  2. I just want to make sure that everyone knows the site staff is NOT developing this game. We are relying on other programmers who volunteer their time to develop a game which we can modify. I believe that an open source project would be a good idea if there is organization and communication. Good luck!
  3. Cain, stop taking this so seriously. I'm not fighting against you. You have yet to say specifically what you want to do, other than have a database. Until you come up with a plan for whatever you are trying to accomplish, I don't have any response for you.
  4. Its not that we don't want to discuss Star Wars. It's just that there are other sites that can be easily referenced. If you have a question about Star Wars, ask, discuss, debate... but don't just copy stuff from one site to ours. I don't know why you have to make this public, but this can be settled privately.

  6. Unfortunately there is no way to reduce the clicking. Rebellion is a mouse intensive game.

  11. Homeworld published by Sierra - company good with gaming mods. Their Homeworld modding community is thriving. Also the publishers of Halflife, allowing the widely popular Counterstrike mod as well as hundreds of other mods. There is a good system of developers and modders working together to keep the community together. LEC on the other hand... the closest moded things we have are the Jedi Outcast/Academy (read Quake 3 system) games and the Galactic Battlegrounds (read AOE) games. These are systems designed for multiplayer, but actual modding isn't much done here. The developers know what LEC will want.. or rather not want.. and any such attempts at source code would be frivilous and responded with scorn. There is no outside influence to these games.. on ideas or even suggestions. LEC is very closed about it will and will not do. I don't see them every laxing to allow such a moding community that we would want in a Rebellion game to see through. Good luck convincing someone, but honestly this isn't going to happen.
  12. You need an email provided by your ISP (no free emails). And your handle is the name of your character (not Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, etc, but an original name). Please post on their message board. I'm sure someone will help you out.
  13. I expect a small mod would be fair use. Those seem to survive well. Actual full games I expect would be shut down. No point.. I doubt LEC would give permission for any of it unless they plan to make their own game. Most likely they would used an established developer that has already had a hit game. --- Make your own game. And then make the tools (for us) to mod it
  14. Of course, I'd like to remind you not to infringe on Lucas's copywrites. Such a project could be shut down.. even if it just has the name Star Wars in the title. Generic terms would be best.. better, an original storyline and setup. Hyperspace is fine of course, "Star Destroyer" nope. Likewise an Alliance is fine, "Galactic Empire" would probably not be.

  16. Well as no two MC ships are alike, I doubt there's much of a standard description than what's available here: Search for MC at the Completely Unofficial SW Encyclopedia I'd check out the RPG game stats, as well as the X-Wing game stats.

  21. The hardest part is the Vong themselves. Have fun drawing them. BTW, NJO = New Jedi Order.. the multi-book series that starts 25 years after Episode 4.
  22. Get the actual images and you're set. Frankly, an NJO TC would be nearly impossible unless you want to draw everything yourself. There are not enough images of Vong ships, characters, etc to make this feasible. Good luck!

  25. I do recommend you put credits on your card... at least, from the database entry. Less we have people come and accuse the site of stealing. Probably good to add credits to your actual card text too.
