  1. http://pocket.ign.com/articles/384/384979p1.html I can't be there because I don't live in England. You two better be, though!
  2. Dark Forces came out in the 90s...
  3. I am thinking one big war, but not one at a time. I think that when the appropriate number of years have passed, the new races should introduce themselves. Then we could see some kind of alliance negotiations (even Rebel/Empire), backstabbings, etc.. I think this should be one of the single-player AND multi-player game modes. Until the other players get to use their race, they could watch game messages (like say Sabotage, but not things like R&D, Jedi Training, etc.), observe battles, and even watch player's actions if those players say it's okay.
  4. Interesting idea back there... Researching manuevers and tactics.
  5. The capture ideas were already up; pretty old conversation. I supposed that I should bring up the idea of hybrid ships for those of you who haven't read the old one. Like Rebels capturing an Interdictor Cruiser can hybridize it with a Strike Cruiser for Modified Strike Cruisers, as seen in Balance of Power. You may use the Interdictor immediately, but before you build any or hybridize, you need to send Wedge or Ackbar or another ship-saavy scientist to research it. I think there should be hyperspace routes between sectors, because then there are a lot, but not too much to not be able to do ambushes. I brought this up before; just brining it up again.
  6. I thought Rebellion: Reloaded was a TC using the original Rebellion game engine. In fact, I still think so.
  7. Because that is the name of the mod. Greg is making another game, correct? It will obviously be a little different than Rebellion 2.
  8. *Shrug* It could be, but I gotta call his game something.
  9. State of the Galaxy is a real game in the making, right? Is there any information on it yet other than the mod ability?
  10. Yeah, I even made special buttons for general commands like that.
  11. Well I think it would be nice to have some impressive battles for once.
  12. Or we could do it like in Rebellion: With the 2D lasers coming from the center of the ship.
  13. Well, we'd calculate one value for the ship for each fighter. So let's say one fighter is 2 from the ship (let's say 2 is top). Each gun has some certain values. If they have a clear line of sight to the back of the ship, they get that value. If they also have a clear line of sight to the side or bottom, they could get those values too. If one of those values is 2, the gun could fire at that target. It might be better to use many more values than 6 for directions if the computer can handle it.
  14. Well setting the ships to target multiple objects means that more guns can be shooting at once. The ships would automatically optimize which guns are being used on what (Laser Canons for starfighters and Turbolasers for capitol ships)(If you're targeting a squadron and a capitol ship and the squadron is behind you, the forward laser canons temporarily shoot at the capitol ship until the fighters come into their arc), and you would determine the proportions of laser fire and targets by 1/8ths.
  15. That is just something I made up to describe how Rebellion works. It is real time because players play on a set time frame simultaneously. It's digital because everything is done by days.
  16. I disagree. The battles in Rebellion take maybe twice as long as they do in the actual game, which the strategy section of the game takes place thousands of times faster then they do in the game. You shouldn't be able to move in ships from other systems during battle unless both sides reach a stalemate (which would need to be a game feature first). However, what would really effect the gameplay is multiplay chain of command structure. The command could be determined before the game began and adjusted as it went on. Games would go faster if other individuals could micromanage. I think that microphone support would be an essential feature for this in order to save time from writing messages. Tactical battles would be really fun like this, especially if you were able to micromanage ships' orders. Yeah, this has been suggested before, but I wanted to bring this up because multiplay chain of command would really speed up the game. I think the game should remain just how it was: Digital real time in the strategy section and pausable real time in the tactics section. I wouldn't really call the normal strategy turn-based since both players act simultaneously and neither of them decide when the turn ends. Oh, I just came up with a fun idea! How about the game keeps track of a set number of ships in a tactical battle. When a battle is paused, the opposing player can choose to watch recorded footage from the battle. This would be especially nice when one player is away from the computer.
  17. Yeah, I know. It was funny, but I didn't want anyone to misinterpret you or misunderstand me. Oh, by the way. You know the sword Link has in Adventure of Link? It's on the game's cover. I want something similar to that, except a little longer and probably without all the rubies in the hilt and everything.
  18. Uh... yeah... Well yeah, I know it'll be hard, but it's something I really want to do. Finding that much steel probably wouldn't be too hard; metal is actually pretty cheap and/or easy to purify. No, I don't plan on making a katana, so I won't be folding the sword thousands of times. I want to make a short, more European sword. Oh, I'm 18. Just because it's not a realistic goal doesn't mean it shouldn't be a goal.
  19. That's a cryin' shame, man. I already told my girlfriend that I want to make my own sword when I get older. Of course, I gotta learn how to do that first...
  20. Isn't he also in Dark Forces 1?
  21. I think maybe things from other games. Like maybe Emkay from X-Wing: Alliance. Oh, maybe that's not an Easter Egg... Hmmmm... You could put Samus in there somewhere. You'd find her on a planet called Zebes, SR-11 (I know I got the number wrong), or Tallon IV that randomly appear. LOL
  22. Did someone actually post? *Yawns, waking up*
  23. Actually, you need to edit Expand2 (Aftermath), but I forget how. Hmmm... Hard to find a good RA site nowadays.
  24. There are some for Command and Conquer: Red Alert's expansion, Aftermath, too. They are the Phase Transport and Helicarrier. They're really easy to hack "back" into the game, though.
  25. I think someone needs to put these images and .wavs onto a site somewhere.
