OOC: No fair, unfortunately Raporan technology has a little quirk that you're about to discover. IC: The Timeless One's head snapped to the communications officer as the report came in, "We are being engaged by Raporan Fighters launched by a Star Destroyer." The Timeless One stood his hands clenched at his side, "They must have discovered one of the abandoned facilities." He smiled, "The fools just reinforced us." He closed his eyes and reached otu through the force. * * * Captain Johnathan Wessel hissed between his teeth as he manuevered the Rapora fighter past two of its brothers. He rolled back onto his target and switched to plasma bombs, then he felt his stick stiffen in his hands, "What the?" "Lead, I've lost control, my craft is changing course!" "This is six, me to!" "We've all lost control!" Johnathan felt his fists tighten around the controls as he tried to break the lockout, "Reborn This is Echo Lead, we've been locked out of flight control, the fighters are acting independently." * * * The flight controller stood on the bridge of the Reborn and glanced to Garik Ioor, "Sir, all our fighters just were locked out of their flight controls!" Garik spun, his jaw ajar, "What?" "All Raporan fighters are no longer responding to their pilots!" the flight controller pronounced. Garik felt his fist tighten on the command board, "How is that possible?" * * * Johnathan Wessel felt his blood begin to rush toward his head as the inertial compensator shut down. He saw through the transparisteel viewport his fighter break toward a Ravager class star destroyer. Suddenly his weapons board lit up and Johnathan gave one desperate plea, "By the force no!" * * * "Sir, the Ravager Class Star Destroyer Invaliable Will is reporting multiple target warning locks from our fighters." Garik Ioor stared at his hands for a moment, their experiment had failed and would now make him sacrifice many a experienced pilot, "Tell the Will that she is free..." He spoke to late, outside the viewports the Ravager class Destroyer detonated from the volley of plasma bombs. * * * The Timeless One smiled, the GFFA had no idea what he knew of Raporan technology, how every nanite to cruiser was imprinted upon his will through the organic components of its construction, it could not be turned, nor could it be used by the enemy. It was, and always would be, his.

Internet has been on the Fritz... and I've been fighting the flu. In addition to that there's only two weeks left in the semester so I'm really, really, really busy.
-
So whats the system requirements... I had to upgrade my PC just to run COD. The Iron sight's problem is easily fixed, I've done it myself, and I know that the damage thing is something fo a problem, but if you think about it, a Panzerfaust could take out a JS II with a single shot in the front there is little need for an accurate mapping of damage (With the exception of the Russian Tank level). In the game the only time you can play as a tank you're playing as the tank commander, supposedly. In reality most tanks have a four man crew (With the exception of the Russian vehicles) and in WWII in most cases it was a five man crew. Driver Asst. Driver Gunner Loader Commander We're getting closer to realism, but who in the world would want to play as the loader?
-
Problem, I can't run SW Battlefront. Well, unfortunately I'm a realism freak and considering the type of energy weapon used in star wars (Ionized and superheated gas shot from a barrel) damage fall off for the weapons would be insanely pronounced. I'd guesstimate that a blaster bolt would loose all its destructive power after about fifty yards. The gas from a hand held weapon like that would diffuse rapidly in the atmosphere and the energy charge would dissipate just as well. Actually COD has an enormous Multiplayer community, some of the multiplayer mods are the most complex I've seen that aren't TCs. They've programmed in such things as blood loss, dizzines, triping, deployable machine guns, 'cookable' grenades, and the most annoying mod I've ran into yet, the shot in the hand feature (You get hit in the hand or lower arm, and guess what, you drop your gun and have to scramble to retrieve it.) The Tunnel Vision would be relatively simple, add a script with a simple perscreption for rebel or imp and make it so the imps always have a helmet on, or base it on the model so the effect varries from stormies, to scouts, to gunners, and ceases to exist with fleetroopers. One thing we'd have to figure out would be what a blaster bolt sounds like if it passes close by. Heck you could even script in ranks, and squad systems, the possiblities with the way COD is designed are quite variable. Heck you could even add experience modifiers to the accuracy of weapons.

Battlefront doesn't have a lot of stuff actually. 1. You can't drop prone in battlefront or lean around corners. 2. You can't really aim down the sight like in Call of Duty, you're still firing from the 'hip'. 3. The AI is considerably stupider in battlefront, it doesn't use grenades or cover. 4. You can't program in damage fall off with distance, I've seen this done with COD. 5. You can't add in some fo the really cool effects that COD is capable of. For stormtroopers you can make it so you have all the cool gadgets that come with the gear, advanced audio pickup, heat sensors, and others. You can also give the player the 'tunnel' vision that being inside such a helmet would give you. 6. Alternate modes of fire really aren't that great with battlefront, with COD you could set it up so a blastech had a really wide variety of options, stun, semi, quarter auto, half auto, full auto, with all the advantages and problems inherit with each of them, not to mention melee. And there are other reasons...

I'm kind of busy with modding for SWR but I've also got the game Call of Duty, and I've been on their mod site, which has some rather impressive stuff, but one thing struck me. There isn't a Star Wars mod! I think there should be, I've gotten sick of the lack of realism in Star Wars games recently, and I think this would be a great place to get a more realistic squad combat Star Wars game experience. I've seen some fo the awesome stuff you can do with scripting in the game and played around with it myself but I think you could do some awesome stuff with Star Wars and Call of Duty. Imagine... Crouching beside a duracrete wall with a blastech E-11 in your hands leading a squad of imperial stormtroopers. You tap your helmet and key the thermal imaging unit and can see a rebel squad moving across the open ahead. You key on your optical sensors as you signal the squad to spread out and find cover. You can see them now, a squad of twelve rebels in their camoflauged gear. You lift the Blastech to your shoulder and aim down the sight as the rest of the squad ready's their weapons, then you open fire at maximum range. The Rebels dive for cover as the blaster bolts flash toward them, two are caught standing and are dropped to the ground their chest smoking from a dozen bolts. At maximum range the weapon's destructive power is weakened and the rebels begin to retun frie with Blastech A280s and other arms, one even fires a slugthrower. The power meter on your blaster cuts out and you look down to realize you've emptied your power pack. Quickly you eject the pack as a bolt shots by stunningly close. You snap in another pack and frown slightly beneath your helmet, four more packs left, four hundred shots. You rise back up and open fire again as a hiss fills the air. You turn to see the ground seeming explode around one of your stormtroopers as a flechette blast hits right before him. You turn to see a rebel standing with a pistol leveled at a comrade. He fires and a hundred superheated bits of metal from the flechette pistol throw the stormtrooper back, smoke wafting from his armor. You trigger a blast that catched the standing rebel and throws him to the ground. A blast comes in from nowhere and catches your shoulder throwing you to the ground. You try to stand as a rebel soldier scrambles over the trench. You raise your blaster and fire, killing the rebel as you hear your heart beating in your ears. Your stormtrooper visor displays your heart beat rising, and your vision starts to red out. You turn and see a rebel soldier standing, his Blastech A280 raised at you. The tunnel vision of the helmet keeps you from seeing his two comrades as you raise your blaster. Then there is the brilliant roar of blaster fire, then darkness.

Yeah, I'd have to agree with the scale thing, but even then I think you're over estimating the size of Kamino's army too. But with the scale of the star wars universe lets put something in perspective, in The Unifying Force (Yes it's EU, I know!!!) they quote a total casualty number for the whole war as being 365 Trillion... Now, guess what I'm going to say. Thats the number of casualties on Coruscant alone, right? The sheer size of the Galaxy makes the scale of the clone wars incalcuable, it would be impossible for the Empire/Republic fight the clone wars without using recruits, why because of the sheer magnitude of the threat, we're talking a droid army numbering in the trillions, perhaps hundreds of trillions, verses a clone army that if just from Kamino would number a measly say three hundred thousand to at most three to four million, (I give such a large range to satisfy those hey, it's a whole planet making clones people). Correlation of Forces: 100,000,000,000,000 vs 4,000,000 Um, anyone say surrender? Okay lets expand the number of systems with cloning facilities to lets say a hundred systems. Correlation of Forces: 100,000,000,000,000 vs 500,000,000 How about a thousand systems? Correlation of Forces: 100,000,000,000,000 vs 5,000,000,000 Okay, now lets run a quick little scenario. Republic Best case scenario, clones only, first eighteen months of the clone wars. Clone growth time, I'll be really liberal with this and say six months. Starting systems with cloning facilities equals 10,000 each with one hundred thousand cloning cylinders. Starting size of the clone army will be 1 Billion clones. Starting size of the Droid army will be 500 Million droids. 1/10th of the total force will be engaged in combat operations in a month. Kill loss rate will be 15 droids to 1 clone or about as much as shone in AOTC or maybe even a little better then shown there. So Month 1: CIS: Starting Droids: 500,000,000 Casualties: 100,000,000 Ending Droids: 900,000,000 Republic: Starting Clones:1,000,000,000 Casualties: 3,000,000 Ending Clones: 997,000,000 Month 2: CIS: Starting Droids: 900,000,000 Casualties: 99,700,000 Ending Droids: 1,703,000,000 Republic: Starting Clones:997,000,000 Casualties: 7,000,000 Ending Clones: 990,000,000 Month 3: CIS: Starting Droids: 1,703,000,000 Casualties: 99,000,000 Ending Droids: 3,307,000,000 Republic: Starting Clones:990,000,000 Casualties: 11,000,000 Ending Clones: 979,000,000 Month 4: CIS: Starting Droids: 3,307,000,000 Casualties: 97,900,000 Ending Droids: 5,976,100,000 Republic: Starting Clones:979,000,000 Casualties: 22,000,000 Ending Clones: 957,000,000 Month 5: CIS: Starting Droids: 5,976,100,000 Casualties: 95,700,000 Ending Droids: 11,856,500,000 Republic: Starting Clones:957,000,000 Casualties: 40,000,000 Ending Clones: 917,000,000 Month 6: First new clonetroopers arrive. CIS: Starting Droids: 11,856,500,000 Casualties: 91,700,000 Ending Droids: 23,621,300,000 Republic: Starting Clones:917,000,000 Casualties: 79,000,000 Ending Clones: 1,838,000,000 Month 7: The Republic Starts to be overwhelmed. CIS: Starting Droids: 23,621,300,000 Casualties: 183,800,000 Ending Droids: 47,058,800,000 Republic: Starting Clones:1,838,000,000 Casualties: 157,400,000 Ending Clones: 1,680,600,000 Month 8: CIS: Starting Droids: 47,058,800,000 Casualties: 168,000,000 Ending Droids: 93,949,600,000 Republic: Starting Clones:1,680,600,000 Casualties: 313,700,000 Ending Clones: 1,366,300,000 Month 9: CIS: Starting Droids: 93,949,600,000 Casualties: 137,000,000 Ending Droids: 187,762,200,000 Republic: Starting Clones:1,366,300,000 Casualties: 626,300,000 Ending Clones: 740,000,000 Month 10: The Clone army ceases to exists. CIS: Starting Droids: 187,762,200,000 Casualties: 74,000,000 Ending Droids: 187,688,200,000 Republic: Starting Clones: 740,000,000 Casualties: 740,000,000 Ending Clones: 0 Total Military Casualties Droids: 1.1468 Billion Clones: 2 Billion Why are the droid casualties lower then the clone casualties? The droid army gained a massive numerical advantage enabling them to kill clones faster then the clones could kill them. If 1/10th of their army was engaged in offensive operations and 1/10th of the clone Army was arrayed to defend against it that one tenth would be squashed. It still takes 15 droids to kill a clone but if you outnumber them 150 to 1 you murder those clones. So once again I've got to say that the Republic must have used conscripts for its very survival.

I can hear it now, echoing through the halls of the Replicator Malliable World, the laughter. The Timeless One: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
-
Um, I'd hate to say this, but Imperial I could take on that vessel. So, I'm going to do some upgrades for you. Strikeblade-class Cruiser Length - 1.2 Km Crew - 7,000 Troop Complement: 2 combat regiments or 2,000 soldiers Fighter capacity- 6 Squadrons Weapons: 32 Superheavy Turbolaser banks 100 Heavy Turbolasers 140 Turbolasers 50 Heavy Ion Cannons 110 Ion Cannons 72 Quad laser emplacements 24 Concussion Missile Launchers 18 Proton Tropedo Launchers Shields: Doublehulled shield system with each individual array (Dorsal Primary, Dorsal Secondary, etc...) being equal to half the total shield output of a Imperial II. Speed: 58 MGLTs The Vessel also features an active camoflauge screen capable of defeating most sensors except gravitic and ion accelerated pulse A.K.A. red laser/particle sensors. The only known deterent to both forms of sensors stated here is a phased cloak. Does that seem much more powerful For comparison here are the stats for an Imperial II Star Destroyer 120 Heavy Turbolasers (In Essential Guide to Vehicles it says 60 hvy batteries + 60 hvy turbolasers, so this number may be conservative) 60 Ion Cannons

OOC: I'm feeling a little better, BS you're going to hate me for it but I'm going to draw the Mandalorians kicking and screaming into the conflict. I'm also going to remove the Eclipse class cruiser from the table... Thrawn just got outguessed. The Timeless One watched the battle on through the viewports as a holographic rendition of the Aklasp commander shimmered into existance, "Timeless One, we await your command." "There is a ship observing the battle at these coordinates, utilize your force sensitivity to find it and destroy it, we cannont have it idly watching our engagement." "Yes my lord, what of the superheavies?" "I will deal with them," The Timeless One answered smiling coldly as the hologram disappeared. Glancing at the crew he smiled, "Full axial rotation bring us to face away from the planet, even out shields." The rapora looked at each other perplexed as the enormous craft swung around and the gibbous cresent of Ord Mantell's moon rose into sight. * * * The two superheavy star destroyers orbited at stunning distance to the moon, the prow of the eclipse and sovereign class ships clearing the surface of the moon by just a few hundred meters and the ships continued to pick up speed. Admiral Oreton nodded at the detailed battle plan Thrawn had sent him, the plan had been astonishingly simple. Remove the Raporan Replicators one by one or two by two through ambushing them and trapping them between either a gravity well or a GFFA Task Force. In the case of the Ord Mantell gravity well the Eclipse and Sovereing would use gravity assist to shoot at astounding speed into range of the Raporan forces and destroy them. Still Oreton knew that the effective range of a superlaser was great enough that he could target the Replicators as soon as he was clear of the moon and both the Imperius and the GFFA ship beside him had their weapons fully charged and ready. * * * The Timeless One smiled as he nodded to the communications officer, "Inform the Revival that she amy fire when ready." * * * Deep int he communications center on Ord Mantell Thrawn felt his gut clench as he watched the two remaining replicators settle into position facing away from the planet. He glanced at the holographic image of Athien that looked perplexed, "Do you think he's guessed our strategy?" The sensor operator spu toward her console, "Replicator two is powering weapons, energy spike, energy spike! She's firing!" Thrawn felt his eyes widen, "By the force." * * * The brilliant plasma blast ripped throught he moon ripping apart the vast celestial object into its componet pieces. Molten boulders flashed as they hit the shield of the Imperius, "Damage report!" "Port shields at fifty percent, ventral shields at ten percent." "Sir, second replicator is preparing to fire!" "Weapons, fire the superlaser, one quarter power!" The brilliant green flash shot through space and impacted the replicator that had fired first ripping through it's hull and setting it into a gentle spinning motion. Then the second replicator fired, a brilliant beam of golden plasma that sliced through space and hit the Eclipse class Cruiser. The shields of the vessel held for a moment then crumbled as the beam continued to eat into it. The ship's prow began to melt and a chain of explosions along the vessel's weapons trenches revealed a mortal wound as the golden beam cut off. Oreton spun as the communications officer yeeled, "They report they're abandoning ship, their whole hull has taken a beating. The ship is starting to break up." "Weapons, hit that replicator before it fires again!" Another brilliant green blast shot from the Imperius's bow and hit the replicator's plasma emitters dead centers, but the ship's shields managed to deflect most of the blow before the hull. Still the replicators primary weapon system was offline. * * * The Mandalorian cruiser hung there watching when suddenly two evilly dark vessels dropped out fo hyperspace above and behind it. The ships broke in formation toward the darkened ship then a red laser arched from the ship's bow and swept the vessel. On the Mandalorian Cruiser's bridge the tactical officer spun to the fleetmaster, "Sir, we're being scanned, its some sort of red laser optical / particle scanner, very old style technology." "Have we been detected?" The officer actually swallowed involuntarily, "Yes sir, the sensors weren't designed to counter such a scan, in fact because of nature, I've never heard of an effective counter. It's really like firing a volley of underpowered turbolasers to find something, they've certainlly..." The deck rocked and the lights on the bridge flickered as a brilliant blue white bolt slammed into the front of the vessel. With a flash the shields of the cruiser buckled. Alarms began to whine in the command deck, "Evasive action, status report, engineering, disengage sensor jamming we've been spotted, reroute all power to shields." "Primary and secondary shields are comning to full power dorsal outer shield is at fifty percent. Fleetmaster, the concussion has forced us to reroute power for dorsal battery group four," The woman which served as the ship's engineer answered. She gripped the console as another bolt slammed into the dorsal outser shield, "Outer Dorsal shield is down secondary shield at ninety five percent!" "Full axial rotation, all hands fire at will weapons target those ships. Tactical analysis." A brilliant volley of red turbolaser blasts shot at the two attacking ships. As the shots hit some which were hitting at a shallow angle were deflected harmlessly into space. Most detonated on the shield and a brilliant green aurora of plasma formed around the target vessel. Then a pair of ship length bolts from super heavy turbolasers shot toward the the target. The bolts hit squarely but instead of detonating they were absorbed into the shield which recoiled inward and bounced back. As it bounced back a bright green bolt only slightly less powerful then the superturbolaser blast that had been fired flashed back into the mandalorian vessel. The bridge rocked, "Tactical, what is this thing!" "I don't know Fleetmaster, its not on any of the databases, unknown configuration, weapons, the works." The Fleetmaster stroked his gray hair in frustration, "Helm get us out fo here!"

With the exception of the Yevetha Crisis because those are full of errors... I still say that the empire wasd built on the backs of trillions of conscripted human beings.

I'm fighting the flu so yeah...

Actually I did double it in the upper estimate. (I based that number on a russian regiment, which is twice the size of other conventional army's.) Still if it took the Kaminan's ten years to start production of the clone army, it would have taken a large amount of time to get other facilities geared to do the same. For the sake of security production at those facilities could not have started until after the battle of Geonosis. Considering it appears that growth enhancements can only go so far in the films it would take perhaps as long as two to three years for those facilities to produce combat ready troops. What does this mean? It means that the Republic would only have perhaps as many as four to five divisions worth of troops (40,000 - 100,000) to defend thousands of star systems against a droid army that could double in size within two weeks and number in the trillions after the first year of the war. While additional clones would continue to come online, they would not be able to even come close to keep pace with the droid army. After the first year of the war I'd estimate that without recruitment the number of droids to clonetroopers would be on the order of 1 verses 100,000. It's quite easy to see that the Republic would have been on the defensive trying to use the clone army as a fire brigade against the enormous onslaught of the CIS. The only sane option for the Republic would be to draft and train troops to supplament the clones. SOCL: Does it matter if a stupid man has a machine gun and a smart guy has a bb gun, who is going to win? There is no way that a clonetrooper could be as effective as having 100,000 war droids. The clonetroopers would be completely overwhelmed just as the Jedi in the Geonosian Arena were. I'd estimate casualty exchange rates on an equal playing field would favor the clonetrooper probably around 50 to 1, still against the shere size of the droid army that isn't enough. As the russians often proved quantity has a quality all its own.
-
And only I know where the Raporan homeworld is You'll hate it once I reveal the location...
-
Problem: Won't the Jedi flip out if you do that.
-
You think you could blow up the Raporan homeworld with a Galaxy Gun Missile... HAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHA -CHOKE- -SPUTTER- -COUGH-. You'll have to find it first.
-
Good assesment Eville. Now, B5... I really don't know. I think the B5 series did the best job at portraying the way space combat would work. (You can clearly see newtonian physics at work, especially with the starfurys.) Unfortunately the only thing I think that could even be a challenge for a SW vessel would be a mimbari ship, perhaps someone should dig up some stats on the Whitestars. It would be interesting to see what they come up with.
-
Okay first off, Jahled has stated some stuff implicitly depicted in the movie, but in my view he forgot just one little thing, clone production began 10 years before the film... Lets see, the Kaminan leader prime minister says that the first "battalions" were becoming operational. A battalion in the military is on the order of three to four regiments I believe. Meaning a force around 3,000-8,000 actual clone troops in each battalion. Considering the force shown at Geonosis, I'd say that the number of clonetroops at the battle was on the order of 8-16,000 or around two to four battalions or around one to two brigades. The clonetroopers also demonstrate much better abilities then the stormtroopers from episodes IV-VI. In the Arena you see at most a platoon of forty clonetroopers hold off hundreds of Super battledroids, Droidekas, and Battledroids. If you look at the sheer size of the droid army in the film, it seems clear to me that the droids had a numerical advantage of at least two to one. Some in depth of analysis of the film states that the droid armies of the CIS has the capacity to double in size in a matter of days, the cloning facility on Kamino simply wouldn't be able to keep up even if the clones could take on four or five times the number of droids thrown against them. The Republic would be forced to rapidly expand its military beyond the limits of the Kaminan production capacity, hence recruits and conscripts. The Jedi would have given the Republic time to pull itself together but they would be worn down relatively quickly from sheer atrition. In all the films I think there is only one formation that I believe has at least a portion of its roster as clones, that being the force of troops used in the capture of the Tantive IV, they're much better shots and drilled in the film then any other unit, leading me to believe that the force shown there are 'real' stormtroopers. Regular army, navy, and militia units all use the stormtrooper uniform for general combat forces. The rational behind this is that imperial stormtroopers were a symbol, and if you had an elite force you wanted it to appear present at any engagement to deliver a psychological advantage. Thats also why some of the other uniforms of the imperial armed forces, the fleettrooper uniform and army uniforms are rather nondescript and rob the wearer of humanity of appearance just like stormtrooper armor. Jahled also cited Leia's statement, "Aren't you a little short for a stormtrooper?" So what does this mean, well if Luke was that much different in height from an imperial soldier surely he would have been spotted, if stormtroopers were all clones that is. The statement may merely be from higher acceptance requirements for stormtrooper units, or Leia may have been annoyed at not being worth guarding by 'real' stormtroopers (the clones). Still everything points to these simple conclusions. Real stormtroopers, the elite force of the empire are clones. Not all personnel wearing stormtrooper armor are 'real' stormtroopers, think, would you really use an elite ground combat unit for security? The Republic would have been forced to use recuited forces and conscripts to hold the droid armies of the CIS at bay. Real stormtroopers would be very effective, especially if they're depicted the same way they were in episode II, still like any elite unit they would be small in numbers.

Stellar Magic felt his skin crawl, just great, just what he needed. Whiping the lightsaber from his belt he spun and sliced through the alien that had appeared behind him. The creature dropped to the ground it's acidic blood burning through the grating. Angry he tapped the comlink, "All units this is control, emergence launch, abandon the station, I repeat abandon the station." Cursing Stellar ran to the hanger bay and grabbed one of the shuttles, he had an appointment at a Cappucino Bar.

Actually there is no way you'll be able to keep them from landing for one simple reason... You remember that metallic liquid Kyp discovered in that underground facility. The Raporan landers are full of that stuff, they can build their equipment from the soild they land on.
-
::Ponders for a moment:: You guys haven't seen my ideas for the Aklasp and Rapora ground vehicles... Lets just say that you thought the LNR was a nasty piece of hardware, imagine a field artillery piece of equal firepower.

Tenel Ka smiled as she read the detailed instructions that had come from Thrawn. He was the sort of man to think of everything she thought to herself. Then glancing up through the viewports of her command ship she saw an enormous force of Rapora drop out of hyperspace, just as Thrawn had said would happen. Driving at the head of the column was an enormous Raporan Replicator, its massive plasma generators flaring from built up charge. Tenel Stood and walked to the viewport, "Order the interdictor cruiser Jutland's Call to reverse polarity on their gravity well generators." "Yes my liege, we've got Raporan fighters launching from their ships." "Launch all fighters, but keep them close," Tenel Ka said quietly. Then the Replicator fired. The plasma was directed by massive gravitational projectors, but like many cases involving engineers of any species, the situation in which the weapon system found itself was not within the design paramaters. The gravity generators fought with those of the interdictor, slowing the plasma stream until it burnt through the directing vanes and shot unaimed at a right direction into a Kar Lur cruiser, seeing the loss of one of their own, the Replicator gunners cut power to the plasma generators astounded. * * * Darth Fury felt his knuckles turn white at the loss of the Kar Lur, "What happened?" The nearest Rapora Warrior shook its head, "The interdictor reversed its gravity generator's polarity, our Replicator's plasma stream was slowed enough by the repelling effect to damage the generators and other directing mechanisms. The interdictor is adrift, apparently the gravity generators overloaded from the strain." "Bring us in to engage, order the Replicator to fall back." * * * "Is everything ready?" Tenel asked the communications officer. "Yes, our position is being broadcast on all frequencies." Outside the viewport another task force of dropped out of hyperspace directly behind the Rapora fleet. Now the Raporan force was fighting against an enemy equal to it in strength. * * * The Timeless One watched the battle in seething anger as one of the Rapora glanced to him, "My lord shouldn't we move to assist?" "No, not with those two superheavies loose, navigator jump us directly to Ord Mantell, inform all ground commanders to lauch as soon as we come out of hyperspace." * * * Thrawn smiled as he watched the sensor board, "Order the Imperius and Eclipse to move into the moon's shadow and hold there." "Yes sir," The communications officer answered smiling. "All ground forces are to stand ready for battle, planetary defense guns are to fire the moment any ship appears in orbit for now." Thrawn took a sip of the cool drink beside hima nd felt a slight smile creep across his face, he so enjoyed this part of the job outwitting another professional.
-
Now that is classic Thrawn 1 Replicator down, 3 to go... Remember guys, this battle is spread out system wide, and the UDA GFFA forces are scattered throughout for two reasons. 1 to make for the ambush that just happened, and 2 to cut GFFA UDA losses from a single attack by the Replicators Unfortunately it makes it really easily for the Rapora to start landing ground troops.
-
Commodore Eressa walked along the walkway of the crew pit listening to the reports. At the bridge's center was an enormous holo of the Ord Mantell system, all of its planets, rings, moons, comets, and asteroids visible. As were the two hundred Raporan Vessels clustered at the system's edge. Sighing she glanced at the sensor readouts for the immediate area. "Sir, we've got a contact on passive sensors, wait tis firming up, we've got a Raporan starfighter on our scopes, it looks like it's been refitted with a sensor attachment instead of a torpedo." "All ships this is Commodore Eressa battle alert!" Eressa stepped quickly to the command chair and strapped herself in. * * * The Timeless One glanced at the recon report from the lone Rapora starfighter, "Very good, the enemy has scattered, we can engage them peacemeal." He glanced at the holo of Darth Avarice, "Avarice engage and destroy that task force." "By your will my lord," The sith woman answered coldly. * * * "Sensor contacts, a whole Raporan fleet just dropped out of hyperspace, one replicator and supporting vessels," The sensor operator called out, fear entering his voice, "Range twenty thousand kilometers." "All interdiction craft, power up your gravity well projectors, bring us to an attack course on the force." Eressa said plainly knowing that if everything went according to plan the move would be far from full hearty. "An attack course?" Eressa's XO asked from behind her, "Sir." "We have our orders, launch all fighters, send all bombers to attack that Vareme class Cruiser, we'll need to knock it out of the fight." Commodore Eressa said simply. A legion of bombers, everything imaginable in the GFFA and UDA arsenal shot toward the enemy. Older B-wings were flanked by Clawtype missile boats and Scimitar Tie Bombers. The Raporan support craft began to respond, their formation moving forward to block the attack leaving the rear of the Raporan Replicator vulnerable. "Navigator, plot a hyperspace coordinate for dead aft of the Replicator, then transmitt it, make sure it intersects our gravity well." "Yes sir." The bombers were on the verge of engaging when Eressa called out another order, "Pull back the bombers! Ready our antistarfighter weapons!" Then dead aft of the Raporan Replicator the Imperius was pulled out of it's microjump. Beside it was the Eclipse class star destroyer along with it's supporting forces. OOC: After you guys blow the Replicator, disengage and hyperspace out of the combat zone.
