  8. i can only assume from reading this that your playing as the empire, good general tactics would be as follows... 1)as soon as the battle start pause it(if your playing against the comp, multiplayer youll just have to work faster at this point) and forget about the hammer anvil whatever bullshit 2)set your tie fighters to kill the rebel fighters 3)also set several small support ships to kill fighters as well, rebel fighters in any quantity, especially early in the game when you only have basic ties, will burn right through imperial fighters pretty quickly. cracken light cruisers work good for this earlier in the game, which is good cause theyre pretty worthless for anything else. 4)set all your remaining large ships to attack the large enemy ship you feel to be the biggest threat, i.e. the one that potentially will do the most damage to your fleet. 5)unpause(or in the case of multiplayer it wouldnt be paused at this point) and click on the targeted enemy ship, when its weapons are no longer functional, move on the the next most powerful enemy ship. 6)when all the enemy fighters have been cleared, assign you remaining fighters and smaller ships to kill the same ship the rest of your fleet is working on 7)continue to move from ship to ship in this manner till the enemy fleet begins to turn and run, or in the case of multiplay opponents too stupid to run(there are a few even when they have no ships capable of fireing at you ) until they have no ships capable of doing damage 8)as the enemy fleet attempts to flee pick out the largest most valuably ship, the one that tkaes the longest and most resources for your oppenant to build and attack with your fleet. a good portion of your oppents fleet may escape, but ussually youll kill at least that expensive ship and severly damge many of the others, while hopefully minimizing the damage to yours by nuetralizing you opponents weapons.

  11. i had a prob like that on an old computer if you comp or cd drive is too slow the sound wont read well off the disc, if your not doing so already try doing a full install(i know this takes up a bunch of space on an old shitty comp but what can you do). similiar problems still come up during cinimatics this way if your comp(or cd drive) is too slow, but it might help the sound during game play.
  12. i dont think it would be that bad without 3d movement. everyone seems to always get hung up on things like that these days, but there were great games that ignored such things back before there were 3d graffics to work with. wheres the love for the vintage games?
  13. logically a limiting factor on the speed of something with the disign of a star destroyer would be stopping time. you would have to get over its enertia to get it going quickly but you would also have to do the same to get it to stop. as physics teachers love to say, objects in motion want to stay in motion. here on earth with an atmosphere and what not there is friction to slow you down, but not in space. since there are not huge engines puting out large amounts of thrust in front of the ship, like in the back, max ship speeds would have to be limited in order to be able to bring the ship to a controlled stop within a reasonable amount of time. however its worth noting that this doesnt much matter for things like star destroyers because nothing in the star wars universe adheres to this particular rule of physics.

  17. yeah that sounds pretty cool. I have the new pirates game for pc, its an awesome game if a bit childish, but im not entirely convinced it would work in a star wars kinda way. I would certainly have to get a hold of a copy if it did though.
  18. i honestly dont know about most of that stuff, in fact i dont know much at all when it comes to rebed, but as far as saved games of course you can copy and paste them(assuming when you uninstall rebellion it even deletes them, many games give you the option not to). all you need to do is find the save files, i'm not certain about rebellion but in many games the files are named whateveryounamedit.sav, write down the folder you found them in and when you reinstall paste them back into the same folder. Its really pretty basic stuff, shouldnt be a problem at all.

  21. An AT-AT, now that would be something... at least if it was hollow, I'ld put a couch and a big ass tv and frigid full of beer and shit inside hehe... I could call some friends and be like "lets go party! where at you ask? well in side my life sized AT-AT of course". make for one hell of an interesting party.
  22. gotta agree with darthtex on that one, i hated the linear campains of those games, but if your going to make a more dynamic system you gotta do it right, no slackin on it, otherwise it will just come out like shit.
