  1. ...yet they just LOVE it when you let them walk all over you for about five seconds, then bomb them into oblivion. The people in this game like wierd stuff. "They got us onto their side without sending troops in-- they just bombed out garrisons with inaccurate weapons (that could kill civilians) from space!" So remember, they'll start to hate you if you don't blow up their shields and bomb a few buildings into oblivion. Otherwise, they'll love you. That is, if you aren't too late. In other words, they like oppression. As long as no one resists the oppression.
  2. Who would have thought that such tiny ships could save a whole fleet? Still, it was good that the carracks didn't try to get in range of your fighters immediately. That would keep the X-wings busy for a while. Nebulon-Bs can't can't keep up with carracks, of course, so if they were chasing X-wings, they'd be hard to destroy.
  3. Just came up with this beginning scroll-thing. Looks a lot cooler with fonts in place... STAR WARS GRAND ADMIRAL THRAWN A SW:REBELLION STORY The rebel alliance struck a major blow to the empire at the BATTLE OF YAVIN by destroying the imperial space station known as the DEATH STAR. Though the war’s outcome is still unknown, a brilliant tactician known as GRAND ADMIRAL THRAWN has taken control of the Imperial forces under the SUPREME COMMANDER’S advisory. Though the war’s outcome is undecided this new leader may restore order to the galaxy…
  4. Maybe it was more than luck Sounds like a nice battle. Good job, there! you could've lost that fight very easily. You came through, though.
  5. That was scary. Anyaway, battlefront looks like a good game. I'm only worried about balance, but generally that's not an issue with this kind of game. Or too big anissue, at least. Anyway, excuse me while I make myself a memo never to go to that site again.
  6. Wow. I've been on here a while tonight, haven't I? Anyway, just finished this Ah, well. Note that some numbers in this chapter were changed for drama. By the way, you can send a lot of fleets to help in battle if you build lots of Gencores/LNRs, can't you? 6. Thrawn’s fleet came out of hyperspace above Kessel, Battle-Ready. Intel was wrong, though. The rebels hadn’t had a big fleet here—It was Humongous. Their 127 ships were no match for that—It appeared to be at least 250! He comm. blinked and flashed on. “Hello, there!â€
  7. It's pretty high. over 5000, I know. Between 5000 and 10000... broad range. That's the length of many of my games. I like to let them live as long as possible, let them suffer. I could finish faster. Anyway, I might make it seven chapters. I might add some elaborate story about my deathblow to the rebellion (That is the capture of Luke) with a ground battle or something. Or not. I dunno. And thanks for the compliment.
  8. In a sense, it is a good title. It is rather plain, though. I would've gone with something more unexpected. Actually, I do like it better than the name 'Attack of the Clones'. I'd bet it is a better movie, too. Well, I don't know. We'll see. I'll count on it being good. As long as it gets a bit more like the OT, I'm sure it'll be worth seeing in the movies and buying once it comes out. We can only hope, I guess.
  9. My top 5, in no real order: 5. Officers- randomly named, trainable. You can assign ranks... You can use them to improve the AI of ships (commander, captain) task forces (Commodore), or to give additional options like transfer power, intensify, etc... 4. Fleets along hyperlanes. This has obviously come up before... maybe it would work... 3.Planetary and sector defense- CorSec, CSA, etc. If you invade the planet, they're enemies. If you take it diplomatically, they can help you. 2.Missions can be given to small trooper units. ex. you can build a stormtrooper platoon. 1. A more customizable galaxy- design a certain number of planets, put them in a certain order of importance, and then allow the player to select the number of planets they want in the galaxy from, say, 50-1500. Say Fornax was number 1012. It and all higher-ranking planets would be included ingame. I think increased range could negate the need for engines... but then again, it goes the other way. So it's really kinda pointless. Modular/customizable ships would be great, I think. I think with some credits, it'd be nice to be able to replace some turbolasers with lasers and vice versa. Though, complete customization would be overkill, and I think having a cost to it is a must. Also, more ranks for characters. Make thrawn a Grand Admiral and Ackbar a fleet admiral ifyou want. Or just give characters random ranks. Have your agent rank them based on stats. There's so much that could be done there. I like the ideas here. Great minds, you all have.
  10. I did that with SSDs... I forgot to change it back to normal cost/hyperdrive after testing Mask's model in-game (a very good model, by the way). It didn't take long for me to realize my mistake... anyway... I find some sort of humor when this happens. Don't worry. Everytime you think you've done something really stupid, someone comes by and tops it... now just watch as someone comes by and says they somehow changed every ship in the game to the DS or something. I think lots of people hate corvettes. Death to CEC.
  11. Shortest chapter yet-- the battle in this was so short I didn't bother to give the details. Just the beginning and end. Next chapter will be the final one for sure. 5. “Grand Admiral?â€
  12. One of the better gameplay stories I've seen. I like all stories I see, of any game, pretty much, though.
  13. oooookay. Just got Ch. 4 done. Research is pretty much finished in this chapter, though the rim fleets are a little behind during the time its written. I've actually already finished the game, and like all games should, it ended with a big blowout battle with bulwarks and SSDs in which luke was captured. That'll be around Ch.6... as for now... (By the way, word went crazy toward the end, so I had to press enter a lot to fix it. Sorry if it looks wierd on the forums.- And after preview, it's a little thin, but not terrible.-) 4. “…Intel reports indicate that the empire does not know we are…â€
  14. I finished this part fast, despite the fact it's the longest yet. Has a bit more story to it. 3. Piett raced to the bridge of the ISD Executor. “Lord Vader! Our probes have found several rebel planets in the Orus sector.â€
  15. I was tired when I wrote a lot of this next part... but I hope it's good anyway. 2. Han smiled. He was now a commander on board the Liberty, a new Mon Calamari cruiser fresh off the shipyards. He could take the Falcon in to battle, but he could also command the Wor Tandell fleet’s fighters from the safety of the MC-80’s bridge. He looked out at the Fleet. It was good combination of ships. It included five dreadnaughts, seven Bulk Cruisers, six Nebulon-Bs, four Corellian corvettes, four Medium Transports, and the Liberty. Each was loaded to capacity with X-wings. If that fleet from Pantolomin came in, it would be obliterated. Shortly after he arrived from Phorliss, a fleet from Wor Tandell had been dispatched to intercept that fleet. Of course, the imperial fleet disappeared within hours of that happening. It didn’t bother him, though. “Sir!â€
  16. I made this story after playing an imperial game where everything seemed to work pretty well- and it was the first time I played empire after I Changed Thrawn's title in Textra.dll to "Grand Admiral"- also, he controlled the fleet I used! Enjoy. Grand Admiral Thrawn A SW- Rebellion Story Chapter 1. Thrawn smiled as he looked out the bridge viewport of the ISD Judicator at Coruscant. The city-planet could be seen in perfectly from the cruiser’s low orbit. It was a splash of colors and lights, blended beautifully. It reminded him of art. Art was one of the things he admired most. Pictures, sculptures, music- they showed him stories, emotions. Sometimes the themes from different races, cultures, or species could show themes that would aid him in battle. The holo-projector flashed, indicating someone was attempting to contact the Judicator. He turned it on and the image of IMP-22 Military protocol droid appeared. The droid belonged to the Imperial Supreme commander. He commander was undoubtedly busy- he usually personally delivered his messages. “Admiral,â€
  17. But I just wanted them to attack a capital ship. The same one. Not the most powerful or anything. Besides, a lot of them were equally powerful, and at the beginning I did that and they all targeted different ones, so I did it manually. When I select 'target this capital ship", they target it and attack it at once, too, WITHOUT me having to reassign the rest of the task forces from the ship they self-targeted to the one the first one did. The point of this strategy, I'm not sure if I made it clear enough, was not to destroy the most powerful ships. It is to reduce their ships, not to the point of destruction, but to the point where there is no gun power, no hyperdrive, no shield recharge, no shield, no tractor and no sublight. The order to withdraw automatically destroys the ships with these ratings.
  18. Just used this at Coruscant against the real IMP-22 (What I call the AI so I can say 'he' not those 4-letter they-based words). I won, but I forgot to load my fleet with the tons of liberator cruisers, X-wings, B-wings, Y-wings and A-wings I had ready in another fleet. He started with 7 ISDs, an interdictor, 7 VSDIIs, tens of fighter squadrons, a carrack and a dreadnaught. I started with 8 Assault frigates, 4 gunships, 4 corvettes, and 2 Mon Cals. He escaped with an escort carrier. I finished with everything, but all my Mon Cals lost all their value. I didn't save after, so I'm going back and doing things a little differently. First, I'm sabotaging those gencores he built in four days with his fancy advanced construction yards. Then, I'm adding my liberators and fighters to the fleet. Then, I'm running recon with a gunship and moving in if I see fit.
  19. That, too. But this person seemed to keep from fleeing too much, so it was doubly surprising when he withdrew, especially since I was firing on the interdictor when he fled. I had no intention to withdraw, but he's pretty good at noticing those things. So it was very surprising.
  20. 3 Neb taskforces, not just Neb-Bs. They were large taskforces, mind you. roughly 7-11 ships each. But still, had I used a normal strategy I wouldn't have won, given there were about 5-9 much more powerful ships in each of their task forces. And I didn't destroy the SDs, just fired on them until their stats were all down to 0, I didn't try to destroy them because it takes about 30 seconds after that to destroy them, time for the remaining 20 SDs to destroy more of my 30 Neb-Bs, which I need because this force is defending one of the most important sectors I have.
  21. I just started playing a SWR game to see how many big battles I can have before I oliterate IMP-22's command ship not too long ago, and one of my first battles was at Charmath. Now, that's obviously not the story. In that battle, I had three task forces of Nebulon-B Frigates plus a corellian gunship, 2 X-Wing Squadrons and 2 A-Wing squadrons. They had a small task force of Vicstars, a task force of imstars and Dreadnaughts, and one of carracks and more vicstars/impstars and an interdictor. They also had hordes of TIE Defenders, Fighters, Interceptors(sp?) and Bombers. Their fleet was undoubtedly more powerful than mine, but I decided to go out in a blaze of glory. I started off well, and took out all but their defender and interceptor squadrons, losing my four in the process. As the Capital ships neared, I paused and reassigned, deciding if I'm gonna let some get away after my fleet is destroyed they might as well be fighters. I decided to take them one ship at a time, assigning all task forces to one. Then I got an Idea. I first would take them down so that they're just pieces of junk, but not gone. So I took several Impstars and Vicstars, destroying a carrack and Dreadnaught in the process. I had the interdictor down to no weapons when the remaining Impstars turned around, the TIEs returned to hangars and the Defenders rushed to the edge of the battle. The Interdictor was still partly functional, and slowly made its way to the edge of the map as well, under heavy turbolaser fire as it fled. Before I knew it, the remaining impstars and Vicstars exploded. "The Imperial fleet is withdrawing-We've won!" So that's my new strategy for taking on fleets more powerful than mine. I had 4/5 of my fleet operational and undamagedat the end, they had just one ship over half, and less than half of their fighters. What do you think of my strategy?
  22. I got: Wicket -- A particularly curious, inventive, and resourceful young Ewok, open to exploring new ideas and developing novel solutions to everyday problems (e.g., destroying AT-STs). Mon Mothma -- This is a senator of great integrity and responsibility whose talent for organization has streamlined the Alliances communications, decision-making, & accounting. Wampas -- reclusive creatures of the ice planet Hoth. They are rarely seen & generally shy, leading a solitary existence. Boba Fett -- A mean and menacing bounty hunter, known for his ruthlessness. ( ) Tusken warriors -- These inhabitants of Tatooine are unpredictable, temperamental, and excitable, and known to be especially moody in their difficult teenage years.
  23. Scenareo: I'm playing the rebels and a HUGE buckethead (or imperial as some call them) fleet consisting of mostly star destroyers, some carracks and some dreadnaughts moves in on a lightly defended system defended by five Y-Wing squadrons or so. I give orders and automatically the fleet turns around and leaves. I'm thinking it's a recon fleet. several hundred days later, an improved but still recognizable fleet- fleet ten (the first fleet) jumps in on 5 Y, X, and A-wing sqadrons. Same thing. Research 9, 8 b-wing squadrons added. A HUGE Fleet 10 jumps in, with lancers, skrikes, more SDs, everything. it ran like the wind. I don't know why this happened or why it never happened again. Oh, well. I'm not complaining!
  24. Name-Rob "Nosy" One Current Rank- Cadet Rebel Alliance Force- unbeliever- see signature job- smuggler
  25. Sorry if someone already posted this , I just skimmed this board but I heard on some forum somewhere Episode III might be called 'The Dark Times'...
