  1. No what evaders means is that Relic wont release the actual code of HW2 for modders so Eville can only use the mod tools provided which means he can't change much of the original code e.g. AI, so until they release the source code it's unlikely Eville can do anything
  2. Hmmmm perhaps a better boarding/capturing procedure that would make certain larger cap ships more vulnerable than others and so on furthermore I was wondering if it is possible to change the code so captured production vessels could actually build enemey ships so it would be possible to say capture a Imp fighter factory and start building imperial ships. Just a though post back you thoughts on this. Thanks in advance Tom...
  3. If you got your old PC play it on that and keep saving for the 360!!!!!
  4. Hey everyone makes mistakes I guess it's easy really considering this is on the swrebellion site
  5. Darth Tofu this is the Warlords forum what Sirocco is referring to is nothing to do with Rebellion (Supremacy in Britain ). To answer your question Sirocco don't go by the values given they're not somethin' that you can judge a ship by. Read the stat descriptions and look at the number and rating of the Turbo lasers, lasers, torpedos, concussion missles, rockets, bombs, blasters and so on, then you can see quite easily which will have more offensive firepower. Hope this helps. Tom...
  6. Not with the disc recognition nope RAM wont play a part in that fact. Did you re-install HW2 from scratch etc? It could be just a bad installation.
  7. Hmmm interesting. Now as always tradition holds and I must make sure you've done a re-install to make sure it's not just a simple error and so on. Now to guess at something more along the lines of what the problem may be. The thing that is most obvious to me is a drity/damaged disc, check for scratches and dirt and if there are any clearly visible blemishes I hear cleaning it with a soft cloth and brasso practically repairs the disc to an original state. Next I'd say it could be your actual CD-Drive not functioning correctly check for firmwaare updates or it could be a windows error but I doubt that. Hope this helps good luck. Tom...
  8. It's not a problem questions are welcomed here and yours are just. The batteries are long range to an extent as most turbo lasers are. So the answer is yes they are long range. Tom...
  9. Agreeing with Evaders the Intel Chipset intergrated VGA systems are very bad on some games I have noticed a very uneven performance with them from experience and you will DEFINATELY need to invest in a real GFX card. Anything from a GF5xxx or ATI 9600 up will do good for HW2 and the mod. However isn't the Latitude a laptop? In which case upgrade to a new graphics card will be quite hard from what I hear. Good luck anyway. Tom...
  10. From what I gather Eville is going off technical specifications he's found online someplace I'm not too sure where exactly but whats in the specifications generally means it's in the mod. The venator will have side batteries but not as the film shows and I doubt they'll be as 'powerful' as they appear in the film. The film does show a nasty broadside from a venator however it could be the that the seperatist ship is already damage and it's shields are down and so on. But from experience this does not happen in the mod. Hope this helps. Tom...
  11. It may or may not work with your card but for $14 it's not a great deal to lose and then if it does/doesn't work you know what you have to do. I'd buy it for $14 thats very cheap after all and I think it will work but don't expect the mod to run much faster than most peoples even I get trouble. Anyway good luck hope you end up buying HW2 Tom...
  12. To be honest Sairen i've never pld anything other than those games types so i'm not sure whether it's the release or a conflict within your machine i'd just stick to playing what works and wait until the full version is released to get full functionality. I will have a look into your problem though and post back. Tom...
  13. Fulgrymm just creat 2 copies of the stock HW2 game and place the 2 different mods into the new folders and then use the shortcuts created by the installer and hey presto 2 mods that work oh so well hope this helps... Tom...
  14. All i know is without shields i could throw rocks at the windows and probably brake an ISD (well i couldn't i'm just trying to put my point across ) what i'm getting at is this when 'shields' do become a reality i'm sure we can go into intricate details then atm i'm just glad they protect my sodding ships from the hundreds of turbo lasers and torpedos hurled at them on a regular basis i'm sure you'll all agree that without them the game could prove quite different and i don't really mind what the geodosic domes are to me they're just koool and part of the ISD design for whatever theoretical purpose they serve or don't serve. Tom...
  15. Frogzilla in order to run both mods you must have them installed into FRESH or unmodded copies of the HW2 folder ie what i did was install HW2 and make 2 copies of it then i renamed the folders to 'Clone wars' and 'SWW' and installed the relavent mods into those directories and the installer then created shortcuts which are very handy indeed Hope this clears up your problem. Tom...
  16. My brother has always said he wanted 12 fighters in a squad he's a big moaner really but he's got a point. However i can see this changing the gameplay completely myself because of the greater number of fighters present on the battlefield and in some cases dramatically increasing the payload of missle/torpedo/rocket carrying squadrons thus also increasing the striking power of that squadron making cap ships almost vulnerable to the point where if you did raise hp and shield stats even a little you'd find fighter screens just running a mock through and entire fleet or destroyers and cruisers. Thats my personal opinion anyway. p.s. kudos to TFR-Ghost for apologising and making his point clearer
  17. TFR-Ghost no slamming other peoples machines please it's not necessary to get your point across talking like that isn't fair against whoever you directed the comment at if i were you i'd think about apologising but thats up to you. However back to the topic... I too would like to see a greater role that fighters could play as i find myself after about an hour forgetting that they exist maybe a new game type as was suggested seems like a good idea to me Tom
  18. (knowing the last post was 7 days ago) Adthrawn to find out you what video/gfx card you have just right-click on my computer and choose properties then go to the tab called 'Hardware' and click on 'Device manager' once in there expand the 'Display adapters' selection and it should tell you what card you have post back here (apologies if i've misread anything and you've actually said what your card is already i'll put it down to me being tired ) also from experience I was able to run this on a GF3 TI200 64mb gfx fairly well in high detail without many problems in most battles excluding the HUGE ones of course. Also from what i can gather most gfx cards that are fairly decent (128mb up ie GF5xxx series up and ATI 9xxx up) post HW2 will run the game with ease as it's not really the gfx card (excluding laptop models), in my experience that is the cause for 'lag' in most cases i'd put it down to CPU power. My advice to you would be to have a CPU equiv or above AMD athlonXP 2400+ or P4 2.6ghz and a gfx card with or above 128mb nVidia GF5xxx up or ATI 9xxx up (personally i wouldn't use ATI cards unless you're looking at 9600 series or greater as they don't perform as well as nVidias collection do from my experience). I hope this all helps and that it's not a bit too late to be of any use good luck anyway. Tom
  19. ARGH!!! what have i missed!!! i've been under a rock recently!!! *runs to find mirc on pc* i feel left out now gonna have to catch up..... (thought the forum was a bit too quiet really)
  20. sorry no harm meant i just didn't see what you meant nevermind
  21. what does that have to do with this topic??
  22. Well i think that confirms it
  23. GPU = Graphics processing unit
  24. I think i'll drop in the IRC and say 'Hi' on the weekend perhaps before but if not i'll try at teh weekend should be fun
  25. is that a laptop you're playing on??? because i think your GPU is letting you down the most however my GPU is 3 yrs old i just OC it to keep up with the changing times.... but none the less i've gone off topic now and i'll leave it at that...thanks
