The main things which have stopped me really getting into MMORPGs are as follows: 1) Monthly Subscriptions: I thoroughly hate the concept. I don't want to buy a game and then have to continue paying to play. Especially if I end up not liking it. 2) The time it takes to get up in levels. Too many times have i tried a free MMORPG only to get quickly bored because I was constantly asked to kill so many monsters of a certain kind. I get the fact that you can't expect to have level ups all the time and that these games aren't for the casual player but still. In the end its that. The games aren't for a casual player. Its rather hard to pick one up and play it for a bit and then give it up. They expect you to play it ALL THE FREAKING TIME! Still I hope that SW:TOR will take an approach similar to Guild Wars in which case I may pick it up and play it for a bit. Otherwise for non-MMORPGs, I repicked up BF2 today but realised that I've gotten a little rusty and just remember how long it took me to be able to survive long enough to score a frag. Though I must say Battlefield Heroes is much better for that kind of thing and actually, in the end, nearly more fun to play.
