So on a "free" note, has anyone here tried out League of Legends yet? It's a completely free download that will waste a lot of your time... and I mean a LOT. Like, this kicks Starcraft II's @$$ for time wasting on my part. Lots of fun, a lot like DotA if you played that, but with more item build choice, and a bit more strategy. if anyone wants to play a match with me, my main account is CaptainCrispy (there may be a space- I forget) and my "scrub" (level 10 of 30) is Crispinator. Feel free to add me... oh, and as for the names... don't ask- you get nicknames during Fast Track Calculus. They stick.

Sooooooooo he's re-re-re-releasing those movies he made in the late seventies and early eighties, along with three movies that I routinely deny the existence of?

My roommate is getting one next year- I think we're just getting CoD MW2 for it, though.

Hah- get me to give up spamming you poor saps? Not on your life! Though I'll likely be a less frequent spammer. I didn't check very often during the year this year, and as I think I mentioned before, I have a job with the school that involves being a "cool guy" and keeping the freshmen on my floor (I'm a sophomore) entertained constantly with some variety of shenanigans for the floor to partake in. I don't know how often I'll log on between work and mandatory fun time. Sadly, I think this place may retire sometime soon, so I felt the need to get my thoughts out there while there was a chance they'd be seen. Rebellion was a great game, but after twelve years, I think it's probably retired... hell, I don't think I've played a game of it in over a year... I may well pull it out before I leave for my job in a few days...

So I joined these forums about five years back, when I was, as many of you will recall, a rather annoying, spam-tastic 14-year-old on the Internet. I've grown up into a rather annoying, spam-tastic 19-year-old on the Internet. I wasn't the world's most balanced kid back then, as was probably obvious- I didn't have a lot of friends I saw in the real world (as was probably obvious to those of you who remember it), and so I turned to my fellow Star Wars nerds for my friends and/or sanity. And you guys took me in. Not without grief, as one would probably expect, but you were a community and friends, people who shared my interests, talked about stuff I was interested in, and made me feel more global. People from New York, Texas, Canada, Georgia, Switzerland, Hungary- it was amazing to suddenly be able to say that I had friends in those countries, that I had friends period, even if I had never met them. Basically, this is a thank you to everyone for the last five years. These forums seem to be going the way of the dodo, with most of our guys absent, moving on with life (military, marriage, college, etc.) or, in one unfortunate case, passed on. I don't want to leave you guys without letting you all know how much you meant to me over the years, even if I don't tend to spam this place up like I once did. So thank you, everyone. I wish you all the best of luck in all your endeavors.

Woo! Keep up the good work, Mad! But remember, above all else: Stay neutral!

So speaking of glitchy, I bought Mass Effects 1 and 2 for PC yesterday, and it was a bear getting them to run. Now that they run, ME 1 crashes right before I get to actual gameplay on Eden Prime... Grr.... I'm browsing the Interwebs for tech support; looks like I'm not the only one with these issues.

I just picked up Oblivion: Game of the Year Edition for a song on Steam... lotsa fun. $8.50 for tons of entertainment, if a bit glitchy from time to time.... though that might be because I've played it way too dang much. thirty-some hours in three or four days. You know, a healthy amount.

Congratulations to both of you! Slightly more congratulations to Rob, given the non-mandatory nature of his accomplishment, but good to know that our resident Swiss Spammer survived the first half of his military career as well! As for Rob- enjoy Disney. It can be fun when it's not populated by stupid fat, ugly, recently-married tourists from crappy places like Upstate New York, and... oh, wait a sec.... You'll enjoy it, mate. Congratulations on the marriage!

I just got ahold of Medieval Total War II- haven't tried it out yet, but it's supposed to be good... and it was cheaper than Empire: Total War or Napoleon: Total War, so I figured, "What the heck- even if it is finals week in nine days?"

I got the job! And to answer your questions, I will live on a different floor (the attic) of my current residence hall, free of charge, and I will also receive a pretty low paycheck. But then, let's take a look at this job: I'm being paid to live in one of the best dorms by location, play video games, and not grow up. I don't know about you folks, but I think I'm an excellent candidate for this job! Oh, yeah- I'm pretty sure I'm supposed to do homework and go to some classes somewhere in the middle of it all, too. Some stupid minor stipulation of the job. Oh, yeah, and it's not just for next semester- it's for next year. I'm so stoked, because one of my current Sophomore Advisers will be my boss next year, and my roommate's going to be so much more awesome than my current one (and my first roommate while I've been here who won't have tourettes syndrome, or go to bed relatively early!)

"If it goes 'crash' when you throw it out the window, it's hardware" As for Rob: I hope your bachelor party is all that you wish it to be and more, mate- one last epic Man Night. As for myself, I find out at 3:30 PM today (the 30th.. it's 3AM here- that technically makes it today) whether or not I'm a Sophomore Adviser for a freshman residence hall. Basically, I'd be paid (not a whole lot, but I'd still be paid) to live on a freshman floor for a second year with a roommate who's meant to compliment my personality, make my room into an epic partying room, and keep silly little freshmen from being overwhelmed by their homework and newfound freedom during their first year of college. Sophomore Adviser (AKA "SA") is sort of like a seriously toned-down RA. We have a job of being friendly with the floor and being there for people when they need us, but we don't have to enforce any of the rules whatsoever. So yeah, tomorrow I, along with 50-some odd candidates find out if we got any one of the 24 available job offerings. Fingers crossed and all that- I'll be raising a glass this evening either way, Rob.

I'm excited for it, despite the fact that I don't get commedy central at school. Hulu ought to do it, though. This is really good timing since I finally watched Into the Wild Green Yonder the other day.

Screw Lucas- make Admiral Ackabar, the quasi-legal mascot of a Southern School!

Best commercials ever!

Not if you're trying to do both at the same time. A friend and I were actually talking about trying to get together a posse to go hike some of the Appalachian Trail over Spring Break. Bring tents, maybe use some of the cabin systems if they're available, and just rough it for a few days. It'd be a fun trip, and would probably keep us pretty sober, seeing as a false step on the trail could lead to sudden, y'know, death, and all that. Thanks for the birthday wishes, guys! I appreciate them. And yes, I agree, Tex- I'm one hell of a lot less annoying than I was when I was all of 14. Yikes- it's eerie to think that I've been talking to all of you people via the Internet since I was that young... It's amazing how much stuff has changed since then, from site design to actually not being that pudgy little loser joined the site five years back (Now I'm a tall and skinny loser )

... aaaaaaaand I'm 19.

Yes, but there's an issue with it that I spot in the very first sentence: Star Wars Weekends is an annual special event at Disney's Hollywood Studios theme park that celebrates the epic space-fantasy Star Wars Saga and the new animated television series The Clone Wars. They're trying to celebrate something that cannot and should not be celebrated; it's like showing up to a funeral with party hats, or calling the other two Matrix movies good, and claiming that the fight scenes went on the perfect amount of time.

Borderlands is addicting as all hell... Some buddies and I just got it, and there are few things more satisfying than watching a Badass Bruiser's blow up into a bloody pulp when you shoot him with a high-powered Elemental sniper rifle. I highly recommend it! I've also been playing Prototype, which is pretty engaging. It's essentially a hack-and-slash game, with very little strategy to it, but you look so damn cool every time you do... well, anything, that you can't help but enjoy it. Plus, I enjoy the release that comes from mauling half the population of New York City.
