  1. I've encontered more problems that I've seen until now in EAW. The excesive easy gameplay makes the game look a bit unrealistic and to easy to play. Also known features that can be found on most of the RTS games are presented I think like something new in EAW by someone in the video. In short: 1. The ships explode to fast. Targeting all subsystems manually seem obsolete. Ther is no pause for orders option. 2. The ships fist explosion seems unnatural in comparations with the cool destroyd stuff animations. A SHIP CANNOT EXPLODE IN THE SAME TIME ON ALL DEKS ! the explosion clusters should be diferentiated in time ! 3. There is to much smoke and fire in space ! SPACE FIRES don't behave like that. Try to diminuate a little the earth like effects. LOLL so in space the smoke is going up ?! Ha, ha - its not funny 4. Space battles are to short ! There is no magic or difficulty in them ! 5. Ships don't have names nor they have experience gain - this is extremly bad - 6. The Characters are not just cool units ! they are SW characters and they should look more real not bulletproof zombies. 7. Don't make the FORCE POWERS animations look like Lord Of the Rings MAGIC ! We don't need that ! (*Vader's force crush) 8. Two AT-ATs, a stormtrooper brigade, Vader, and 3 TIE tanks can do dust out of a Rancor if they open fire ! Be Realistic guys ! 9. The Galaxy view looks BAD for a space strategy game ! It is looking like a children's apple tree .... See Nexus or Freelancer for GOD SAKE ! 10. You cannot have tradelanes in Star Wars ! If you want them enable the direct jump to another planets but slow it down in comparation with aflyght on a so called tradelane ! 11. My predictions are at this moment that the game will never beat RTW and RTW was a difficult and realistic game - and they make it to be the best ! Ask your self why ?!?! 12. Petroglyph put your gamedesigners to play right now extensivly for 10 days this games: - Rome Total War (Better gameplay - better reallity than EAW) - Ground Control II (Same scale like EAW but Better graphics and animations) - Homeworlld I and II (Better Space battles reality) - Homeworld Cataclysm (Better voices and game plot artistic feeling) - Freelancer ( Better feel of space and galaxy ) - Nexus ( Better space battles and a way more cool and real GALAXY VIEW ) .... 14. The galaxy is way to small and unrealistic. 15. The game looks desigend for 2001-2002 and ment to be played by 8-10 years old childrens ! - I really wish that in the next press release I will get a heads up from Petroglyph.
  2. After manageing to see the E3 video from MWEM ? - I have decided to do another document. http://swempireatwar.10.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=98 After a more indepth analysis and a wider space game comparation my morale has droped to a all time low If they will not do something fast I really fear that the faith of the Rebellion will come back to hunt them.

Also the developers can`t officialy solocit feedback so this is made at our fan initiative. Developers may already have all our feedback sugestions in the game and we can not garantee, that what we say here will not exist already in the game at the date we post them. You must feedback here only if you consider your feedback to be impersonal and with no conection made to your real person. Also no new ideeas unrelated to LEC or Petroglyph are accepted here just feedback on know issues from the videos and official materials already released. This topic should be deleted by the moderators as soon as they consider it done and unproductive from a moment in time."

  8. It maybe just be that the AI has less to think about and it gives him more focus. Loll I could consider the rebellion Ai a good Ai but it was never extensivly tested.
  9. I was thinking now about the RTW AI .... hmmm ...... how could I better translate that infos and errors to be useful advaices for EAW ?! I will edit my self soon.
  10. Joshinator welcome And enjoy our small home of freedom and love for EAW.

  13. Yes I personaly am ! Mike has earned my respect and admiration long ago .
  14. Loll Ismael I never said that Mike's is smaller than Brett's they are both cool game developers. Thanks for posting the info about Mike - I was assuming that you will do that, since it is your friend after all
  15. Who is in charge of produceing our game ? - Brett Tosti Brett Tosti was credited on a game as early as 1993 and as recently as 2004. His career probably spans more years than those displayed since these dates are based on the credits documented on the net (Moby Games). Brett Tosti has been credited with the roles Production, Quality Assurance, Support, Design and Box & Content. Brett Tosti has been credited on games developed by the following companies: LucasArts, Raven Software, Factor 5, Pandemic Studios, LLC and Acclaim Studios Salt Lake City. This does not imply employment by these companies. Games Credited (*I think he worked on different positions in them but don't know what job and were) Star Wars: Battlefront (2004), LucasArts Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy (2003), LucasArts Star Wars: Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike (2003), LucasArts Star Wars: Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast (2002), Activision Publishing, Inc. Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2002), LucasArts Star Wars: Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader (2001), LucasArts Star Wars: Starfighter (2001), LucasArts Star Wars: Episode I: Racer (1999), LucasArts Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith (1998), LucasArts Star Wars: Rogue Squadron 3D (1998), LucasArts Outlaws (1997), LucasArts Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II (1997), LucasArts Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire (1996), Nintendo Full Throttle (1995), Star Wars: Dark Forces (1995), LucasArts Star Wars: Rebel Assault II: The Hidden Empire (1995), LucasArts Star Wars: TIE Fighter (Collector's CD-ROM) (1995), LucasArts Star Wars: TIE Fighter (1994), Super Star Wars: Return of the Jedi (1994), JVC Musical Industries, Inc. Day of the Tentacle (1993), LucasArts Sam & Max Hit the Road (1993), LucasArts Star Wars: Rebel Assault (1993), LucasArts Star Wars: X-Wing: B-Wing (1993), LucasArts Super Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back (1993), JVC Musical Industries, Inc. Zombies Ate My Neighbors (1993), Konami Corporation Now we can all sleep well tonight . Maybe a EAW moderator could tell us more about Brett the one who guides the production of our game. I'm quite proud with him. I can use his infos to bust EAW's coolnes in front of my friends. Anyone of you stund looking at the long list ?!
  16. In the past I've done extensive research on the Rebellion AI. A tool exist that enables you to see all the AI movements in the galaxy so here is what I found and find till today as beeing SWR AI problems. SWR - It seems that the AI does not fully use his building potential. He is not able to decide to invest extensivly in a particular place and use it to the maximum. He only uses 1/2 or 2/3 from the potential of a good planet. - Always (85%) before an atack against a planet the AI uses probes to spy it first. But his fleet is ready for invasion and waits and waits for the damn probe to diliver an information wich it cannot since it can't penetrate the planet. So the AI looses pretious time due to probing. The EAW AI should avoid such delays and be more bold in his actions. Once he has a info that atracts him against one of your planets and he already has builded his invasion fleet he must attack directly and with no delays. - The SWR AI does not fully use hit and run tactics nor does he try to create super fleets and deal you a mortal blow to your fleet. - The AI does not use in his final days kamikaze style actions to delay the inevitable but still make you a hard time winning. - The AI management of characters really suck he always send's them exactly were they are not needed. Also the new jedis that are found by Vader or Luke are never trained in the jedi arts. - The AI can take serious blows in the first days cause he runs after you and left him self to open or he makes large fleets and when he sees some of your moves he brakes the strike fleets only to arrive with some ships to a place were you are already gone. - That AI never used the concept of haveing a fleet hidden and prepared to be reinforcements just in case they are needed. want the EAW hard AI settings to be really hard and realistic. The fighters should use WWII fighter formations or tactics (*A WWII military manual will say alot) The EAW ships should use two types of tactics. For the first part of EAW (Aclamator or Venator classes) should take formations and ship tactics from the era of Admiral Nelson and Napoleon. Later ships like the ISDs or SSDs should fight and use formations like the modern US Navy. The task groups should look similar in structure as well as the tactics. It should be considered that some ships should have interplanetary missiles with hyperdrive. Such a solutions is extremly realistic in terms of military strategy. The Ai must use such weapons to make your life mizerable on hard settings. What esle should the EAW AI do ? For what kind of AI you will pay to get - how it should act to really make you mad. Mad cause is so good at gameplay not mad that it is bad - Loll
  17. This topic is about the EAW AI. How we will like it to be. Genreal stuff or known AI RTS problems that you have been upset with and don't want to find them in EAW. "See before posting - Disclamer: I should mention that the developers are not obliged to read this topic or follow our feedback to the letter and i can`t guarantee that it will be found at a later date in EAW or that it will affect or help EAW in any way. 18. Nobody forces you to play 80 planets you could decide to play 40 , 60 or 80. Probably the first SP play will be forced on 40 but after that one you will be free to take as many as you wish and I will take 80. - It's the SW galaxy after all not an oversized double solar system.
  19. JediIgor, mawshiye and Mad78 thanks for joining the "war" . I will make sure to ask Ismael to send the topic to Petroglyph also ... next week when they will have more free time. It is not only that but we can make feedback topics and send them the links to their emails. I know for sure from Ismael that they said this was good feedback : http://swempireatwar.10.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=59 this is the only way : they are not allowed to recive emails with fan suggestions or ideeas. They are scared by theyr contracts to death about this issue. So the only way to do a good feedback topic for them to see, follow and implement (if they like it) it will be like this : http://forums.lucasarts.com/thread.jspa?threadID=45892&tstart=0 see my first post. Their official contract restraints oblige them to act like this. We are really lucky that Ismael find out the way to do good feedback and comunication with them. As for the planets they started from 20 and now is 40+ as long there is a (+) we will fight for more. If they officialy frozen the number we will end our argueing and feebdack other EAW areas. the planets feedback topic from there and the E3 topic are the most productive ones in temrs of discution or argueing with developers. In case a newb sees this ... hmmm ... act like a fan and say nothing. Just be very smart in your posts there. Evaders or any other SWR admin when you see this pls. delete the hole topic. It opens a knowhow gate that must be not to wide or left open to much. Thanks
  20. Thanks Mad78 if they want a trench war we can reply there to one another keeping that topic up for months. Loll we will defeat them in a war of attrition. If they see that topic still going up forever they will really do the 80+.
  21. Mad78 thank you. I know that they are not haveing in their work agenda right now the increase of the planets number but I'm sure that they will think about it. I was needing some more powerful arguments to defeat Cobra878 in the debate. I hope we did enough of them but I fear the battle is still undecided. bobandrubert I wish you luck but what you seek is extremly difficult. try my style from EAW LEC forums. I could quote you a LEC developer that that is the only way to really make the developers see your words.
  22. GENERAL GRIEVOUS's CLONE Double Planet Mission Mission Planets : Unknown Mission Time : Before Episode IV - You recive a secret information stateing that General Grievous has made for himself a clone (it had not much to clone anyway) and with the help of his tehno allies has created also a backup memory to be inserted in the clone in case he dies. The problem for todays player is that the memory and the body are on two diferent planets and both you and the enemy will race to get them and revive the lost general. It is very probable that Count Duku was the one who instructed Grevious to do the clone. Both the mind and the body of the general can be stored separatly and only when they are put in a research facility the 4 arms metal general will take life again. If the other faction gets the body or only the mind you will have to get it from them to remake the general character. The troops guarding the general remains will be some old droid ships and troops that will activate when you are in range. Grevious has backed up his memory just after the fight with Master Windu on Coruscant and it will decide to join your army and let you acces on some old separatist hidden weapons stores. Reward: For both sides - New character recived - and some old ships and droids. PS. I add this story mission cause one of my friends loved Grevious so much that he almost cryed at the cinema when he has seen him destroyd.
  23. I made this topic for the fans to suggest some cool Single Player missions for EAW. I should mention that the developers are not obliged to read this topic or follow our feedback to the letter and it cant guarantee that it will be found in the EAW. Another aspect may be that this missions that you may suggest could already be in EAW. Also the developers cant officialy solocit feedback so this is made at our fan initiative. This beeing said : be nice, be explicit and descriptive, use only oficial materials and concepts and make one/two posts with one mission description and do not comment on other peoples mission suggestion or the topic will be to long for developers to follow. We will let the developers decide how to use this feedback or even if they want to look at it and at the end I will do a pool on SWEAW PFF and we will vote for them to see what missions are more appealing to fans. (*So when you post here your mission make also a title for it so I will only use that for the pool). Thank you (*I will also post shortly my feedbacked mission stories) NOTE: DO NOT COMMENT WITH REPLYs ... ONLY POST YOUR STORY BASED ON EXISTING EAW LEC OFFICIAL METERIALS ! Thanks You can copy your post also here for LEC: http://forums.lucasarts.com/thread.jspa?threadID=45892&tstart=0
  24. Loll .... it was just an expresion for them to know at whom I am adressing that means SWR lovers.
  25. bobandrubert I can assure you that I'm not insane or something. The only email public posted from Ismael is this : http://swempireatwar.10.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=54 I know most of the others but don't ask me to share them with you. Not to mention that Ismael is editing them even for me. but I can live with that. I even have Mike's Legg email but I never email him cause I trust Ismael sends him the links that I want him to see... this is all I have to say.
