Re: Star Trek Legacy: The Final Frontier???
Stellar_Magic replied to Foshjedi2004's topic in Sci-Fi Ascended Academy
Eh... I'd rather play EVE online. ;D -
Shit... Glasses and all, god George are you trying to make a holofilm ??? This stinks... and George is the one writting the first season which means that the 1st season (Which in most series is often the worst) will be worse then normal. Hell, I give up. Star Wars is now frozen in my mind, and if George does something stupid again I'll just have to tell myself it doesn't exist... ... Puts in a DVD of Ghost in the Shell and begins to watch intelligent Sci-Fi for a change. ;D

I could imagine it now... A-wing.... yes :-[ Actually for an Executor Class Special Abilities... Barrage (Fires a barrage of missiles) Intensify Forward Firepower (Increases rate of fire and accuracy)

Re: PT Boats: Knights of the Sea (A MUST SEE)
Stellar_Magic replied to Ghostly_Substance's topic in Master of Games
Very interesting... though perhaps not quite as realistic as I'd hope for a WWII PT-boat simulation. Those aircraft sure got gunned down quick. The fact you can shoot up enemy sailors on the deck of the vessels looks really impressive though, and the wake effects looked perfect. -
I know this error... its stupid but hey. Simple fix, though. Check and see if the Generic_Star_Destroyer has spawning fighters. If it does cut out the code and put it in the normal Star_Destroyer code. Now make the unit a variant of Generic_Star_Destroyer and tweak as necessary.

Um... Loratus makes the MPTL-2a. It's Yutrane Taktra sp? that makes tanks. -

Excellent... Now here's what you get at each development level. Development Level 1: Incom Corporation Sienar Fleet Systems Koeynsar Corporation Development Level 2: Alliance Engineering (Exclusive to the Rebel Alliance... Produces the RZ-1 A-wing) Aratech Corporation Yutrane Tacktra Corporation Development Level 3: Loratus Corporation Corellian Engineering Corporation Damorian Manufacturing Development Level 4: Rendili Stardrive Corporation Mon Calamari Shipyards Development Level 5: Kuat Drive Yards Rothana Heavy Engineering (subsidiary of KDY, requires KDY Office) Kuat System Engineering (subsidiary of KDY, requires KDY Office) Now why did I ask for raw material levels... Well, there are going to be 5 levels of mining structures available... so thats why. Additionally development levels determing how far up the political building levels you can go... And therefore the taxes you can levy. -

Well, I've been working on the corporate tech tree and I've hit a problem, I'm on the verge of completely filling the command bar. In an effort to keep that from happening I'm going to make it so that different corporations are only buildable on worlds that fit their needs. I'm going to do this by giving an assignment of two values to each planet (These values aren't going to be in the code but expect them to appear in a world's description later). The values will be raw material wealth, and local development level (a function of cultural wealth, technological complexity, and population). The numerical values will be 1-5 as well. So... for example. Coruscant: Local Development Level: 5 Raw Material Wealth: 1 Tatooiene: Local Development Level: 2 Raw Material Wealth: 2 Hoth: Local Development Level: 1 Raw Material Wealth: 1 Geonosis Local Development Level: 3 Raw Material Wealth: 5 So, since I'm so busy I'd like you guys to compile those two values for all the planets in the game. I'll then plug the values in to enable different corporations to be available with each group of values. Thanks. -

Who didnt like episode three why or why not?
Stellar_Magic replied to Darth Noob's topic in General Star Wars
Unfortunately no one can deny that George Lucas is the king of wooden dialogue, even he has admitted it. To quote Harrison Ford, "George you can write this shit, but you can't say it!" Lucas has never been an exceptional director, in fact he only directed Episode IV and finished up Episode VI after a falling out. Considering those two are the poorer of the OT I think its clear to me that George never was all that good of a director... After all sometimes the actors rise above their material, they certainly did in the OT. As for the prequeals let me just say this... Melodrama gets old fast! I mean he puts lines in the mouths of Padme and Anakin that are just downright childish. Lines like, "Anakin you're breaking my heart." It's like something out of a dumb high school soap opera. She's supposed to be a career diplomat and politician for god's sake. You'd think she'd be a little more eloquent, or at least more mature. Hell, I'm 19 and I can write dialogue thats better then that. In ROTS some actors did well and some didn't. Ewan Mcgrevor's sp? performance was very good, as was the performance of the man playing Chancellor Palpatine. Unfortunately the same can not be said for the other actors, Natalie Portman is quite competent but failed to rise above the material, and as much as Star Wars fans hate him, Hayden Christianson sp? wasn't horrible but it was definitely hit and miss. If you want someone to blame for the poor quality of dramatic and emotional moments in ROTS there is only one place to drop the blame, George. -

Training levels at work... Broadside Corvette (Untrained) Broadside Corvette (Basic) Broadside Corvette (Trained) Broadside Corvette (Highly Trained) As to pop cap... Certain units have negative pop points. Freighters: Corellian Action IV (-75 Pop Points) Corellian CR90 Corvette (-1 Pop Point) Command Vessels also have negative Population Points. Pop points are determined by a simple computation of crew size and cargo space, this means that some units take up tons of pop points. A single VSD takes up around 54 pop points and a ISD takes 335 pop points. In order to deploy large formations of units you'll need to employ either freighters or command vessels, heck you need freighters just to deploy a single Imperial I. -

Lordy have I been busy, but most of what I've been doing is building stuff that is ... less then image worthy... By which I mean I've been concentrating on structures and the tech tree, and implementing training levels on capital ships, which if you haven't guessed is a real pain. I'll be posting some new images soon. http://ror.250free.com/ROR_Screenshots/015.jpg http://ror.250free.com/ROR_Screenshots/016.jpg http://ror.250free.com/ROR_Screenshots/017.jpg http://ror.250free.com/ROR_Screenshots/018.jpg http://ror.250free.com/ROR_Screenshots/019.jpg http://ror.250free.com/ROR_Screenshots/020.jpg -
Well at least EA is giving Will Wright a free hand when it comes to the development of his games... Spore is going to Rock! But in terms of who has the best games... LA and EA both are pretty bad compaired to Ubi-Soft. Brothers in Arms, IL-2, Pacific Fighters, those are awesome games. The BEST titles which LA had going for them died when the prequels came out. The X-wing series for one, and they've milked the Dark Forces/Jedi Knight Series to Death.

Problem with SPMA-T max firing range
Stellar_Magic replied to Athanasios's topic in EAW Mods General Workshop
In order for the infantry to work you'll have to add the Targeting Behavior to the squad versions of the infantry. Look for the tags. -
Come on, thats like asking which would you prefer as president, George W. Bush or Dick Cheney! Give some more options. They both stink as developers if you ask me, (LA hasn't made anything really really good in something like 5-6 years.)

No, thats Booster's response.

Hmm... What actually was in the films: "I've heard the Emperor has something special planned. We only need to keep them from escaping." -Admiral Piett "You want this don't you. The hate is welling up in you now." -Emperor Palpatine "No Luke, I am your father." -Darth Vader "Twice the pride, double the fall." -Count Dooku "I hate it when he does that." -Obi-wan Kenobi "This is why I hate flying." -Obi-wan Kenobi From the Books: "I'm getting too old for this." -Han Solo, Lando Calrissian, and Wedge Antilles "One Corellian is trouble, two is a conspiracy, and three of them is a fight." -Wedge Antilles "I'd like to see how you'd do against an Imperial Grand Admiral!" -Han Solo "You will kill Skywalker!" -Emperor Palpatine "You fought like cadets." -Grand Admiral Thrawn "Just so you know, you were nothing more then cargo Solo." -Boba Fett + Timothy Zahn's introduction of Hot Choclate to the Star Wars Universe! My personal favorite lines from the Rapora Wars RPG: "Why am I still cleaning up after him over ten years later?" -Luke Skywalker regarding Kyp Durron "What do you mean by past tragedies on volcanic planets? The heat is probably frying your circuits, you walking trashcontainer." -Threepio "Travel lag is such a load of bantha spit..." -Mara Jade Skywalker "Never underestimate an enemy and never overestimate an ally Stent." -Admiral Parck "You must cast aside everything you knew before, to unlearn what you have learned. For nothing I have taught you will prepare you for what is to come." -Obi-wan's Ghost "Leave this world, do your masters bidding elsewhere, for this place is my charge and I'll let no one tamper with its tranquility, even you." -***Classified***

Re: RealisticMap v1 released!
Stellar_Magic replied to magnus57's topic in EAW Mods General Workshop
The map size automatically adjusts to the values for the planets you use. You can easily increase the map size just by having planets further out. This will cause a bug where planet icons will appear outside of the original icon map, to correct this you'll have to edit a value in Game Constants, I don't remember which one though. -
When in doubt... blame Q ;D

Why would the dominion be aligned with the Federation?
-
One possibility would be to have Star Trek and Star Wars forces aligning on both sides. The Federation and Rebel Alliance verses the Romulan Empire and Galactic Empire or something.
-
Umm... In that case I must say you're wrong. The Sovereign Class is stronger, and since some versions lacked the axial superlaser, it counts! ;D

Well, when you tried to edit it they must've changed it back. I just edited it myself, and hopefully they won't trash it.
