http://content.health.msn.com/content/article/60/67217.htm Well, here we go again. I know the "media" is only trying to help, but it is kind of freaking me out, like maybe they know something that we don't, and they aren't giving us all the correct iformation. Like, for instance, the talk, once again, about the duck tape and plastic sheats. At least this time they are telling people to tape up thier vents and turn off the circulations (duh! )! This was not told back when they first started telling us all this jumbo. And, they are not telling anyone to tape off the entire room like they should be. Just taping up the vents, windows, dorrs, ect isnt going to work. And they fail to mention that if you do lock yourself in a seald room that you will need a bottle of oxygen or you will just end up killing yourself slower (duh, once again ). I mean, dosen't that make sence? Any input folks?

OK, 1st, that statement was a bit out there don't you think Gonk? Thats not very nice. 2nd, Jahled- no, Gonk does not represent all Americans or our views, but he is also entitled to his views just as you and I are. As long as we are all clear that they are just his vews. Can't we all keep the treats of violence agains each other out of this. There is going to be enough death in the next few months to possibley even years to last a life time IMO. There is now a very real WAR going on. I personaly hope there will never ever be another 9/11, and I could never wish an act like that on anyone. So come on guys, chill out, and stop it with the horrible threats and all! Please

Don't worry Trejiuvanat, thats one flight I won't miss!
-
WOW Trejiuvanat, are you actually comparing the US to Germany in World War 2 I really don't think there is much comparison there. Are you actually suggesting that the US have used biological and chemical weapons on the world before....because I really can't think of any time when we have. That is what we are looking for in Iraq. If they have them they may use them, not just on us, but on other countries as well. I think however that NO ONE (in the whole world) should be in possession of Biological, Chemical, or Nuclear weapons, for what my opinion is worth. Ya Coruscant sounds nice to. What lesson do you think Germany taught the world in WW2 if I may ask Not trying to be a smart a$$ just currious on your thought process.
-
Yes Gank, in a way that was sarcasm. I was just pointing out to him that living in the US (for this example) provided him with the right to say what he thought and to not get in trouble for his beleifs. Thas all. Trejiuvanat - I understand that other countries also have this freedom to say what they feel without fear of persicution, but I was using the US as a specific example since I and Gonkrader are both from the US. Thats all I was trying to get across with my statement

Isn't it great to be an American, GonkRaider, where we are allowed to express our personal views and not be individually persecuted for them? I think that it is horrible what happen to that girl. I feel very sad for her and her family and friends. But I truly believe that she had to know that her life was at risk in some shape or fashion by entering a war torn country. We are lucky enough to not know what that is like, others in several countries are not so lucky. As to whether or not you should die in a terrorist attack due to your intelligence level, that’s not right, and I don't believe that anyone should wish death on another person just because you don't believe in their views. We are all entitled to our own opinions, whether they are right or wrong. I personally hope no one ever dies in another terrorist attack, even that that may be an unrealistic hope; it is still one I have. Even if my worse enemy were going to be affected by it I still could never wish death on anyone. Maybe we should all sit back, take a breath and clear our sight and mind. One girl has already died standing up for something she believed in. Why should so may more? Just because we don’t agree with them. That’s not a good enough reason!

I am glad you understand how I feel. Thank you. I wasnt refering to wepons of mass destruction specifically, just other weapons that they have said they didn't have and low-and-behold they do, is all.
-
We know that he has these wepons...everytime he denies it we find new stuff, so it is only a matter of time. Hussein will never leave the contry alive, he is willing to send others out to die for him, thats just the way he is. I believe that may inocent lives are going to be lost before this is all over with and that sometime Wednesday or Thursday Iraq is going to crazy on fire. This all sucks, every last bit of it. I am moving to Pluto. I don't like Hussein or BinLaden but war also sucks. I wish I could just enter a sphere of obliviousness sometimes, you know. I hate our world and love it at the same time

LOL Jahled! Those are really funny!

Does anyone remeber this It was 1987! At a lecture the other day they were playing an old news video of Lt.Col. Oliver North testifying at the Iran-Contra hearings during the Reagan Administration. There was Ollie in front of God and country getting the third degree, but what he said was stunning! He was being drilled by a senator; "Did you not recently spend close to $60,000 for a home security system?" Ollie replied, "Yes, I did, Sir." The senator continued, trying to get a laugh out of the audience, "Isn't that just a little excessive?" "No, sir," continued Ollie. "No? And why not?" the senator asked. "Because the lives of my family and I were threatened, sir." "Threatened? By whom?" the senator questioned. "By a terrorist, sir" Ollie answered. "Terrorist? What terrorist could possibly scare you that much?" "His name is Osama bin Laden, sir" Ollie replied. At this point the senator tried to repeat the name, but couldn't pronounce it, which most people back then probably couldn't. A couple of people laughed at the attempt. Then the senator continued. Why are you so afraid of this man?" the senator asked. "Because, sir, he is the most evil person alive that I know of", Ollie answered. "And what do you recommend we do about him?" asked the senator. "Well, sir, if it was up to me, I would recommend that an assassin team be formed to eliminate him and his men from the face of the earth." The senator disagreed with this approach, and that was all that was shown of the clip. By the way, that senator was Al Gore Also: Terrorist pilot Mohammad Atta blew up a bus in Israel in 1986. The Israelis captured, tried and imprisoned him. As part of the Oslo agreement with the Palestinians in 1993, Israel had to agree to release so-called "political prisoners." However, the Israelis would not release any with blood on their hands, The American President at the time, Bill Clinton, and his Secretary of State, Warren Christopher, "insisted" that all prisoners be released. Thus Mohammad Atta was freed and eventually thanked the US by flying an airplane into Tower One of the World Trade Center. This was reported by many of the American TV networks at the time that the terrorists were first identified. It was censored in the US from all later reports.

Anyway, I agree with UntimelyDemise & ricepr2001 that the election was not rigged, and I didn't even vote for Bush. But I am not even going to get into it again. Believe what you want to believe and twist the facts however you like. We are never going to agree on this issue. I just found this and thought that some of you might be interested in it, while others will just tear it apart. Whatever. Let hear it for freedom speech! Were all entitled to our own opinions, so say what you like "DO NOT FORGET" I sat in a movie theater watching "Schindler's List," asked myself, "Why didn't the Jews fight back?" Now I know why. I sat in a movie theater, watching "Pearl Harbor" and asked myself, "Why weren't we prepared?" Now I know why. Civilized people cannot fathom, much less predict, the actions of evil people. On September 11, dozens of capable airplane passengers allowed themselves to be overpowered by a handful of poorly armed terrorists because they did not comprehend the depth of hatred that motivated their captors. On September 11, thousands of innocent people were murdered because too many Americans naively reject the reality that some nations are dedicated to the dominance of others. Many political pundits, pacifists and media personnel want us to forget the carnage. They say we must focus on the bravery of the rescuers and ignore the cowardice of the killers. They implore us to understand the motivation of the perpetrators. Major television stations have announced they will assist the healing process by not replaying devastating footage of the planes crashing into the Twin Towers. I will not be manipulated. I will not pretend to understand. I will not forget. I will not forget the liberal media who abused freedom of the press to kick our country when it was vulnerable and hurting. I will not forget that CBS anchor Dan Rather preceded President Bush's address to the nation with the snide remark, "No matter how you feel about him, he is still our president." I will not forget that ABC TV anchor Peter Jennings questioned President Bush's motives for not returning immediately to Washington, DC and commented, "We're all pretty skeptical and cynical about Washington." And I will not forget that ABC's Mark Halperin warned if reporters weren't informed of every little detail of this war, they aren't "likely -- nor should they be expected -- to show deference." I will not isolate myself from my fellow Americans by pretending an attack on the USS Cole in Yemen was not an attack on the United States of America. I will not forget the Clinton administration equipped Islamic terrorists and their supporters with the world's most sophisticated telecommunications equipment and encryption technology, thereby compromising America's ability to trace terrorist radio, cell phone, land lines, faxes and modem communications. I will not be appeased with pointless, quick retaliatory strikes like those perfected by the previous administration. I will not be comforted by "feel-good, do nothing" regulations like the silly "Have your bags been under your control?" question at the airport. I will not be influenced by so-called, "antiwar demonstrators" who exploit the right of _expression to chant anti-American obscenities. I will not forget the moral victory handed the North Vietnamese by American war protesters who reviled and spat upon the returning soldiers, airmen, sailors and Marines. I will not be softened by the wishful thinking of pacifists who chose reassurance over reality. I will embrace the wise words of Prime Minister Tony Blair who told Labor Party conference, "They have no moral inhibition on the slaughter of the innocent. If they could have murdered not 7,000 but 70,000, does anyone doubt they would have done so and rejoiced in it?" There is no compromise possible with such people, no meeting of minds, no point of understanding with such terror. Just a choice: defeat it or be defeated by it. And defeat it we must! I will force myself to: -hear the weeping -feel the helplessness -imagine the terror -sense the panic -smell the burning flesh -experience the loss -remember the hatred. I sat in a movie theater, watching "Private Ryan" and asked myself, "Where did they find the courage?" Now I know. We have no choice. Living without liberty is not living. -- Ed Evans, MGySgt., USMC (Ret.)

I also wish that would happen Jahled! That is something that needs to be taken care of!
-
That is a very good point Trejiuvanat. I will try to correct myself from now on. Thank you for a different perspective. It makes totally sense Very, very good point!

Obviously you have no concept of what took place here or you wouldn't be making an uneducated statement like that. There was noting criminal about what happened, therefore no reason for anyone, be it Bush or Gore, to go to prison. I guess we treat people a little better over here, which is why no one is in jail over that whole situation. I agree with you on some points. I think that Bush should have signed the Kyoto treaty and I am sad that he didn't. But other countries should have still signed it even if we didn't (and a lot of counties didn't because they like to do what we do, whether it is right or wrong). Sorry, but we don't own any other countries anymore than some do us. So what’s up with that little remark! This fight is not only about oil, duh! We are not a country totally dependent on foreign oil. You are so full of bullshit. Why can’t you just answer a question instead of turning everything around? "got a problem...ohh, I know, lets blame it on the Americans, because they have more than us and are soo evil. I hate them so much" Get over it dude. I just wanted to have a conversation with people here. I didn’t come here to have you treat me and others like shit just for voicing our opinion, just like you did. So screw you. Its over. PEACE DUDE! I have noting else to say to someone like you.
-
Well then while we are on the subject Gank, just remeber that Europe and part of Asia, ect would also be "fucked" as you put it if we hadn't been there to back your asses up so fuck you! With out us your country would also be "impotent"
