Did he sand between coats? My favourite on the list is Outrider, but I'm sure I could name a host of others I find interesting...
-
so far....u mean there are more coming? Doesnt the series deal with the Vong invasion? What else could happen? Well, the series was popular so I'm sure they'll find a way of squeezing more in (extra prequels to mid-series novels, perhaps.... ) I wish they would do that with the X-Wing series...
-
I believe there are 19 books in the series (so far).
-
Zsinj hardly made any direct appearances himself, so technically he was only 'in' about 3 or 4 books at the most (I agree, it sucks, I hate the way his character is so unexplored ). I'm pretty sure it follows Rogue Squadron during the Vong Invasion, but I think they've already dropped Wraith Squadron entirely (for now). Any confirmation, Trejiuvanat?
-
Doh! My mistake... So, wasn't Wraith Squadron with Intelligence to begin with? i thought they were only a secondary flight team and a Commando unit first...
-
The thought of EU movies makes me giddy!
-
Yeah, but they were reinstated for the Vong invasion I think. (See 60 Standard Minutes Episode #9 for more info. )
-
I still think it should have been Wraith Squadron who took Zsinj down. Most of their missions were anti-Zsinj, and they were formed as a new addition for the hunt for him. It would have been better if their efforts had amounted to something...

And a capable one, but my point was, having too many brilliant female warlords gets old after awhile (though I have to admit, Isard was the coolest and most unique). The initial shock of a high positioned female in a very sexist Empire wore off after the first three or four...
-
Daala wasn't an official Admiral either. Her lover, Tarkin, gave her that position secretly, for no matter how brilliant you were, if you were a female the Empire would still give you a hard time. Most were special cases, especially in the case of Isard, who actually got her position with consent of the Emperor.
-
That's most likely the reason. Imperial females were supposed to be rare, but there were quite a lot of them in high positions (more than you would have expected). I would understand if they were self-appointed, but most weren't. Isard was nothing new after Daala and Tavira and the 'evil female' thing started to lose significant impact.
-
Perhaps 'hate' was too strong a word. Let's change it to 'strong dislike', despite the fact that Zsinj was far more original than Isard.
-
Indeed, Zsinj does not appear until Allston carries on the series (and at first Zsinj himself hardly appears, having his subordinates doing all the real work and Zsinj just 'straw bossing'). Zsinj is meant to replace Isard (Stackpole's villain) after her apparent 'death'. Stackpole hated the Zsinj character (that Allston insisted upon) and was pleased he was killed before Stackpole returned to conclude the series, bringing back Isard in the seventh sequel (Book #8 ) Isard's Revenge.
-
You are correct. Allston's books start off with Rogue Squadron returning from Thyferra and Antilles's immediate formation and transferal to Wraith Squadron.
-
I'm afraid Zsinj is not in the first X-Wing book. (Trust me, I've looked)

Zsinj turned rogue just after the battle of Endor shortly after being comissioned his SSD (Iron Fist). I managed to get hold of a copy of 'Wraith Squadron' in which Zsinj makes brief appearances. It isn't the best book for information on Zsinj, but it's a start. It seems to me that he hired old tacticians to make plans for him and he carried them out with his vast resources and fire power. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the Razor's Kiss operation the only plan Zsinj came up with himself?
-
It costs nothing to reserve a book, but to transfer I think you must pay a small fee (especially for all four of the novel's Zsinj is in). I'll give it a try, but I'll probably end up just getting them from Amazon.com.

The full list was: 1: Vader 2: Thrawn 3: Fett ??? 4: Isard 5: Zsinj 6: Pellaeon 7: Piett 8: Veers 9: Palpatine 10: Needa (I'm surprised he made it, I thought Tarkin or Fel would be on here for sure) Anyway, back to Zsinj, I'm going to try once more to find him at Indigo (another branch of Chapters, but hopefully more competent). I'm not getting my hopes up. (I'd still appreciate any more Zsinj info just in case) Thanks.

Vader (Closely followed by Thrawn, of course.)

Well, he was insane, wasn't he? I suspect he would make some very big mistakes.

Thanks for your help. I had discovered a survey of the top 10 favourite Imperials (Original trilogy and Expanded Universe) and Zsinj was #5, so I expected him to be rather popular (I thought the poll looked official ). If information is based on popularity, why does Teradoc have more information than Zsinj? He's in even less books and I thought he was a bit of an idiot in Isard's Revenge (the only X-Wing book I managed to find that day). I was also under the impression that Zsinj was a brilliant tactician (so much for theForce.net). Thanks for clearing that up for me! I still have no idea why all his books are in short supply (there seems to be a plentiful stock of all the other X-Wing novels). I guess I'll never find out.

After reading the 'Thrawn Trliogy' for the first time, I became aware of the dozens of other post ROTJ novels. I did a little research and came across the Imperial Warlords. Trioculus, Moff Harsh, High Admiral Teradoc, and finally, Warlord Zsinj. A lot of sites mentioned him briefly, but very few had actual information about him. I was perplexed because I had found loads of pictures and biographies for the others, but not a single one of Zsinj. I finally found a vague description and short bio of him in the Force.net Encyclopedia. I also found out he was in the 'X-Wing' series. Seeing as how I had already read all about the other warlords, I thought I might as well read about Zsinj in more detail. Having enjoyed the first X-Wing books (in which Zsinj was disappointedly absent) I ventured to buy the sequels (with Zsinj ). I was, by now, very annoyed at not being able to find Zsinj anywhere. At my local book store, I searched for such books as Wedge's Gamble, Solo Command, Iron Fist, and The Courtship of Princess Leia in all of which Zsinj was the main villain. I was pleased that Zsinj would finally no longer be a mystery...but, wasted hope! The store had none of these books! I scoured the entire Science Fiction aisles, but no sign. They had all the X-Wing books except the ones where Zsinj was present! He had evaded me again! This seems to be the only picture of Zsinj ever made: http://www.starwars.jp/character/image/zsinj.jpg All other pictures (like my avatar) seem to come from this one. What I want to know is: What's the deal with Zsinj? Why is there so little about him on the internet? Why are his books so rare? I was under the impression that he was a popular character. Can anyone tell me? P.S. Anyone with further information about Zsinj (websites etc.), please contact me! For now, my search continues....

Funny, I only saw this version: http://www.funnyjunk.com/pages/star.htm The animation isn't as good, but I found it just as funny.

Thrawn shall forever be a mystery. Alot of the things he did might be considered unethical (no matter how effective), and choosing not to wear epaulets might be one of these little oddities. You could say the other Grand Admirals wore them because the creators thought Thrawn in TIE Fighter looked better in them, but these characters were made almost five years before TIE Fighter was released and therefore could not have been inspired to wear them. Two uniforms have been specified to include epaulets which are those of IGA Demetrius Zaarin and Warlord Zsinj, who both wore 'the complete uniform of a Grand Admiral...' (both their complete descriptions included the epaulets). http://www.cswu.cz/characters/img/char/zaarin.jpg Imposter Grand Admiral Zaarin The epaulets were also used on all the Grand Admirals in the comics (excluding Thrawn) so I assume Thrawn is the one with the 'different' uniform. P.S. I forgot to mention the ISB black pants and caps. Good call.
-
Officers are only forbidden to wear white uniforms with epaulets. These are reserved for the Grand Admirals only. ISB officers do wear white uniforms. Examples: http://www.theforce.net/swtc/Pix/zs/anh/dsofficer01.jpg http://www.theforce.net/swtc/Pix/vidi7/whiteof1.jpg http://www.theforce.net/swtc/Pix/cards/ccg/yularen.jpg Every site I have been on clearly states this fact. In reference to the other uniforms, I suggest you view the Technical Commentaries which are licensed by George Lucas and are in no way ficticious to the Star Wars Universe.
