  1. My problem is that copying the .dll's is the only way for me to get any of my changes in on my laptop...RebEd just doesn't display properly, preventing me from loading cards and such.
  2. Gameplay was good, but the graphics...ooo, the graphics! It's a travesty what they did to Link! He looked so cool in Ocarina of Time as an adult...
  3. I'd kinda wondered, being as the whole program is your baby and all...
  4. Aside from it being "Yoda Green"...
  5. *Haven't played Battlefront. Curious about it, though. *Haven't played KotOR (Neverwinter Nights knock-off). *Haven't played Battlegrounds (isn't that the "Age of Empires" mod? ). *Haven't played Republic Commando. I'm decidedly anti-prequels. I DO like the ARC-Trooper, though. *Haven't played Masters of Teras Kasai (or however it's spelled) *Played Jedi Knight only until I got my lightsaber (got boring after that) *Played Dark Forces only about 3/4 of the way. *Played the hell outta X-Wing, TIE Fighter, X-Wing vs. TIE, BoP, and X-Wing Alliance. Not enough to want to mod it, though...(sorry, Darksaber ) Had fun with the Millenium Falcon gunner patch, though. *Bought a Nintendo 64 for Rogue Squadron and Shadows of the Empire. Played the heck outta RS... *Sold the Nintendo 64 for Playstation 2, but sold the PS2 so I could get a Gamecube and the latest Rogue Squadron game. Well, and the Zelda series. (except Windwaker...{shudder}..just say 'no' to cell-shading. ) *Played Force Commander (need to dedicate a bit more time to that one...wish it was more like Mechcommander 2) *Still Religiously play Rebellion...(duh...) I dunno...IMHO, Lucasarts does better when they develop the game themselves, rather than mimic/mod an existing game simply to make some cash. The game always seems to be more endearing and memorable, as Jahled said.
  6. Being a HALO fan, I particularly liked these: HALO Pelican Dropship Scorpion Tank More HALO goodness... Don't know where some of these parts come from, though...
  7. Those programs are for creating your own model...from scratch. Now, despite my best efforts, this remains a task well beyond my skills. If you're dead-set on creating one though, by all means knock yourself out. But, if all you want to do is replace a model (say, with a few of the excellent ones from this site) then it gets much easier. In fact, it's actually easier than replacing a card when you consider all the text editing and so forth. Just read through the whole tutorial, paying special attention to loading a new model. Better yet, look for Mask's Model Importer Program from his site (click the link at the bottom of any of his posts) and read through the tutorial there. Bill: Careful, or you'll turn this into an "Ideas for Rebellion 2" thread.
  8. Ah-HA! I knew there was an ulterior motive! And you had another scheme, too! Well, it does NOW. But you'd be surprised how difficult it was to wait before... BTW, I'm experimenting with simply overwriting the textstra, strategy, and tactical .dll's on my laptop with the editted ones from my desktop to circumvent the RebEd display issue I was having. We'll see how that goes.
  9. Here's a couple more interesting ones. And they appear to be a bit more...affordable, too. A veritable fleet! A couple more additions and... The Wild Karrde.
  10. Oh, and I downloaded each one, don't you doubt! But I agree...I would have liked 'em for all of the ships.
  11. Sure. Just click on the links for each card in the database here. That should open up a windows dialoge so you can choose to save the file or open it. Select 'save', and put it someplace where you won't lose it on your HD. Let's say you've downloaded a minor character card (minor characters being those characters other than the 'big four' for the Rebels and Darth and Palpy for the Empire). Now, start RebEd, and select "Minor Characters". A new window will open, allowing you to view the 'cards' for each character. Select one you want to replace, and click the "load card" button. Navigate to where you saved the downloaded card, and click "Load". Viola! You might get a "string truncated: too long!" message, which means the name and/or the description is too long, but that can be fixed later with ResHack (a whole 'nuther beastie, there!). But for the time being, that's how you load a card. Any questions?
  12. And a General...Rieekan after he's done with research, perhaps.
  13. Really? Wow...like I said, I've never seen that. It's been my biggest pet-peeve that my LNR's wouldn't fire upon invading Imps unless they bombarded.
  14. I played an unedited multiplayer game with Valkir (he hasn't been on in awhile) and the Rebels (me) had nine Jedi (including Luke & Leia) while the Empire only had four. He was pissed. I don't remember which characters they were, though.
  15. I've never seen the LNR batteries open up during a ground assault...
  16. I hear he's entitled it, "Editing Star Wars: Rebellion for Dummies: A Compilation of Every Bit of Advice I'm Tired of Repeating Endlessly in the Forums" {sigh} Yes, I suppose I should just stop being lazy and back up everything once I have it set up properly. But at that point the game is just calling for me...
  17. I'll see your Screed and raise you a: 'String Truncated' city...
  18. I find myself doing that a lot. A wise decision, to be sure, but I simply have too many 'must-haves'. It takes me upwards of 3 uninterrupted hours to reload everything. New models, replacing ships, replacing characters...oi, ve. Yeah, that may be part of my problem. I tend to like long, in-depth descriptions rather than the short ones in the standard game. Aaah, I see! That WOULD make the process a bit easier in some instances!
  19. Yes, but in my case, when I open RebEd and, for example, select Capital Ships, the message comes up like, 40 billion times and grays out the names of all the ships. Then, in-game, the names are unchanged. Same thing happens for characters. But...I...er...you mean...D'OH! So that would mean I could then load the entire category after, say, a complete reload? Edit: WHOOT! I'm a General! Gotta love surprise promotions...
  20. A who with the what now? Backups of everything but the .dll's? Could you 'splain this one, bud? Yeah, but loading that card might just get your description and name truncated, not to mention all the effort in modifying the rank titles. I've always found it best to go into ResHack and save each entry as a .txt file for a backup. Saves a bit of a heartache. But that has to be done in conjunction with the card-save in RebEd so you get your images and stats.
  21. Interesting. I'm now getting a "Your textstra.dll image is not correct" error (or somesuch nonesense), and it does much the same thing. I really don't want to reload everything, though.
  22. And if you've been playing it THAT long, you'll absolutely LOVE RebEd. Download it, tweak the settings, load some cards...and you'll be forever hooked. Er...or at least moreso than you already are.
  23. I am apparantly not drinking enough alcohol to properly understand the direction of this thread... Mask: Thanky much! That one works on my end. Jahled: Sorry bud, but I still can't access the one you made. I appreciate it, though!
  24. Unauthorized Website, I'm afraid.
  25. I'm going to go with...disturbing. I kinda miss the ol' Biker Scout...
