  1. Okay, so I'm not exactly clear on whether or not you can have both Clonewars and Warlords mods installed at the same time, and if so, is there anything special that you have to do to make them work?
  2. This is just a guess, but it seems logical. The computer can do many things at once, and it is much smarter than you or I are. This means that it can micromanage its resourcing operations for maximum yield during minimum time by placing its refineries in exactly the right place at the right time. It knows which resource pockets to harvest when, and how to get its collectors from place to place in the quickest manner possible. There simply isn't a way that you can keep up short of destroying its miners constantly, which isn't really cost-effective. And usually, it doesn't matter. Once you max out on destroyers and frigates, there's little point in worrying about resources.
  3. And I'm assuming that Eville can't change the hardcoding, since it's provided by the user's machine rather than his mod, right? Oh, well. It was a thought.
  4. I was thinking of something similar. So, you've built up a goodly sized fleet, say 10 destroyers; the default max fleet size (it doesn't matter, for the sake of this discussion, if you play with more than that). Your enemy has the same. As the game currently stands, any ships 'captured' when your fleet size is at its maximum are disabled. Big whoop. But if you could still capture them and add them to your fleet, then capturing ships would suddenly become a major part of Warlords. It's probably a simple coding change to make it so that ships can be captured, but not built, when the particular class is maxed out. Opinions?
  5. Um, where do I unzip it to? (Since I'm an idiot)
  6. Oh, Bothan Assault Cruisers can hit refineries, as can Imperial I and II destroyers. Don't know if that's significant.
  7. Thanks.
  8. I find that sometimes my ships will refuse attack orders, particularly towards Refinery Ships. That is to say, I'll give an attack order, the ships will vector, but they won't fire. Often, this causes me to be unable to end a game without quitting, since I've glassed my opponent but their refineries are still cruising around. Is this going to be fixed in a later version?
  9. A scenario editor? Schweet. Sadly, I have no idea where it's to be found, but I want one!
  10. Sounds fine with me. .45 doesn't work that well anyway, for millions of reasons, so I'm hoping that .5 makes it more playable for me.
  11. Okay, so I downloaded VERY recently (less than a week ago). Is there any reason why I got .45 rather than .49997?
  12. Makes sense. Does Eville plan on fixing this? It's confusing for newbies.
  13. Imperator Star Destroyer. They're the basic Imperial Star Destroyer, but their proper class name is Imperator.
  14. Okay, so I was playing the game as the Empire, and I built an Imperator II. I looked at the attack rating, and saw that it was around 1450! WTF, mate. That's just over a quarter what the Imperator I was listed as. When I built and Imperator III, the same issue, attack at 1450. And yet, the Imperator II is supposed to be an improvement in every way over the Imperator I. I've noticed this discrepancy with other ships, too, although their class names don't spring to mind. I'll post them if I come across them again. Is the attack number correct? Am I hallucinating?
  15. Hm, well, I have seen improvement in this over the past few days, God knows why. Now it only happens occasionally when I save a game. Other than that, I'm fine. My main issue remains that the game just quits randomly, and that's 'cause of RAM. I might try a re-install at some point, though. EDIT: Did the re-isntall. The thing loads a bit faster, but the 'no disc in drive' issue remains. The disc isn't scratched at all, since it's new, but my cd drive is about four years old. Haven't had any problems with it before, though.
  16. Might having 261 MB RAM have something to do with it?
  17. Oh, indeed there is. Silly me. I officially need more RAM.
  18. I haven't seen an option for injections, or any size of starting resources beyond 10,000. Maybe I'm not looking.
  19. Sounds like a plan, thank you.
  20. Okay, I dunno if anyone mentioned this before, since I'm too lazy to read through the many pages of this thread. I love this mod, really. However, I've found that there's one major issue, and that's resource gathering. I'd like to see the limit of Mole Miners go up from 20, since that's really not enough to supply the kind of cash that especially the Empire needs in the late game. Both fleets have kickass cruisers, but I can never BUILD them because I'm too busy churning out Destroyers to keep up with the CPU. I think that having 40 rather than 20 mole miners would help this issue. Of course, I could just be bad at resource management. Another thought is this. All of the maps except Mon Calimari don't really have decently grouped resource pockets, but are instead spread all too randomly around, or are bunched in the centre where eventually all the players meet and have a numbers based slugfest. I think that more variation in map types would fix this problem.
  21. I have 261,392 KB of RAM.
  22. My processor is a Pentium IV, and my GFX card is an NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 420. Not being the most computer literate, I'm not sure what you mean by 'memory'. There are several different measurements, but my C: drive has 33.7 GB, although I'm not sure if that's what you're asking. Also, sometimes when I'm trying to save my games so that this isn't such a big problem, it tells me that I haven't inserted the HW2 disk, even though I have, and then closes. Is this just another manifestation of my computer being a bit too old/slow?
  23. The game randomly quits while a scenario is running. Nothing that I do seems to trigger this, it just does it every now and then. It always seems to quit a decent way into the scenario, soon after I start producing destroyers and such. Any help would be appreciated!
  24. Okay, so I've installed Warlords and am running Homeworld 2 version 1.1, but whenever I try to run Warlords from the shortcut on the desktop I get to the loading screen and all. But about halfway through the status bar (load level) A box pops up saying that the Homeworld 2 disc isn't in the drive. I check, and it is very much in the drive, but Warlords doesn't recognize it. What gives?
  25. Hey, first post and all that. So before I download Warlords/Clonewars, I want to know if I can still play Homeworld 2 after I've downloaded them, since I still think that it's a good game. Also, is the installation of the mod(s) a somewhat straightforward affair, or will I need to muck about with the game files?
