  1. #zoners on irc.netgamers.org > you may find somebody that will play there, i won't promise anything, just idle for a few weeks and we'll get suspicious of your skill and ask what we can do to make you go away voluntarily, if it's to play the dreaded Rebellion multiplayer then so be it jedi, but be warned we are very good and likely to be accused of cheating by nubs
  2. I assume you mean it won't play the movie. You can usually hit spacebar and skip the intro and cutscenes. Your CD may be old and scratched or the appropriate decoder is not functioning? Anyways, give spacebar a try
  3. I don't see a Website Issues sub-forum anymore and the PM feature is disabled so I guess to post here is best. I was making a rather long and complex post with a bit BBCode and some URLs and when I hit submit it, your website protection freaked out about "SQL Injection" and banned my real IP from accessing the board. Bud's recommended changes: 1. Unban bud's primary IP. (67.xxx.xxx.xx) 2. Since bud fired up a virtual machine image with tor network and turbutton (firefox plugin) installed, he can log in to his user account from any IP and SQL Inject you all he wants with anonymity anyways (ignore the three or four other attempts I made while trying to figure out what portion of the post it didn't like... apparently it doesn't like it's own BBCode) 3. Post a message about if "Email Admin@swrebellion.com... blah blah" on the main page when an IP has been blocked, and also filter the user's new IP address to be blocked if he logs in the same account again instead.
  4. I have steam but choose to disable this feature. Why? Because I don't need another instant messenger, I hate the way developers decide to thrust features down their users throats, steam didn't need this. Whatever happened to a memory and CPU friendly programming philosophy, we shot ourselves in the foot by giving into Moore's law and following a strict adherence to our PC upgrade calender. I'm tired of buying $500 graphics card and new processors every 18 months... I'm glad to have a PS3 now... was this the rant you were looking for? But it's a good idea, but don't count on me being there
  5. Oh, that backplane is a nice idea, I have two of my drives stuffed in the 3.5" floppy bays in my Lian-Li case but because of the design, the floppy bay covers will not snap into place to hide them with hard drives installed in those spots.
  6. 5TB I need to find some new work so I can get some more drives... I'm running 2x 500GB IDE and 2x 74GB SATA Raptors in my WHS ... though 1.1TB is about plenty for my own storage needs; but I won't be judgmental about the porn stock of others
  7. You're fortunate to have me then... among some in the WHS community I am considered a foremost expert on the subject. http://mswhs.com/2008/03/13/existing-connector-software-works-on-windows-xp-x64-sp2/ My suggestion, any POS will do so long as it only has one hard drive... running more than one (I am and don't follow my own advice) can be a catalyst for data corruption until the drive extender software is updated at Power Pack 1 release.
  8. I'm a huge fan of the show... if you want to read my rantings and insights I usually post them over at the neowin.net thread. http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=593000 What I also forgot to mention over at neowin is that artificial humans in BSG and Blade Runner are both referred to by the derogatory term of "skinjobs." Note: I also spelled Chief "Tyrol" with an "e" and not an "o" but it's still close enough to be a valid observation. Ron Moore is a huge Ridley Scott film and directs his BSG writing crew to refer to the films, Alien, Black Hawk Down, and Blade Runner to establish the look and feel of BSG. 9. My old website from back in the day is mysteriously still online... must bring Yahoo too many good hits... whatever prolongs the Microsoft takeover is fine by me! I'm afraid once they do, it will be among the first of the old regime to the swept under the new Imperial carpet of Emperor Gates and Darth Balmer. (click "Rebellion Project" for the strategy guides) http://www.geocities.com/budskorner/ - Star Wars Rebellion Strategy Source! (circa 1999) ... old school tips from guys that long ago forgot how to play this game... http://members.tripod.com/Buds_Korner/ - ... and apparently the tripod mirror still works too... just in case that evil Gates succeeds
  10. My guess is like most developers, they are avoiding the p2p problem by dropping out of PC releases initially and focusing on a controlled market in consoles. I'd have no surprise that a month after the release on console, they announce a PC port. X360 code is basically 90% ready for PC compile anyways. Also, the notion of physics processing, this game engine is demanding... keep in mind that the PS3 has a main cpu with seven subprocessors, and the X360 has 3 cores capable of executing two threads each... to use this game engine on PC would require at least quad core I'm thinking. It's already been stated by the developers that the Wii and PS2 versions are different engines, gone are the fully destructible environments and particle physics. I do have a PS3 though, and looking forward to this game when available.

  12. The better question is how does Boba Fett get from the SSD Executor's bridge to his ship and into the garbage bay of the ISD Avenger from the time the message comes across "We have them..." until the moment the Falcon latches onto the back of the Avenger's bridge and Capt. Needa takes a shuttle to apologize to Vader. It's always been a bit of continuity error of how he gets in the garbage bay.
  13. Not so frequently FAQ'd question: Is this project officially dead?
  14. They haven't even done a follow up to the Tie Fighter series in a decade... so I'll hold my breathe on Rebellion 2.
  15. I'm already a member of the alliance that won the last round... but I do not mind creating a general channel for SWR members who play and need help finding an alliance to play with and to adjust to the game. IRC Server: irc.netgamers.org "/query budious your text message" to send a private message
  16. I'd offer to help but the potential fire hazard of putting a quad-core Q6600 B3 processor under full load for an extended period of time has me concerned
  17. Planetarion is a web based strategy game utilizing hourly ticks to dictate the speed of the game. The theme is there are five species-races to choose from each with different ship types and capabilities. Players may select population assignments and government types for additional bonuses. Most players join alliances (capped at 60 members this round) and use IRC (internet relay chat) to organize gameplay defense and attack strategies. Free accounts are available and paid accounts with additional features are available for approximately US $5. Ticks begin Friday, January 11th at 20:00GMT. The round will run for 7 weeks. http://www.planetarion.com
  18. My experience so far is that the installer is complete poop... once you get past that and managed to get it working running properly, the game isn't too bad.
  19. There's nothing like the cold hard snap of a Singer typewriter. Then, in the late 80's was the error of the digital word processor, a bastardized PC with the sole purpose of word processing... and I miss my brick phone
  20. They will fire at anything that comes into gun range, you have to keep in mind each type of ship and weapon has it's own range limit in this game. Fighters have very short firing range so they have to be close to the target. The escort command works fine if you use it on an ISD with support ships then send the ISD into close combat with a rebel fleet.
  21. I have the strange habit of the more I concentrate on the screen or thought of what I am typing the more error prone I become. When I sit down and begin just hammering out a thoughtless rant it just comes so naturally.
  22. Dont give a flying fuck Tofu... I was never an English major.
  23. Agreed Krytos... Tofu, you're what, 16-17? That clumpy peach fuzz you would call a beard is laughable, please send me a picture at one year of growth.
  24. Isn't 40,000+ days like 120 years? WTF is going on in that movie?! Looked like crap anyways so I wont be watching it, maybe I'll download it when a 720p torrent comes out
  25. I'm getting the impression that George Lucas had two teenage adopted daughters at the time that wrote those scenes for him. He was probably like whatever, let me do all my medochlorine crap and my jedi battles and if you just stfu you can write the love scenes, lol. The Samuel L. Jackson dialog makes me cringe, he's such a talented actor which was totally wasted as Mace Windu.
