, just relpy here and we could set up a game.
  20. I use Yahoo, my username is admiral8q I stay out of chatrooms most of the time and all that because I keep getting viruses and hacker attacks, so either give a time frame to meet on Yahoo, or email me when to meet in chat.
  21. I'd love to play multi! The computer AI is too easy to beat on any settings. Just name what you would prefere. I'm game for whatever you would like. Myself, I only play on huge map and expert in SP. But if you're not up for a long game, small map is still alright, but I have to warn you I've never ever lost, and I've been playing the game since it first came out. To be honest though, I've never played a human opponent yet. I'm itching for a real challenge. EDIT: I just realised I've never seen the losing movie scenes Well, I'm off to deliberately lose.
