  1. Worried, how bout terrified Of course the way the Mod I'm using is set up the Empire tends to be really slow on building Cap Ships, so it may be awhile. They do love to build ATRs, Corvettes, Gaelleons, and the little stuff. I've seen tons of smaller ships. I've destroyed a couple convoys of those vessels though eight-ten Gaelleons and Corvettes here, five or six there. I'm still worried the AI will launch a counter offensive, or even worse capture Luke, this is going to get ugly. A dozen swift X-wings strafed the dorsal surfaces of the Corvette. Flames rose from dozens of places across the hall. Atmosphere leaked from each impact and the craft began to tumble. Commander Skywalker turned to Admiral Ackbar, "Corvette 76 Destroyed Admiral." "Good, maneuver your fighters to engage that Carrack, the MC80s Hope and Excalibar will support," Ackbar answered from the command chair he heaved a sigh, "Keep the hyperspace engines on idle." The Carrack Cruiser 69 or the "Balmorra Rose" was hammered by a volley of torpedoes and a trio of Y-wings shot by its flight path. Red turbolaser blasts shot into the ship's side vaporizing bulkheads, blasting away turbolaser batteries. The Carrak fought back unleashing a storm of laser fire. Luke watched as a bolt caught an X-wing that was to slow to evade. Suddenly a bright light flashed from the Carrack's rear and the vessel exploded sending debris and flames showering across the system. An alarm began to blare aboard the bridge of the Liberty and a Mon Calamari Sensor operator yelled to Ackbar, "Three ISDs and supporting vessels on attack vector. Ackbar glanced toward Luke with one eye, "That won't be the only task force on its way, withdraw to Selonia, there we'll be able to take stock of the situation. All units proceed to hyperspace points!" Yeah, the rebels are doing hit and run, I run whenever anything approaching a large force shows up, I can't afford to loose a single capital ship.
  2. Since their initial setback the rebels have begun a campaign to take back control of the Galaxy. It's day 460 and the Sluis, Farfin, and Sesswenna sectors have fallen to the rebels with the exception of Coruscant which is currently guarded by the fleet I posted in "The largest fleet ever topic" I have a grand total of eight Maraudar Corvettes, six Medium Transports, two Quasar Fire Cruisers, three Rendili Dreadnaughts, and four Mon Calamari Cruisers. For some reason the Empire has been content to just sit there, of course right now I'm worried about that fleet over Coruscant getting an Interdictor and coming after me. Ooppss I forgot, every other sector then the three I named is under Imperial control!!!
  3. Unfortunately my Yahoo mail account has a limitation of 3 Encoded Mbs, and the load settings file itself fully compressed by WinRar is still to big to be attatched, I've got to find some way to make it smaller. Stupid YAHOO!
  4. I made the Assault Transport with the stats from XWA, and found that it's cannon fodder, twelve ATRs vs. a Victory Star Destroyer means twelve dead ATRs and ATRs are better gunned then a YT-1300. Your ships have to be over gunned...
  5. Yeah the Falcon has eight laser cannons that are from an old Dreadnught, pluse the forward facing gun under the cockpit. But the Falcon is a modified YT-1300 a normal one only has four lasers facing the dorsal mount. The second set of cannons is part of the Falcon's modifications. There goes over half the combat power of the ship
  6. Sure having monsterous fleets is fun for the player, but have you ever seen the AI do it? Well guess what, I've got a game goinging where the AI has the following over Coruscant. 12 ISDs 51 VSDs 60+ Carraks 120+ Gaelleons 40+ Dreadnuaghts 6 Nebulon B1 Frigates 12 Corellian Corvettes And if that was bad enough this was on day 460!!!! I'm going to need one big fleet!!!!!
  7. Kick myself I forgot I'd seen those before...on the force.net I think. Cool posts though. With construction costs you've got to remember the empire has a whole galaxy of resources while the federation has maybe a tenth of a galaxy at the most. Probably more like a thirtieth but hey who knows? The empire has so much resources they literally gave away two hundred Victory Star Destroyers to planetary governors. Citing the Essential Guide to Vehicles and Vessels. You have to wonder just how many ships the rebels have. There probably have to be millions of Corellian Corvettes and only the force knows how many TIEs.
  8. A section just for writers Yes, I have a home now... "Not bad eh?" "Impressive, most impressive but you are not a Jedi (Writer) yet." "Laugh it up fuzzball." Maybe we could put such a forum under outside interests or gaming stories it does say fanfic... The grenade lights flashed three times over the primary repulsorlift as the stormtrooper flattened himself against the wall. The bomb exploded and the Stormtrooper jeyed his comm, "This is TK-892 mission accomplished this city is dead." The stormtrooper ran to his fellows as the floor began to tip. The headquarters was falling from the sky.
  9. I've decided to retell what happened in story form Thousands of kilometers above the peaceful wolrd of Nich'ollin III a ship leapt into existance, its blocky grey and black surfaces gleaming in the starlight. The Bulk Cruiser Warsprite slowly began to descend into the atmosphere. As it dropped through the outer layer of clouds a pair fo X-wings screamed into escort positions. Ahead through the white clouds the distant mushroom shape fo the Rebel Headquarters was visible. Slowly the bulk cruiser drifted toward the city and slowed for a moment then slid into a giant docking collar. Inside the Warspite Princess Leia gazed out at the circling squadrons of starfighters. With a hiss the docking collar released and she stepped into the crowded hangar bay. There a tall blond man waited for her, "Princess Leia, this way please." "Leia glanced at the man's rank badge, "Commander Lorena?" The man nodded, "Yes Princess, I've been assigned as your personal assistant, welcome to the Headquarters." Within moments a team of Rebel Fleettroopers marched out to flank them, "As you can see we've deployed a large number of troops here to protect the capital, we have one orbital platform, we hope that within the next few days we'll be able to build an additional one." Leia followed the Commander to a large broad room where a rotating holographic display of the world hovered in the center. She took a moment to study the display seeing the green icons of starfighter squadrons trolling the space above the world. Suddenly a series of eight starfighter flight leapt onto the display heading for the planet. She recognized the call sign of the squadrons, Rogues and Champions, the two squadrons that had just fought at Yavin. She looked to the Commander who was watching her, "Commander Skywalker and Commander Antilles are not with them, they've been assigned to the Orus Sector." "What about our fleet? Where are they?" Leia asked glancing up at the projector. "All fleet units have been recalled, and Yavin has been evacuated, they'll be here with the hour, ah there they are now," The Commander said as a series of starships leapt out of hyperspace. Slowly they begant o form up in a ring around the world. Suddenly an alarm began to sound in the chamber, "Eradu station at the edge of the system reports multiuple contacts." A voice filled with both fear and static was heard, "Look at the size... we have multiple Imperial Starships on approach fifty-one I repeat fifty-one Victory Star Destroyers." The static increased as the thrumb of weapons fire hitting the station came through the speakers, "Twelve Imperial Star Destroyers and Eight Fondor Dreadnaughts." The Commander keyed the console, "All Alliance forces you are to engage the enemy in a delaying action while we prepare to evacuate..." Leia looked at the Commander, "What can I do?" "Head for the Warspite and try and get out of here..." The commander stopped when he saw the sour expression on Leia's face. "This is command Warspite is to join the alliance fleet." "This is Captain Revac where moving to engage, the enemy is launching fighters." Leia glanced up at the display as the two fleets collided the green and red blasts of energy crossed between the ships. Suddenly one of the Imperial Star Destroyers detonated followed by another. The Alliance force was swarmed by Ties ships began to explode as lasers found their mark. "We've suffered heavy casualties moving around, shields are down, we're trying to ahhh!" The voice cut off in a shower of static as the last alliance ship exploded from the concentrated fire of hundreds of turbolasers. Leia saw red blips begin to drop from the star destroyers. A pair fo Victory Star Destroyers had begun their descent into the atmosphere. The Commander turned to Leia, "Go get out while you can!" The headquarters building rocked as dozens of blasts hit the city. Leia ran down the halls and suddenly found herself cornered. There before her lining the hallway we're stormtroopers. Before she could do anything she saw the blue bolts reach for her and knew blackness. Yeah, something like that.
  10. If I could only figure out how to post it....Could you please explain.
  11. Yes, Proton torpedoes are really effective in space, why because they cause a massive amount of energy to be directed at a small point, a shaped charge of protons. They explode at a much slower rate then a concussion missile limiting any shockwave, thats why concussion missiles are more effective in atmosphere. So the explosive properties of proton torpedo are more destructive but burn slower while the concussion missile is the opposite. If a concussion missile impacts a target there isn't the compression wave in space, only the small explosive charge of the weapon. 23%-1/4th is that really that big of a difference? It also wouldn't matter what armor a star destroyer has, a photon torpedo disperses a blast of antimatter that destroys everything within the blast radius at an even rate. Not even the moleculary bonded armor of the Sun Crusher would stand up against that amount of firepower. The only thing close to the way in which a Photon torpedo works in Star Wars is the harmonic resonance torpedo of a Sun Crusher except the blast of energy for a photon is an explosion of antimatter and not this rolling ball that destroys everything in its path. Actually they're like a six foot long thermal detonator, quite a bang for the buck especially once you add antimatter into that thermal. In actually science though a walnut sized piece of antimatter could destroy a SSD, but this is Trekkie science we're talking about now. I know there are errors in the X-wing series of books, especially in the wraith squadron series, since when does an ISD have repulsorlifts? But my claim for concussion missiles is backed up by some things in the films, for example in Episode I (yeah I know dumb episode I) in the final ground battle you see trade federation ATTs firing concussion missiles. Jar Jar Binks is almost killed (Oh if only it had been a proton torpedo) when a cavalryman that offers him a lift is shot by a concussion missile. Also in episode 2 the roller tanks that the seperatists use are armed with a form of concussion missile. Yes it can kill walkers but against capital starships, no way. Interesting theory with the Turbolasers by the way, I hadn't heard that one before. I always thought of them as great big bolts of blaster gas that used a laser in the exciter and heated the gases to even greater amounts of heat. The reason the cube was intact afterwards was that it repaired itself....pretty fast for a cube at any rate. And the cube would have addapted somehow to the federation advancements, maybe an outer layer of antiprotons to stop the energy wave from the torpedoes, it would be my solution Actually Teleportation, Stargates/Wormholes, and antimatter have all been proven possible by mathematicians, of course you prove SW exists with mathematics if you tried. Now that you've mentioned Stargates I'll let you guys in on a little secret, I'm finishing the polishing draft on a novel called Stellar Magic: The Merlin Academy. I've used wormholes, pulse cannons, torpedoes, antimatter, solar sails, and even mythology maybe I should make a TC from it
  12. I started a game last night as the Rebels. I'd relocated my entire fleet to the Alliance capital. Leia Organa is there recruiting people (I've replaced Mon Mothma with her) anyway I'm playing and suddenly to my horror day 62 rolls around and an Imperial fleet arrives over my capital. They've got a force that would make the Emperor proud 51 Victory Star Destroyers, 12 Imperial Star Destroyers, and 8 Dreadnaughts. If you were listening you'd hear my jaw hit the floor. I instantly know what happened my Headquarters was placed on a colonized world so the Imperials would know where it was. Dumb randomizer. I'm desperate enough to launch the collective alliance fleet at the attackers. 11 Bulk Cruisers, 2 Alliance Escort Carriers, 13 Corvettes, and 8 Medium Transports. I manage to destroy two ISDs but am completely eliminated by the sheer firepower of all those star destroyers. Within moments all my ships are burning hulks. I hadn't installed two orbital platforms yet so I found that the next day they invaded. Leia was captured and the headquarters was destroyed! The alliance also doesn't have any ships available at all. The Alliance is now desperately trying to build up the ships it needs to defend itself from destruction. Unfortunately it takes the allies over a hundred days to build enough ships just for patrol duty. In that time the Empire has succeeded in completely demolishing six alliance worlds. Whats funny about this? It's all because of my mod that I'm being summararily pulverized. Maybe my mod has turned frankenstein on me.
  13. Okay both universes are fantasies and therefore not always the most logical of things. Of course both sides are guilty of this and its kind of ironic when both sides have a technology thats named the same but completely different. In Star Trek Disruptors are a weapon in which a large amount of sound is projected into a gas and fired. In Star Wars a disruptor fires a bolt of high intensity gas that rips apart organic material because of its intense heat. Some weapons on both sides completely don't add up even comparaded with other weapons, Laser Cannons take time to hit a target and fire a blast or bolt but a superlaser delivers a constant stream. In Star Trek if you know anything there are tons of bad jokes, their EPS system or Electrical Power System, is Trekkie speak for the plug in the wall for everything in your house. Klingons are based on Samurai, Ferengi on American Tradesmen in the 18th Century, Romulans from Rome (DUH), Bajorans from Arabs, and on and on and on.... Star Wars is Lucas's child and it shows that his understanding of technology and science is limited. The laser cannons are visible and take time to reach their targets, Blasters are the only thing close to a real name for the weapons of Star Wars, and having all the ships use ion engines, grrr.... Another example is the battle in Episode II Geonosian fighters fire a form of blaster and it magically explodes close to a target. What is it there is no projectile except for gas so there is nothing to explode. Turbolasers do the same thing, I think Lucas watched to many old WWII films with Flak and AAA before he wrote the things. I've based my assessment of the capabilities of Star Wars weaponary on the X-wing novels. Yes a proton torpedo barrage can take down one of the 6 vectors of shield systems but on several occasions the Rogues use Proton torpedoes to take out individual buildings, if they were nearly as powerful as you suggest there would be no city instead there is no building. Concussion Missiles are also very underpowered, for much any damage to be done in space they must detonate within a very small radius of the target. In atmosphere the concussion missiles explosives make it able to take out buidlings because of the compression wave unleashed by their detonation. But even then they aren't very effective. Corran horn nailed power conduit under a statue and all he got was a broken statue with a pair of shots from them. The abilities of Star Trek weaponary is also based on some things I've seen. I remember an epside (Don't remember the name) where the enterprise was confronted by a borg cube (3Km x 3Km x 3Km) it was rather far into the series and Picard says something about the upgrades the ships goen through. The enterprise fires three torpedoes and about a fourth of the cube is just plain GONE . Of course being a cube it would come back and beat up on the enterprise but a fourth of a cube from three torps is about half an Imperial Star Destroyer with three torpedoes. A full spread would complete destroy an Imperial Star Destroyer without shields. With shields the Imperial Star Destroyer would be able to pulverize the Galaxy before then but it shows just how much damage those torpedoes can do. At least the writers in Star Trek try and make a logical explanantion, does it always work, no, but at least they try.
  14. Maybe an alliance escort carrier has no problem with rear defense but an imperial does. Play X-wing alliance and get directly behind the engines. There is no enemy fire except from the lonely concussion missile battery directly above and behind the engines. Also a light turbolaser battery isn't able to down a manuevering A-wing all the time. A-wings, X-wings, Y-wings, and B-wings, all can dodge light turbolaser fire and their relatively large when you compare them to a missile. Laser cannons can destroy such small craft but not turbolasers. Thats the entire reason that the empire has the lancer frigate. While I will admit that a star destroyer will make short work out of a galaxy, in fact I think you may have dramatically undergunned the ISD. The essential guide to vehicles and vessesl says Sixty turbolaser BATTERIES wiith an additional sixty heavy turbolaser BATTERIES, and sixty ion cannon (batteries I'd think). Now in military lingo a batteries is between six to eight guns so at the low end an ISD has. Turbolasers: 360 Heavy Turbolasers: 360 Ion Cannons: 360 The technical term for a laser that is designed to destroy missiles is called a Point defense Phaser. If you want to see a nebula class destroy incoming torpedoes just watch the intro to Star Trek Armada. (In the game only Nebula class ships can do this but its quite logical that other ships could be outfitted to do it and the Nebula is really a scaled back Galaxy.) Yes it's possible for a flight of Tie Bombers to deliver an overwhelming volley of torpedoes, but it takes around three seconds for a bomber to get a lock on even the largest of target -Play the X-wing series- and check it out. You've dramatically underestimatted the strength of Federation vessels. A Galaxy class ship can actually deliver a vollley of twenty four torpedoes in about one second. There are six tubes on a galxy each can be loaded with up to four torpedoes and emptied within that one second period. The blast of a trekkie torpedo is measured in isotons. An isoton is exponentially larger in yield then a Mega Ton. I assume MT stands for mega ton. Remember star trek torpedoes rely on antimatter which is known to be the most explosive and dangerous substance in the universe. Oh and the names photon and quantum don't define their explosive ingrediants its the type of onboard computer they use. Star Wars projectiles on the other hand are much different. For example a concussion missile contains basically the same compouinds as real life modern missiles do. It is almost completely reliant in atmosphere on the shock wave created by its detonation the concussion if you will. Proton torpedoes rely on the release of protons into their target. This causes a miniature nuclear explosion and by miniature I do mean miniature. If you place a one Kiloton nuclear bomb in an ISDs hangar bay...well no more hanger bay and perhaps no more star destroyer. A Star Destroyer pursues a Galaxy and destroys it quite easily. A Dreadnaught iffy. A lancer frigate...dead frigate. A carrak cruiser, comes down to commanders but Star Trek tends to have better tacticians. An escort carrier, with the fighters neutralized, a cake walk. A corellian corvette may actually cause some trouble for a Galaxy because of its manueverability. But a Galaxy could still kill a fully loaded Imperial escort carrier of that I am sure. The truth speaks for itself- all out war Star Wars dominates. Oh and I'm not a hard core trekkie so I say Trekkie games are admissable!!
  15. A Galaxy class a.ka. Enterpise (Next Generation Series) has 16 Phaser banks which can be individually targeted. Lets see 1/2 second burst for each TIE/In so 72/16*.5=between 2-3 seconds to kill all the TIEs!!! Then the Galaxy which is faster and more manueverable sneaks into the blind arc directly behind the carrier and sits there firing for a while, end of story. Also Phasers can be used to blast any missiles launched at the Galaxy. Thats what the real project codenamed (Ironic ) Star Wars was all about, using lasers to destroy missiles. Come on!
  16. Okay first off I'm doing this just for the sake of argument Star Wars Ships are slower (At Sublight Speeds), less manueverable, and less effective against smaller ships. Star Trek Ships are death to smaller vessels because there is almost no way for a phaser shot to miss a starfighter But they can't deliver enough force to beat a heavier ship. So.... ISD vs Enterprise: ISD Wins. Escort Carrier + full force of TIEs vs Enterprise: Enterprise wins. The Phasers destroy the ties within just a few minutes and a volley photon torpedoes beats up on the escort carrier. Oh well. What can I say, there is a reason there are no starfighters in Star Trek!
  17. I just finished my own version of Brdige Commander's Victory Star Destroyer, it didn't take long so I put it up against a Galaxy Class from Star Trek and here's the results. The VSD opens up with a full barrage from its forward batteries and pummels the shields of the Galaxy. Their forward shields go down bu the ship slips behind the VSD and starts loosing volleys of torpedoes and sure enough the VSD's lack of manueverablility begins to show. The Galaxy's Phasers begin to do damage to the rear shields. The VSD replies by firing its rear batteries and all eight of the Concussion Missile Batteries. The Missiles streak through the shields and uttery demolish the saucer section of the ship and disable the impulse drive. The Galaxy class is dead in the water. Mission Accomplished. Next I tried it against that darn ship the Defiant. The Defiant screams in and hammers the rear shields of the VSD. It dumps a pair of antimatter mines onto the VSD. No more VSD . I found that three Bird of Prey can take on a VSD and a VSD can destroy the Sovereign (The newest version of the Enterprise). If I added fighters maybe it would keep a Defiant or Bird of Prey busy enough for me to destroy it. Still Star Wars verses Star Trek is fun. In average one on one ship to ship combat it will be Star Wars because of just how much more firepower they have.
  18. We've all recognized the fundamental defects of Star Wars Rebellion, The AI is to easy, units are inaccurately depicted, and starfighters seem rather pointless in game. I've been working to try and correct these difficulties with a single TC... I'd like some suggestions if you'd like to offer them. Thus far I've: Updated all shiptypes to make them as strong as depicted in other star wars games such as X-wing Alliance. I've made it so that instead of building starfighter squadrons you build flights of 4 Ships. (Originally I had it so you could build fighters individually but it really gave the rebels an enormous advantage) I've gotten rid of Mon Mothma who was really nothing more then a figure head and replaced her with Leia (I haven't done the voice but I will). I've made Mara Jade and placed her in Leia's slot so that you can't train her till after the final battle. Troops are no longer regiment sized units but are instead company sized units. Special Forces have been overhauled. Bounty hunters are available and will work for either side. Probe droids can be build by both the rebels and imperials along with espionage droids. They can also be captured during a planetary assault and reprogrammed. The rebels have a larger variety of Spec forces then the Imperials including, Guerillas, Eclipse Teams, and Infiltraitors. I've created a new galactic map which includes the deep core. Thats the major things I've done. Any suggestions, I'm looking for some good pictures of stormtroopers, and rebel ground forces as well
  19. Sure they've got a Star Wars mod...I tried it and suffice to say, its screwed up. (The Star Destroyers fire phasers and the like!) I'm working on my own version though... Also all the scales for the ships are screwed up, all the vessels are two big! Yeah their Tie Fighter is about 100 meters long and their star destroyer is just too big. I'm going to agree with you guys that star trek ships are junk comparaded to Star Wars ships. Just think about how slow Voyager is. It'll take them 70 years to cross the galaxy, and it would take Leia and Han less then 70 days.
  20. It seems my estimates were conservative: They just hit Bakura with over seventy vessels. I lost a complete Alliance Task force charged with defending the shipyards there! The number of enemies seems to be increasing by about fifty percent every two hundred years or so. Where the hell are their shipyards I must destroy them! I managed to double the size of my force but I'm still be slowly ground down to nothing. It seems the AI is satisfied if they just hit my ships. I'm isolated in three sectors and they haven't launched any planetary assaults. Good thing computers don't do chat or it be taunting me mercilessly. Okay, thats it! On to Coruscant! Damn the Emperor!
  21. I'm just going to put this out there, its my estimate on the number of enemy ships they (The Imperials) have deployed thus far. The Imperial Fleet: Gaelleons: 50 + I've seen lots of them early on but the empire seems to have switched production to Star Gaelleons. Corellian Corvettes: 40 + Again lots of these vessels have been built and continue to be built. I build lots of them to. Carrack Cruisers: 50 + Almost as common as the bloody corvette and it carries a flight of starfighters now, damn them. Fondor Dreadnaught: 40 + The common run of the mill dreadnught of the empire. It doesn't carry any fighters. Rendili Dreadnaught: 1 Confirmed A model of dreadnaught with a group of fighters onboard. Bulk Cruiser: 1 Confirmed (I don't know why the empire built it.) Strike Cruiser: 10 + The empire just started production, I expect to see a lot more of these. Victory Star Destroyer: 40 + They had 27 of them at game start and its only gotten worse. Imperial Star Destroyer: 25 +/- 5 The Empire hasn't built many which seems odd. Super Star Destroyer: I think they've built one but I've never seen it. Interdictor Cruiser: 11+ They've been everywhere since developed and have cost me countless vessels. Death Stars: After the destruction of Death Star Suppressor they certainly would have started work on a second one. Star Gaelleons: 65+ They're everywhere! Assault Transports: 100+ A squadron of fighters can destroy one so they aren't a real big threat. Rebel Forces: My Stuff Maraudar Corvettes: 7 Mon Calamari Cruisers: 9 Victory 2 Star Destroyers: 4 Quasar Fire Cruisers: 2 Escort Carriers: 2 Imperial 2 Star Destroyers: 2 Corvettes: 12 Assault Frigates: 4 Mc40s: 12 As you can see I'm badly outnumbered!
  22. Okay things were bad, and they got a little worse. A fleet I'd been building up over Kamparas, 8 Fondor Dreadnaughts, 6 Maraudar Frigates, and 12 Ground based starfighters was completely destroyed. Over Umgul a force of thirty Imperial ships dropped in system destroyed the defense fleet uterly and occupied the world. I lost all those ship yards. The Empire continued by launching a massive strike on Daltar where I'd built a large Shipbuilding facility. The Defending fleet of nine MC80s and supporting vessels drove them off. Now Thrawn decided to unleash his noghri and Bounty Hunters. In the last 100 days over ten characters have been killed, abducted, or injured! My Ship Research ability has been incapacitated and the Imperials are racing ahead. Thrawn turns his attention to my most important characters...Mara Jade (In Leia's slot), Luke Skywalker, and Han Solo. Mara and Han are captured and taken to Rurria! I send Luke Skywalker to rescue them along with a team of special forces. I should have known better, for Thrawn had set a trap. Luke Skywalker is captured and delivered to the Empire. Noooooooooooooooooooo!!!!
  23. Well I said they started building one at the start, I'm now on day two thousand or so and it just now rolled off the production line. It's first engagement was its downfall though The thing is I set it up so that each ship's construction cost is a tenth of its hull rating (1/20th if Imperial), which means that a Mon Calamari Cruiser will still take around eighty days if you've got ten shipyards. At day 2000 I've just managed to build up a force and am hanging on by my fingernails to two sectors. The AI has been launching assaults mercilessly, Uvena, Bortras fell withing the first 100 days along with all their defenders. I tried to flee but the imperials had 30 ships against three bulk cruisers and managed to destroy all the defenders before they jumped! Yavin fell at day 15 or so and those imperials have taken the worlds of Rallitar and Kuat already. I think I'm facing the devious Thrawn right now The total complement of the rebellion fleet was only around sixty vessels this to try and keep control of several worlds. Umgul is the lone rebel foothold in the Sluis sector and one of two major systems with shipyards. I know the computer is going to strike that system sooner or later. Probably with enough force to make me cry Remember Umgul! I can't stand the thought of loosing that system. I wonder if Death Stars have some hatred of the MC80 Liberty (The first rebel starship destroyed at Endor by the Death Star). That Death Star showed up over a tiny system in the Orus sector and I had Task Force Liberty just sitting there. So the Death Star's first shot blasts the Liberty. Fortunately the ample rebel starfighters destroyed the Death Star I'm still hanging on with my fingernails but I'm afraid the AI has figured out my mod better then me. Maybe I'll be able to tip the scales back in my favor but the situation remains very grim for the rebellion. If I do loose it would be a stunning blow to my ego. I haven't lost to the Computer in the last five years! Thrawn must be behind this!
  24. The Death Star I'm using in that game costs a whopping 5840 Construction points and 600 maintenence points. I have no idea why the AI thinks it can afford to build a Death Star so early, but the thing costs enough it'll be a while before that battle station is operational. No worries I'll see what I can do with feedback and start working on something a little more on the difficult side.
  25. Hmmm...Difficult,yes Master I can accomplish that The Early Rebellion, The Player can only build Y-wings and maybe Z-95s (Removal of the B-wing Perhaps) B-wing, cannon fodder for ties just like the the Y-wing. The Modification I've been using (Mine all Mine!) makes it so the enemy starts out with about a ten to one advantage in resources (on hard) the computer even starts building the Death Star on the first day (if you're playing as the Rebels). Lets see, if the game had been any way accurate fromt he begining we wouldn't need to make up our own difficult scenarios. I can build you these scenarios. I think the first thing I'd do would be to build one based on some guess work about the size of the Imperial fleet after Yavin (Multiply everything times ten and it would be closer to the actually size, but we can't fit that many ships and keep it fun can we) Imperials: SSDs: 2 (Executor and Lusankya) ISDs: 72-90 VSDs: 112-140 Dreads: 240-270 Carracks: 360-480 Escort Carriers: 36 Galleons: Lots Corvettes: Lots TIEs: To many to count Rebels: Bulk Cruisers: 36 Quasar Fire Carriers: 9 Dreadnaughts: 27 Corvettes: 72 Medium Transports: 144 Bulk Transport: 60 X-wing Squadrons: 24 Y-wing Squadrons: 48 Its sounds impossible but the Rebels pulled it off. Could I, I'm not sure but they did, How about a scenario called, The Real Rebellion (Smells like an Imperial victory doesn't it.) I'll see what I can do for you guys...
